Abstract

Background of this study is the low level of curiosity and conceptual understanding of fourth grade students of State Elementary Schools in Kendal Regency on mathematics subjects. The objectives of this study are (1) to know the effect of the character of curiosity towards of conceptual understanding obtained by students (2) to know the ability of students to understand fraction concepts after experiencing thematic-realistic learning. The method used was mixed method with sequential explanatory model. The sample in the research were all IV grade. While, the techniques of data analysis were t-test and z score test. The results of this study indicate that (1) there is a significant effect of the character of curiosity towards ability of mathematical conceptual understanding obtained by students (2) The implementation of thematic-realistic learning is able to significantly improve students' ability of mathematical conceptual understanding than the class that use conventional learning.

Abstract

In the PISA study, Indonesian students are still meet in solving questions focused on mathematical connections which is shown by the ability of students to use Mathematics that they learn to solve problems in everyday life. The research objectives were knowing the quality of mathematical connection skills and measuring the increase in mathematical connection ability after the model of ICARE social simulation was implemented. The type of research used is mixed methods with research designs concurrent embedded. The results of research on ICARE model learning through quality social simulation, showed the ability of mathematical connections has reached classical completeness more than 75% and students' mathematical connection ability in ICARE model learning through social simulation is higher than that of students with expository learning. Mathematical connection ability of students in the experimental class increased by 0.538 in the medium category, while students in the control class increased by 0.375 in the medium category.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the generative learning of quality in in creasing problem solving abilities, to test the effect of learning independence on problem solving abilities, and to define problem solving abilities in terms of learning independence. This research method is mixed methods with concurrent triangulation model. The population of this research were VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 35 Semarang in 2018/2019 academic year, and samples were taken by cluster random sampling. The technique collection of data used such as a questionnaire of learning independence, a test of problem solving skills, documentation, observation, and interviews. The data analysis technique used the average similarity test, the proportion test, the average similarity test (two-sample t test), and simple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that students have good problem solving skills because of the enthusiasm in mathematics, understanding concepts, and feeling mastered the material. The study also showed that the generative learning model was declared effective, by indicators namely the problem solving ability of students reaching KKM (Minimum Mastery Criteria), the generative model produced problem solving abilities and students learning independence better than PBL (Problem Bae Learning), and the problem solving abilities of students to the generative model that affected their learning independence.

Abstract

Pada wilayah tertentu belum ada keseimbangan antara permintaan penggunaan air dan nilai aliran maksimum pada jaringan distribusi air Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM). Nilai aliran maksimum pada jaringan pipa distribusi air dalam suatu wilayah minimal harus sama dengan ketersediaan suplai air dari sumber mata air dalam wilayah tersebut, agar kebutuhan air pada wilayah yang dilayani dapat tercukupi.Dengan demikian perlu dirancang sebuah jaringan yang dapat mengatasi masalah tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan pendekatan jaringan fuzzy, yaitu sebuah jaringan dengan parameter berupa bilangan fuzzy. Dalam hal ini digunakan jaringan fuzzy, karena tidak ada data yang pasti tentang kapasitas pipa dalam sebuah jaringan. Dalam penelitian ini telah dihasilkan program untuk memodelkan jaringan fuzzy dan menentukan nilai aliran maksimum pada jaringan fuzzy tersebut. Selanjutnya nilai aliran maksimum digunakan untuk menganalisis pemenuhan kebutuhan air pelanggan dalam suatu wilayah.

Abstract

The main problem of rice production in Kranggan village is mainly due to the lack of water, low soil fertility, high cost of seeds and fertiliser, which resulted in small output despite the overuse of synthetic fertilisers. In this activity, we described the accompaniment and application of SRI method for rice cultivation, particularly for the women farmer?s group. This community service aimed to improve the knowledge, insight, and skill in rice cultivation by employing SRI method to save the water, reduce the cost of seeds and fertiliser, and increasing time efficiency in rice production. It was anticipated that such an approach would result in the environmentally friendly production of healthy rice. The activity of community service was based on a survey to analyse the agricultural status of Kranggan village, extension activity on the application SRI method for rice cultivation, practical training and demonstration of rice cultivation plot using SRI method, and healthy rice packaging by the members of Women Farmer?s Group. The activities were then followed by pre-test and post-test to confirm the improvement of knowledge and skill. The results of the community service demonstrated that the use PowerPoint method for knowledge delivery increased the understanding of SRI system by 89%, while direct training in organic NPK fertiliser production and seagrass POC increased the skill by 85%. Besides, the accompaniment of the Women Farmer?s Group up to the post-harvest period empowered the group members as the rice production was environmentally friendly, lowered the cost, reduced the use of water and labour cost, resulted in the production of healthy rice, and increased selling price by 50%. Keywords: System of Rice Intensification, the Women Farmer?s Group Kranggan

