Abstract

Abstract. The rapid development of digital technology has transformed parenting paradigms, presenting new complexities for parents guiding children amidst a plethora of information and digital content. This study highlights the urgency of adequate preparation for parents, particularly members of Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana (the Indonesian Army Wives Association) within the military environment, who face unique challenges related to their husbands' dynamic professions. Initial observations in Makassar indicated a gap in emotional support due to these dynamics, potentially affecting psychological well-being and the quality of childcare. The concept of "Resilient Parenting," encompassing emotional resilience, effective family communication, fostering child independence, and optimizing support systems, becomes essential in this context. This research outlines the implementation of a community service program in the form of a seminar titled "Becoming Resilient Parents in the Digital Era," involving 200 Persit members in Makassar City. Utilizing an interactive seminar approach that combined comprehensive material presentations, brainstorming sessions, and open discussions, the program aimed to enhance the parenting capacity of Persit members. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants' understanding of digital parenting literacy, the application of positive discipline, and assertive communication strategies. The discussion correlates these findings with Urie Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Systems Theory, emphasizing how interventions at the family microsystem level can mitigate the impacts of the digital macrosystem and military exosystem. This program successfully equipped participants with practical skills and strengthened community support networks, contributing to enhanced family resilience and the quality of child development in the digital era. Keywords: Resilient Parenting; Childrearing, Family Resilience, Digital Literacy.

Abstract

Abstract

Learning anxiety is a feeling that arises when a person is unable to control himself or is helpless in certain circumstances. Usually, people who experience anxiety have several reactions, such as a racing heart, tension, and even emotion. anxiety becomes an obstacle in the learning process that can reduce the performance of a person's cognitive functions, such as in concentrating, remembering, forming concepts and solving problems. The humanistic existential approach is a theory that focuses on the human condition which focuses on an attitude that emphasizes an understanding of humans. The existential approach also directs individuals to become more aware that they have the freedom to choose and act, and then helps them make life choices that enable them to actualize themselves and achieve a meaningful life. Existential therapy can help counselees to be able to deal with the anxiety of choosing for themselves and then accept the reality that they are more than just victims of the power of determining outside themselves.

Abstract

Purpose – This paper examines the influence of compensation and organizational culture on workforce agility, mediated by employee engagement, at Raja Ali Haji Maritime University (UMRAH). Methodology/approach – Data were collected via a survey focusing on the influence of compensation and organizational culture on workforce agility. The population consisted of 227 education personnel at UMRAH. The sample comprised 103 ASN education personnel from UMRAH.Findings – The study found that organizational culture is a key factor directly and significantly affecting workforce agility. This highlights the importance of fostering a strong organizational culture (BerAKHLAK) to enhance workforce agility at UMRAH, enabling the university to adapt to change. Novelty/value – To navigate the challenges of the VUCA world (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity), UMRAH needs to improve workforce agility to achieve its vision and mission. Contrary to expectations, compensation did not have a significant effect on workforce agility. Instead, organizational culture, an area that has not been a primary focus at UMRAH, proved to be a more influential factor in enhancing workforce agility.

Abstract

Indonesia is the country with the second highest burden of Tuberculosis (TB) in the world. It is estimated that there are 845,000 new cases of TB every year with a death rate of 98,000 cases or equivalent to 11 deaths/hour. Tuberculosis control is directed to accelerate TB elimination by 2030. The transmission and development of TB disease is increasingly widespread because it is influenced by social factors such as poverty, urbanization, less active lifestyles, tobacco use, and alcohol. This research uses the literature review method and obtained 7 relevant journals. The results of this study show that the implementation of TB control programs in several health centers still faces various obstacles, especially in terms of funding, limited human resources, lack of SOPs, and not optimal technical implementation such as the discovery of active cases and the involvement of cadres.

Abstract

Background: Diphtheria remains a persistent public health issue, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), where vaccination coverage is often inadequate. Recent outbreaks, such as those in the 1990s, highlight the ongoing threat posed by this vaccine-preventable disease. The World Health Organization (WHO) provides data for monitoring the global trends in diphtheria cases, helping countries remain vigilant against its resurgence. Objective: This study aims to analyze the trend of diphtheria cases and incidence rates in 10 countries with the highest disease burden as a public health challenge in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC), with a focus on the impact of vaccination coverage. Methods: Longitudinal study was utilized in this research. G-power was performed to calculate the sample size. In accordance with the goal year that was being investigated, the research ranked the nations that were chosen into the top ten countries that had the largest number of cases of diphtheria. Our analysis was based on secondary data obtained from the WHO and included the years 2017 through 2021. In order to assess the distribution of healthcare access and vaccine coverage, we conducted a descriptive analysis of all of the data. This served the purpose of identifying significant public health concerns that contribute to diphtheria epidemics. We used the Stata 16 application to perform analysis on all of the data. Results: The majority of diphtheria cases occur in African and Asian countries, especially in areas with lower DTP-3 vaccination coverage. Yemen, Ethiopia, and Nigeria have high diphtheria rates due to disparities in access to health services and immunization programs. Countries with higher vaccination rates, such as India and Indonesia, report lower rates despite having high numbers of cases. This suggests that strong immunization programs are essential to control the disease. Conclusion: Diphtheria continues to be a significant public health challenge in LMICs, exacerbated by geographic and socioeconomic disparities in vaccination coverage. Global cooperation, including support from high-income countries, is essential to strengthen immunization programs and prevent future outbreaks. Diphtheria should be recognized as a global health threat, requiring comprehensive and coordinated efforts to achieve eradication. Keywords: Diphtheria; incidence rate; reported cases; vaccinated
