Abstract

This study examines the contextualization of existentialist philosophy—rooted in the thoughts of Jean-Paul Sartre and Søren Kierkegaard—within the framework of education in the digital era. The study employs a qualitative literature review approach, analyzing reputable journals and philosophical texts to explore existentialist concepts and their integration into contemporary education. The research reveals that existentialist principles, such as freedom, responsibility, and the search for meaning, align with the characteristics of digitalization in education, particularly in fostering autonomy and self-awareness among learners. It also highlights the role of educators in mediating the application of existentialism to ensure a balance between the positive and negative impacts of digital freedom. The findings emphasize that digital tools can enhance educational practices by encouraging critical thinking, individuality, and ethical responsibility, resonating with existentialist ideals. However, challenges remain in addressing potential individualism and misuse of digital platforms. The study concludes that the adaptation of existentialist philosophy offers valuable insights for navigating the transformative landscape of digital education while promoting holistic personal development.

Abstract

This research explores the development of the Western educational philosophy tradition divided into three main eras: ancient, medieval, and modern. In the ancient era, the thought of Plato and Aristotle provided a significant philosophical basis. Plato put forward the concept of the world of ideas as the foundation of reality and the goal of education to form wise leaders, while Aristotle introduced logic and scientific approaches that became the foundation of rational thinking. In the Middle Ages, Thomas Aquinas' thought was dominated by combining Christian theology and Aristotelian philosophy in the academic tradition. This thought emphasizes the harmonization of reason and faith and contributes to the synthesis between religious belief and rationality. The modern era is marked by a paradigm shift through the thought of John Locke, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi. Locke emphasized the importance of experience in character formation, basing his theory on tabula rasa. Rousseau introduced a natural educational approach that focuses on the development of children according to their nature. Meanwhile, Pestalozzi prioritized morality and intellectuality as the main goals of education. Using a qualitative approach through a literature review, this paper highlights the contribution of each era to the evolution of educational philosophy. The results show that the development of the Western educational philosophy tradition reflects an ongoing effort to understand the relationship between individuals, knowledge, and society, and provides guidance for contemporary educational practice.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of supervision in improving teacher performance, student academic achievement, and raising awareness of the importance of effective supervision in every aspect of school management. The research method used is a literature study, analyzing references from articles, journals, and other sources from the internet. The results indicate that effective supervision plays a crucial role in creating successful schools. Therefore, school management should invest time and resources in the training and development of supervisors, enabling them to provide the necessary support to teachers, principals, and education supervisors to achieve optimal educational goals. More broadly, the study shows that supervision is not merely an administrative task but an integral part of teacher professional development and the overall improvement of educational quality. Properly trained supervisors can directly impact teacher performance, which in turn contributes to student academic achievement. Thus, it is essential for all stakeholders—including government, school administrators, and communities—to understand that effective supervision is key to creating a conducive and high-quality learning environment. Educational success depends not only on curriculum or facilities but also on a well-functioning and sustainable supervision system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of supervision in Islamic education, focusing on its understanding and implementation to improve the quality of education through professional guidance for educators. The method used in this research is literature review, which involves gathering and analyzing written sources relevant to the research topic. The results of the study show that Islamic educational supervision can be understood as a form of professional guidance that provides opportunities for teachers to develop, improve, and enhance the quality of classroom teaching. This supervision emphasizes Islamic values, not only as a tool to monitor or assess teacher performance but also as an effort to encourage the holistic development of teachers' competencies, both in technical teaching aspects and in the development of character and spirituality. Islamic educational supervision aims to help educators improve their performance by emphasizing harmonious relationships between superiors and subordinates, as well as improving the quality of teaching and learning based on religious values. Therefore, this supervision is not only focused on administrative or managerial aspects but also serves as an integral process in shaping the professionalism and character of educators in accordance with Islamic teachings, which in turn will have a positive impact on the overall quality of education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the continued relevance of perennialism and divine education theories in the context of 21st-century education, which is confronted with a multitude of global, social, and technological challenges. This study employs a qualitative research approach through library research to examine the educational concepts proposed by philosophers Sayyed Hossein Nasr, Khosrow Bagheri, and Zohreh Khosravi. These philosophers emphasize the importance of spiritual, moral, and character dimensions in education, in addition to intellectual aspects. The tenets of Perennialism and Divine Theory posit that authentic knowledge is immutable and unaffected by the vicissitudes of time. They place emphasis on the cultivation of character and spiritual understanding derived from divine teachings. This research analyzes texts related to the thoughts of the three philosophers to understand how education can be integrated with spiritual and divine values in order to form a generation that is not only competent in academic aspects, but also has spiritual and moral depth. The results demonstrate that the application of the concepts of Perennialism and Divine in modern education can help shape individuals who are balanced between intellectual intelligence and high character qualities, making it relevant and important in addressing contemporary educational challenges.

Abstract

This study employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach. Literature review research is a method aimed at analyzing and synthesizing information available from various literature sources. In differentiated learning, the teacher's role is crucial in determining the success of the learning process. Teachers must be creative in selecting models, techniques, and strategies that encourage active student participation, thereby improving the quality of classroom learning. The Merdeka Belajar (Freedom to Learn) program highlights the importance of adapting instructions to diverse needs, skills, interests, and learning preferences of students. This idea aligns with the philosophy of the Merdeka Curriculum, which grants educators the autonomy to create learning experiences that are more adaptable and contextually relevant. In practice, differentiated learning requires offering a variety of approaches, resources, and evaluation techniques based on the unique needs and capabilities of each student. While differentiated learning has the potential to enhance students' enthusiasm and engagement, its implementation faces challenges, including limited resources, inadequate teacher understanding, and inconsistent institutional support. Therefore, to facilitate the application of more individualized and flexible teaching methods, it is essential to improve teacher preparation programs and provide adequate facilities

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of implementing the practice of tadarus Qur’an in fostering learning discipline among students at SMP Negeri 10 Palembang. The research employs a case study design and qualitative methodology. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving 70 students who regularly participated in tadarus activities, along with three teachers who assisted in the implementation. The data analysis technique employed involved stages of data collection, data presentation, verification, and conclusion drawing. The findings of the study highlight the significance of tadarus Al-Qur'an activities in enhancing students' learning discipline, as evidenced by increased attentiveness during class, consistency in completing assignments, and punctuality. Daily recitation of the Qur'an helps students develop good time management skills and greater focus on academic work. Students who cultivate this habit are also more likely to grow into disciplined and responsible adults. Furthermore, the study revealed that teacher support in implementing tadarus has a significant impact on how effectively this practice improves student discipline. Regular tadarus Al-Qur'an activities can be further developed to better support students' academic discipline
