Abstract

This study aims to examine the factors influencing the adoption of learning technologies in higher education and to develop a comprehensive understanding of how individual, institutional, and technological factors interact in supporting successful technology integration. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected through semi-structured, in-depth interviews with lecturers and students at an Indonesian higher education institution. The interview data were analyzed using thematic analysis involving data reduction, coding, categorization, and interpretation to identify recurring patterns and key themes related to technology adoption. The findings reveal seven major factors influencing learning technology adoption: (1) users’ digital competence, (2) institutional support and management policies, (3) perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, (4) availability of technological infrastructure, (5) quality of digital learning content, (6) technical support services, and (7) individual motivation and learning habits. The results indicate that successful technology adoption is determined not only by technological readiness but also by organizational commitment and users’ adaptive capacities. This study contributes to the literature by proposing a multidimensional perspective that integrates individual, institutional, and technological determinants of learning technology adoption in higher education. The findings have practical implications for policymakers and university leaders in designing sustainable strategies to enhance the implementation of digital learning

Abstract

As social media becomes increasingly integrated into higher education, limited empirical research has examined its role in developing religious digital literacy and communication skills among prospective Islamic teachers. This study examines the impact of the 30HariBersuara project, a social media–based video learning innovation, on the religious digital literacy and public speaking competencies of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) students. The study employed a quantitative one-group posttest design with a retrospective pretest involving 97 matched student responses. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire measuring five dimensions: self-confidence and public speaking, literacy and insight, creativity and content production, readiness for the teaching profession, and self-development. The findings revealed an increase in the overall mean score from 3.31 (moderate) to 4.16 (high), representing a gain score of 0.85. The greatest improvement was observed in the literacy and insight dimension (0.99), followed by self-confidence and public speaking (0.89). These findings suggest that social media–based video learning can effectively strengthen students' religious digital literacy and communication competencies while preparing them for their future roles as Islamic educators in the digital era.

Abstract

Although interactive digital learning media have received considerable attention in Islamic religious education, studies that specifically discuss the development of Canva-based interactive media on the topic of combined and shortened prayers in Madrasah Tsanawiyah remain limited. This study aims to develop and test the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of Canva-based interactive learning media in fiqh learning on the topic of combined and shortened prayers in seventh grade. This study used a research and development approach with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected from three expert validators, namely material, media, and language experts, as well as 32 students from the trial class VII.6 and 30 students from the research class VII.7 at MTsN 7 Agam. The research instruments included validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test questions, and the data were then analyzed descriptively using a Likert percentage scale. The results showed that the developed learning media had a very high level of validity in the aspects of material at 100%, media at 96%, and language at 100%. The practicality of the media was also in the very high category, as indicated by teacher responses of 100% in both classes and student responses of 96.72% and 98.55%. The effectiveness of the media was very high, with an increase in learning outcomes from 71.03% to 94.13% in the trial class and from 70.76% to 95.38% in the research class, as well as an overall effectiveness of 94.75%. These findings contribute to the development of Canva-based interactive learning media in fiqh learning and expand the application of the ADDIE model in the context of Islamic religious education. The conclusion of this study affirms that Canva-based interactive learning media are feasible, practical, and effective for use as an alternative fiqh learning medium that is accessible, engaging, and supportive of improving students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

Thesis Title: “POAC-Based (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling) Facilities and Infrastructure Management in Support of the Development of Islamic Educational Institutions at MTI Canduang” This thesis was written by Rafiqa Witri Asri, Student Identification Number 10222017, Islamic Education Management Study Program, Postgraduate Program, Universitas Islam Negeri Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi. This study was motivated by the importance of facilities and infrastructure management in improving the quality of educational services and supporting the increased student admission capacity at Madrasah Tarbiyah Islamiyah (MTI) Canduang. The growing public interest in MTI Canduang requires effective facilities and infrastructure management, not only in providing adequate educational facilities but also in ensuring service sustainability through the systematic implementation of management functions. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling (POAC) functions in facilities and infrastructure management and to identify the factors determining their effectiveness in supporting the institution's capacity development. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design to examine the implementation of the Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling (POAC) functions in facilities and infrastructure management at Madrasah Tarbiyah Islamiyah (MTI) Canduang. The research informants consisted of foundation leaders, boarding school leaders, facilities and infrastructure managers, teachers, and students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, document analysis, and supporting surveys. Data trustworthiness was ensured through triangulation, while data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, including data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing, and verification. The findings reveal that the effectiveness of facilities and infrastructure management is determined by the institution's ability to integrate actual needs, financial capacity, and stakeholder participation into the Planning process. Well-defined organizational arrangements, supported by effective coordination among managers, adaptive utilization of facilities, and continuous monitoring, contribute significantly to optimizing facilities and infrastructure management in supporting increased student admission capacity. Theoretically, this study strengthens the application of the POAC management framework within the context of facilities and infrastructure management in Islamic boarding school-based educational institutions by demonstrating that the effectiveness of each management function depends on the integration of management processes rather than on the isolated implementation of individual functions. The novelty of this study lies in the development of a POAC implementation model that links facilities and infrastructure management with student admission capacity as an indicator of institutional performance, thereby providing a new perspective for the development of sustainable and quality-oriented Islamic educational management.

Abstract

This study examines students’ acceptance of the Academic Information System Platform (SIAKAD) at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Kerinci by extending the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with the construct of scientific sanad. Using a quantitative cross-sectional survey design, data were collected from 306 active students selected through purposive sampling and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The findings indicate that students’ acceptance of SIAKAD is generally moderate to high. Attitude Toward Using was the strongest predictor of Behavioral Intention to Use (β = 0.618; p < 0.001), while Sanad Urgency significantly influenced Perceived Ease of Use (β = 0.726; p < 0.001), Perceived Usefulness (β = 1.358; p < 0.001), and Behavioral Intention to Use (β = 0.190; p = 0.008). Conversely, Self-Efficacy showed a significant negative effect on Perceived Usefulness (β = −0.436; p < 0.001). These results suggest that integrating scientific sanad into academic platforms is not merely a technical innovation but also an epistemological need in Islamic higher education. This study contributes to TAM literature by incorporating Islamic scholarly authority into technology acceptance research and offers practical implications for developing a Digital Sanad feature in SIAKAD.

Abstract

The low learning motivation of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Sungai Pua, Agam Regency, is associated with instruction that remains dominated by conventional methods, resulting in students being less active and less interested in participating in the learning process. This study aimed to analyze the effect of using artificial intelligence (AI)-based learning media through Quizizz on students’ learning motivation. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent control group design. The study population comprised all 42 seventh-grade students in the 2025/2026 academic year. The sample was selected through purposive sampling, with class VII-1 serving as the experimental group and class VII-2 as the control group, each consisting of 21 students. Data were collected using a Likert-scale learning motivation questionnaire comprising 20 statement items based on Hamzah B. Uno’s six indicators of learning motivation. The data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, an independent-samples t-test, a paired-samples t-test, and N-gain analysis. The results showed that the mean learning motivation score in the experimental group increased from 42.76 to 85.33, whereas that in the control group increased from 44.62 to 72.90. The independent-samples t-test showed a significant difference between the two groups (p < 0.05), whereas the paired-samples t-test in the experimental group showed a significant increase (p < 0.001). The N-gain score of the experimental group reached 0.7451, categorized as high, which was greater than the control group’s score of 0.5071, categorized as moderate. Thus, the use of AI-based learning media through Quizizz had a significant effect on increasing students’ learning motivation. These findings reinforce the importance of using technology-based learning media as an alternative for increasing students’ active participation and motivation in the learning process.