Abstract

ABSTRAK Hal penting yang akan diteliti ini adalah perjuangan tokoh perempuan dalam melawan ketidakadilan jender. Objek yang akan diteliti adalah naskah drama Marsinah Menggugat karya Ratna Sarumpaet.Sasaran atau objek yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah progresivitas perjuangan perempuan.Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metodekualitatif.Data yang dijadikan objek penelitian adalah kalimat-kalimat dalam teksdrama Marsinah Menggugat karya Ratna Sarumpaet yang memperlihatkan peristiwa-peristiwa bentuk ketertindasan perempuan dan progresivitas perjuangan perempuan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif.Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran secara jelas mengenai perjuangan tokoh perempuan pada naskah drama Marsinah Menggugat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan:1) Fenomena ketertindasan perempuan yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini adalah marginalisasi, subordinasi, kekerasan fisik dan psikis. 2) Perjuangan perempuan dalam memperjuangkan haknya, Tokoh Marsinah yang telah dengan berani memperjuangkan haknya dan hak buruh lainnya, salah satunya dengan menggerakkkan aksi demosntrasi. 3) Progresivitas perempuan dalam memperjuangkan haknya dalam naskah drama Marsinah Menggugat karya Rartna Sarumpaet dapat dilihat jelas dari perkembangan arah perjuangan yang dilakukan Marsinah dari waktu ke waktu. Berawal dari memperjuangkan hidup, kemudian berkembang menjadi memperjuangkan hak pendidikan, kemudian perjuangan dalam menegakkan keadilan dalam pekerjaan, lalu berkembang lagi menjadi perjuangan dalam menuntut hak-hak buruh. Tokoh Marsinah dalam drama ini merupakan tokoh perempuan yang progresif dan revolusioner, yang berani merumuskan format gerakan buruh untuk mengatasi persoalan ekonomi. Marsinah merupakan contoh bahwa ada keharusan bagi kaum perempuan untuk tidak berdiam diri melihat ketertindasan kaumnya.     Kata kunci: progresivitas perempuan,  jender,  drama marsinah menggugat,feminisme.

Abstract

This purpose of this study was to know the quality of learning and mathematical literacy ability reviewed from the students’ cognitive style in learning by using Mind mapping Learning Model with Constructivism approach. The method in this study used a mixed method with concurrent embedded design. This research conducted on VII grade students of SMP Negeri 40 Semarang in the academic year 2017/2018. To collecting data was done by tests, interviews, and observation sheets. The quality of learning reviwed by few stages were planning, implementation and assessment. The result of test matematical literacy ability were analyzed by quantitatively with a mean test, classical completeness test, proportion difference test and mean difference test. Students were grouped based on their cognitive style characteristics consisting of field dependent and field independent which chose four students to be interviewed. The results of the study showed; (1) learning with mind mapping model with constructivism approachs on mathematical literacy ability is good qualified which were indicated by; (a) learning tools that have been compiled are valid, (b) the level of implementation in the learning process is a good category; and (c) the assessment of learning outcomes takes place effectively (2) The mathematical literacy ability with field dependent cognitive style were able to master four indicators from the six indicators of mathematical literacy abilities and the other two indicators include representation and reasoning and argumentation have been less able to be mastered. Students with a field independent cognitive style were able to master all indicators of mathematical literacy ability and did not have constraints on indicators.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of learning with Discovery Learning scaffolding strategies to students' mathematical literacy. This research uses mixed method research with embedded concurrent design of the method of research that combines the use of quantitative and qualitative research methods simultaneously or together but different weighting methods. The instrument used in this study in the form of instrument tests and interviews. Data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, draw conclusions and validity of the data. Mathematical literacy as measured in this study is limited to the domain that is communication, mathematising, representation, reasoning and argument, devising strategies for solving the problem of as, using symbolic, mathematics tools. Indicators to measure self efficacy, namely magnitude, strength, generality. The results showed that: (1) Learning Discovery Learning scaffolding strategy of good quality at the planning, implementation and evaluation of learning, (2) Students at a low self efficacy group can not achieve good indicator of mathematical literacy, namely communication, mathematising, representation, devising strategies for solving problems and using mathematics tools, reasoning and argument, and using symbolic, formal and technical language (3) Students who have medium self efficacy was can achieve good indicator of communication, mathematising, representation, devising strategies for solving problems and using mathematics tools, and reasoning and argument. But still there is a mistake in using symbolic, formal and technical language.(4) Students who have high self efficacy can achieve good indicator of communication, mathematising, representation, devising strategies for solving problems and using mathematics tools, and reasoning and argument.

Abstract

Mathematical connection ability and self-efficacy are important for students possess in learning mathematics. A learning model is needed that can help students improve their mathematical connection ability and self-efficacy, namely IDEAL Problem Solving assisted by ICT. The research aims (1) to determine the quality of IDEAL Problem Solving assisted by ICT on students’ mathematical connection ability and (2) to determine students' mathematical connection ability based on self-efficacy. The study used a mixed method with a quantitative first stage and continued qualitatively. The student population is students of class X SMA N 6 Semarang with two sample classes. The results showed that (1) IDEAL Problem Solving learning assisted by ICT is quality for students' mathematical connection ability; (2) students with high self-efficacy have mathematical connection ability in all four indicators, students with medium self-efficacy, almost have all indicators of mathematical connection ability but on indicators connecting mathematical concepts with daily life, students have not fulfilled these indicators well, while students with low self-efficacy do not yet have complete mathematical connection ability for all indicators.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to test the quality of SSCS learning with a contextual approach and describe the mathematical literacy skill in terms of students’ self-efficacy levels. This research was a type of mixed quantitative and qualitative research. This research was conducted at State Senior High School 1 Kendal in the academic year of 2015/2016. The research subjects were X grade students consisting of one experimental class with the SSCS learning treatment with a contextual approach and one control class. In the experimental class, it was chosen 2 students in the high, medium, and low categories based on students’ self-efficacy. Testing the quality of learning was seen from 3 stages, namely the stages of planning, implementation, and assessment. The results were obtained that SSCS learning with contextual approach is in good quality. Students with high categories for high self-efficacy and low self-efficacy can fulfill the seven components of mathematics literacy well. Students with categorization for high self-efficacy and low self-efficacy are able to fulfill the six components of mathematics literacy well but they are still lacking in the reasoning and argument components. Students with low categories for high or low self-efficacy both have good skills in the communication component but are lacking in the other six components of mathematical literacy.
