Abstract

Smallholder rubber is a leading commodity that plays a vital role in the regional economy, particularly in Mandailing Natal Regency, which is known as one of the main rubber-producing areas in North Sumatra. However, the marketing system for smallholder rubber in this region still faces several structural constraints that significantly affect farmers' income. This article aims to analyze the distribution channels, margin distribution, and marketing efficiency of smallholder rubber in Mandailing Natal using a literature review approach. The data were obtained from various scientific publications, government reports, and agribusiness studies published over the past ten years. The review found two common marketing channel patterns: a long channel (farmers ? local collectors ? wholesalers ? factories) and a short channel (farmers ? wholesalers ? factories). The short channel proves to be more profitable for farmers by reducing intermediaries and increasing marketing efficiency. Additionally, farmers' share of profit margins increases significantly under the short channel. Nonetheless, challenges such as weak farmer institutions, limited market access, and lack of price information remain major obstacles. Therefore, recommended strategies include establishing marketing cooperatives, improving distribution infrastructure, and digitizing price information systems. Enhancing the existing marketing system is expected to improve the welfare of smallholder rubber farmers in Mandailing Natal sustainably.
ANALYSIS OF POWER OF ATTORNEY TO SELL AS A REQUIREMENT FOR MURABAHAH BIL WAKALAH FINANCING AT BANK SYARIAH INDONESIA Delia Sariyulis; Muhammad Iqbal

Abstract

This article analyzes the power of attorney to sell as a condition for murabahah bil wakalah financing at Bank Syariah Indonesia. A power of attorney to sell is a legal document that authorizes a particular party to sell assets or goods on behalf of another party. This power of attorney is regulated in Article 1792 of the Civil Code. In this financing, the intended party is a Sharia Financial Institution. In murabahah bil wakalah financing, a power of attorney to sell is crucial because it guarantees the Sharia financial institution in the transaction process. With this power of attorney, financial institutions can ensure they have the right to sell the financed goods if the customer fails to fulfill their obligations. The use of this SKM raises several problems in Islamic jurisprudence, because it concerns the status of ownership of goods, the principle of justice, and the validity of the transfer of rights through a power of attorney in the context of a Sharia sale and purchase agreement, as this SKM is irrevocable or cannot be revoked. The type of legal research used is an empirical juridical approach. Legal materials were collected through literature studies, document studies, and through interviews and observations. The research concludes that the use of a power of attorney for murabahah bil wakalah financing at Bank Syariah Indonesia is valid because the SKM does not conflict with sharia principles, especially in the wakalah contract, as long as the granting of power of attorney is carried out voluntarily by the customer, with a complete understanding of its contents and consequences. This is expected to provide recommendations for financial institutions and customers in understanding and good practices related to using a power of attorney for selling.

Abstract

Tax increase policies often generate pros and cons among the public, especially when perceived as having an impact on increasing unemployment. This study aims to analyze public sentiment regarding the issue of tax increases impacting unemployment by utilizing Machine Learning classification methods, namely Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Multinomial Naive Bayes (MNB). The data used comes from social media platform X in the form of public opinions collected online and then categorized into three sentiments: positive, negative, and neutral, with a total of 1,000 sentiment data points. The analysis process included text preprocessing, feature extraction with TF-IDF, and classification using both methods. In the Test and Score algorithm, the SVM algorithm produced an AUC of 0.660, CA of 0.694, F1 of 0.569, and Recall of 0.694, while the MNB algorithm produced an AUC of 0.586, CA of 0.198, F1 of 0.105, and Recall of 0.198. The study concluded that Support Vector Machines (SVMs) had a higher level of accuracy than Multinominal Naïve Bayes in classifying public sentiment. The majority of public opinion tended to be negative, indicating concern about the impact of tax increases on the workforce. These findings provide important insights for policymakers to consider public perception when establishing future fiscal policy.

Abstract

On-time completion is a key indicator of success in construction projects. However, in practice, many projects experience schedule deviations due to ineffective planning and unanticipated site constraints. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of planning and schedule control systems on the Sports Hall Project in Cibubur using the Percent Plan Complete (PPC) indicator as a time control tool, and to identify the factors that enabled the project to stay on schedule despite the PPC value not reaching the ideal target. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach through the analysis of weekly PPC values, schedule deviations, and causes of delay (Reason for Non-Completion/RNC). The results show that the average PPC value only reached 19%, with significant fluctuations throughout the execution period. Although many activities experienced start and finish delays, the actual duration was shorter than planned, indicating acceleration strategies such as overtime and additional labor. The evaluation also revealed that the main constraints were delays in shop drawings, material procurement, and administrative issues. These findings indicate that despite the low PPC value, the project was still completed on time due to the project team’s adaptive responses carried out systematically and collaboratively. Therefore, PPC proves to be an effective evaluative tool for measuring the reliability of planning and the timeliness of project execution

Abstract

Purpose– This study aims to analyze the level of digital banking usage among students of the Faculty of Engineering at Diponegoro University and to identify the key factors influencing their adoption. Methodology— This study employs a quantitative approach, utilizing a binary logistic regression analysis method to analyze data collected through questionnaires from 15 respondents. Findings – The results of the analysis indicate that the overall regression model is not significant in predicting the use of digital banks, with a significance value of 0.922 and a Nagelkerke R-squared value of 0.213. However, the model is considered quite appropriate to the actual data based on the Hosmer and Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test. Of the seven predictor variables tested, only two variables have a significant effect, namely monthly pocket money, which shows a negative impact, and ICT literacy, which shows a positive effect on the use of digital banks. Implications – This finding confirms the importance of economic factors and digital literacy in encouraging the adoption of financial technology among engineering students. It supports the relevance of the Technology Acceptance Model framework in understanding the behavior of adopting digital banking services. Originality—This disciplinary focus offers novel contributions by revealing how engineering education influences the relative impact of financial capability, digital competence, and enabling conditions on the adoption of digital banking.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of fiscal policy on Indonesia's economic growth in the period 2010-2023 using the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) approach. The results show that capital expenditure has the most significant effect on economic growth in the long term, with the highest fiscal multiplier compared to other instruments. Social spending and subsidies also contribute positively to growth, especially in maintaining people's purchasing power during periods of crisis, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. In terms of revenue, value added tax and income tax show a positive correlation with economic growth, although their effectiveness depends on the tax structure and taxpayer compliance. This study also finds that a well-managed budget deficit can act as a development instrument that encourages productive investment and increases economic output sustainably. In addition, the analysis of the impulse response function (IRF) and forecast error variance decomposition (FEVD) shows that government spending instruments have a greater impact than tax instruments on the dynamics of Indonesia's economic growth. The policy implications of this study emphasize the need to optimize capital spending, reform social spending, increase the tax ratio through comprehensive tax reform, and manage the deficit wisely to maintain fiscal stability. In conclusion, effective and targeted fiscal policy can be a major catalyst in accelerating economic growth and supporting the structural transformation of the Indonesian economy towards a more inclusive and sustainable direction.
