Abstract

This research is motivated by the challenges of sustainable education financing in vocational high schools, which demand managerial innovation based on educational entrepreneurship. Edupreneurship is viewed as a strategic approach oriented not only toward strengthening student competencies but also toward improving school performance and the sustainability of education financing. This study aims to examine in depth how edupreneurship management is implemented to improve performance and financial sustainability at SMK Negeri 1 Glagah Banyuwangi. The research employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies, then analyzed using interactive qualitative data analysis techniques that included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that edupreneurship management integrated with practical learning, production units, and teaching factories can improve school performance while simultaneously strengthening sources of sustainable education financing. Edupreneurship functions as a mutually reinforcing pedagogical and economic instrument within the school management system. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of strengthening institutional policies, school leadership, and curriculum integration as prerequisites for the success of edupreneurship in supporting sustainable vocational education financing.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of parental collaboration based on criteria derived from quality management and institutional resilience frameworks in Islamic boarding school–based junior high schools. The research aims to analyze how parental collaboration contributes to strengthening quality management practices and enhancing institutional resilience in responding to internal and external challenges. Employing a qualitative research approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using quality management perspectives developed by Deming and Juran. The findings reveal that parental collaboration plays a strategic and potential role in reinforcing the foundations of quality management and supporting institutional recovery and improvement following periods of resilience. Effective partnerships between parents and educational institutions are shown to enhance service quality, strengthen institutional components, and build a positive organizational image through both internal and external social relationships. Furthermore, in the context of boarding school–based institutions, intensive institutional objectives foster stronger branding ties between parents and schools, contributing to sustainable quality improvement and long-term institutional resilience.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology presents new ethical challenges in education, such as social media misuse and low digital moral awareness. This study aims to examine how Islamic Education (PAI) values can be integrated into school curricula to foster students’ digital ethics, while considering educational management dimensions. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving teachers, students, and school leaders. The findings reveal three main patterns: internalization of spiritual values through digital literacy, cross-subject collaboration in applying Islamic values, and habituation of digital ethics within the school culture. Integrating PAI values enhances students’ moral awareness and digital responsibility. The study’s contribution lies in proposing a value-based curriculum model that aligns spiritual education with digital competence. Practically, schools are encouraged to strengthen teacher training and implement curriculum policies that promote ethically responsible digital literacy.

Abstract

This study analyzes the use of gamification in the GO Expert App for learning English as a foreign language, focusing on students' perceptions and the factors that support and inhibit its use. A qualitative approach was employed, using thematic analysis according to Creswell & Creswell (2023). The participants in this study were five twelfth-grade students from Ganesha Operation, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and then analyzed using the six steps of thematic analysis. The results of this study indicate that students hold a positive perception of gamification in the GO Expert App. Elements such as leaderboards, points, stars, and timed quizzes are considered capable of increasing motivation to learn, fostering a competitive spirit, and encouraging students to be more active in English learning activities. Additionally, students rated learning through this App more engaging and less monotonous than conventional methods at their school. Practice questions with immediate feedback help students understand English material independently and continuously. The study also identified supporting factors such as peer support, teacher guidance, attractive features, ease of use of the App, and immediate feedback, which contribute to behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement in learning. However, there are inhibiting factors, including technical issues, unclear features, cognitive load from long texts, and distractions from other applications on students' mobile devices. Overall, this study concludes that gamification in the GO Expert App plays an important role in enhancing students' motivation, engagement, and understanding in learning English as a foreign language. However, improvements in technical aspects and design are needed to optimize its use.

Abstract

This study examines vocabulary teaching strategies used by an English teacher in a special education setting for students with hearing impairments in Indonesia, specifically at SLB Negeri Wonomulyo. Vocabulary is a fundamental component of language learning; however, students with hearing impairments encounter particular challenges due to limited auditory access, restricted language exposure, and diverse learning characteristics. These conditions often affect students’ ability to understand, retain, and use new vocabulary effectively. Therefore, implementing inclusive and adaptive instructional strategies is essential to support effective vocabulary acquisition and meaningful language learning. A qualitative descriptive research design was employed to obtain an in-depth understanding of instructional practices in the classroom. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with the English teacher and teaching assistant, and documentation of teaching materials used during the learning process. The collected data were analyzed thematically to identify recurring instructional patterns, teaching procedures, and vocabulary teaching strategies applied in the classroom context. The findings reveal that vocabulary instruction is conducted through several integrated strategies. These include individualized instruction tailored to students’ ability levels, multisensory learning through visual media, printed pictures, gestures, and Total Physical Response (TPR), collaboration with a teaching assistant to support classroom instruction and student engagement, and step-by-step instruction reinforced through frequent repetition. In addition, the teacher prioritizes the selection of functional vocabulary closely related to students’ daily lives in order to enhance meaningful learning, improve comprehension, and encourage practical language use in real-life situations. The study highlights that effective vocabulary instruction for students with hearing impairments relies on flexible, student-centered, and collaborative teaching practices. The findings provide empirical evidence supporting inclusive English language teaching in special education contexts and offer practical implications for teachers, practitioners, and future researchers working with learners with hearing impairments.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) in enhancing speaking skills among 29 EFL junior secondary students at SMPN 3 Polongbangkeng Utara, Indonesia. Involving 29 junior high school students, this research employs a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The results revealed that TBLT significantly improved students' speaking proficiency. The mean score for the pre-test was 34.90 (SD = 10.844), while the post-test mean score increased to 68.83 (SD = 11.680). A paired-sample t-test confirmed a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores (t = 21.95, p < .001), indicating a substantial enhancement in speaking skills following the implementation of TBLT. The calculated effect size of Cohen's d = 2.99 supports the conclusion that TBLT had a large and significant impact on the improvement of students' speaking abilities. This significant improvement suggests that TBLT provides an effective method for boosting speaking proficiency in language learners. Furthermore, the results underline the importance of using meaningful tasks that encourage active language use and communication in real-world contexts. The findings offer strong evidence that TBLT can be a highly effective approach to enhance speaking skills, especially in contexts where traditional teaching methods may fall short. Generally, the study reveals that TBLT can lead to significant improvements in students' speaking skills, offering valuable insights into its potential as an instructional strategy for language learning. Abstract

Wortel (Daucus carota L.) adalah produk hortikultura yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi di Indonesia. Penentuan kualitas wortel sangat penting dalam menentukan harga jual, namun proses klasifikasi kualitas secara manual sering tidak efisien dan konsisten. Dengan perkembangan teknologi, metode pengolahan citra digital dan kecerdasan buatan seperti Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) menawarkan solusi untuk mengotomatisasi klasifikasi kualitas wortel. Penelitian ini mengembangkan sistem klasifikasi kualitas wortel menggunakan metode CNN. Dataset terdiri dari 450 gambar wortel yang dibagi menjadi tiga kategori kualitas: baik, sedang, dan buruk. Model CNN dirancang dengan beberapa lapisan konvolusi, pooling, dan fully connected, menggunakan fungsi aktivasi ReLU dan softmax. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model CNN mampu mengklasifikasikan kualitas wortel dengan akurasi tinggi, mencapai akurasi validasi hingga 94% pada epoch ke-50. Implementasi metode ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan akurasi dalam proses sortasi wortel, serta berkontribusi pada standarisasi kualitas di industri pertanian.

Abstract

This research examines the implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) for the creation of an Indonesian e-commerce buyer dashboard in 2024 with the aim of increasing the visibility of operational KPI and demonstrating a reproducible pipeline from data cleaning to visualization. The main issues addressed are the quality of order-level data (provincial writing variants, date format, numerical values, and PII anonymization) as well as the need to calculate buyer metrics (unique buyers, repeat rate) which is rarely ava1ilable in public aggregate data. The methods used include: (1) data cleaning and harmonizing using OpenRefine; (2) numerical transformation and validation with Python (pandas); (3) creating interactive worksheets and dashboards in Tableau (sales map per province; monthly trend line; bar with avg sales per product; sales pie by gender); and (4) sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of cleaning step variation on buyer-level KPI. Using the order-level dataset of cleaning results (1,000 transactions), a total revenue of Rp 2,298,975,000, 1,000 orders, and 178 unique buyers were found; seasonal patterns were seen with a peak in the fourth quarter and revenue concentration in urban areas (DKI Jakarta, West Java). The top-10 products contribute a significant portion of revenue, and repeat buyers show an important role in the sales structure

Abstract

Penurunan skor Global Peace Index menegaskan urgensi pendidikan kewarganegaraan global untuk mendorong sikap toleransi dan cinta damai. Program pengabdian ini dirancang untuk menginternalisasikan Global Citizenship Education di SMK Assalam Bantur, Kabupaten Malang, guna memperkuat karakter siswa yang inklusif, toleran, dan berorientasi pada perdamaian. Intervensi dilakukan melalui pembelajaran yang mengombinasikan sosialisasi dan workshop, pemutaran film dokumenter bertema kerukunan dan toleransi serta diikuti diskusi reflektif. Peserta berjumlah 30 siswa. Evaluasi menggunakan desain pre-test dan post-test, observasi partisipatif, serta umpan balik terstruktur dari siswa. Kegiatan ini memperkaya praktik pendidikan perdamaian di lingkungan sekolah berbasis pesantren dengan memadukan pendekatan kognitif, afektif, dan ekspresif yang relevan dengan konteks lokal. Luaran yang ditargetkan meliputi peningkatan pengetahuan dan sikap toleran siswa, materi ajar, dokumentasi kegiatan, serta diseminasi ke media online dan artikel jurnal pengabdian. Program ini sejalan dengan prioritas Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Brawijaya dalam penguatan inovasi kelembagaan dan kebijakan. Kegiatan ini juga mendukung SDG 16 tentang perdamaian, keadilan, dan kelembagaan yang tangguh, sekaligus memperkaya praktik pendidikan perdamaian di sekolah mitra.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how Majelis Taklim Darusshofa, an Islamic da'wah group, carries out da'wah, the methods they use, and how they help bring about social change in the city of Medan. As an Islamic da'wah institution operating in an urban environment, Majelis Taklim Darusshofa faces urban dynamics characterized by high population mobility, socio-cultural diversity, and the increasing use of digital technology. This study uses qualitative and descriptive methods, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with administrators and congregants, and documentation of activities taking place at the majelis taklim. The research findings show that Majelis Taklim Darusshofa uses flexible da'wah methods, such as the use of digital media, relevant religious guidance according to the needs of city residents, and strengthening community solidarity in response to the changes brought about by modern urban life. Their da'wah not only spreads Islamic values but also plays a role in shaping the religious character of the city's residents, strengthening social resilience, and directing behavioral changes in a more positive direction. In short, the Majelis Taklim Darusshofa has a strategic function in maintaining the continuity of religious life while also serving as a space for social transformation amidst urban change in Medan.
