Abstract

Anak tunarungu menghadapi tantangan besar dalam perkembangan bahasa dan komunikasi, terutama ketika mengalami keterlambatan bicara dan tidak memperoleh penguasaan bahasa isyarat secara optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dampak dari dua kondisi tersebut terhadap perkembangan psikososial dan akademik anak tunarungu. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif berbasis studi literatur, artikel ini mengkaji faktor-faktor penyebab keterlambatan bicara, rendahnya kemampuan bahasa isyarat, serta dampak jangka panjang yang ditimbulkannya. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa keterlambatan penguasaan bahasa menyebabkan hambatan komunikasi yang serius, menimbulkan isolasi sosial, gangguan emosional, dan penurunan kepercayaan diri. Secara akademik, anak tunarungu mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami materi pelajaran dan berpartisipasi aktif di sekolah, sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya prestasi belajar. Dampak jangka panjangnya mencakup keterbatasan dalam dunia kerja dan relasi sosial, serta risiko rendahnya kualitas hidup. Oleh karena itu, penting dilakukan intervensi dini dan penyediaan pendidikan inklusif berbasis bahasa isyarat untuk mendukung perkembangan anak tunarungu secara optimal. Bahasa bukan hanya alat komunikasi, tetapi juga hak dasar anak untuk tumbuh, belajar, dan membangun identitas diri.

Abstract

Kelompok peternak Mindhatama di Desa Karanglo, Kecamatan Cilongok, Kabupaten Banyumas telah cukup lama memelihara domba dan saat ini telah berkembang pada usaha produksi hijauan rumput odot. Untuk mendukung produktivitas hijauan pakan dibutuhkan kompos yang berasal dari kotoran domba. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat bertujuan melatih pembuatan pupuk organik dengan karakteristik unggul dan proses lebih singkat. Kegiatan pengabdian merupakan kaji tindak melalui pembuatan demplot dengan metode deskriptif sederhana. Materi pupuk organik padat adalah kotoran domba dengan bahan tambahan abu sekam, serbuk gergaji, kapur dolomit, molases, mikroorganisme lokal (MOL). Mikroorganisme lokal mengandung 6 jenis basilus dan 9 jenis bakteri lain serta yeast dalam bentuk serbuk. Pembuatan pupuk organik dilakukan di rumah kompos yang dibangun melalui gotong royong kelompok dan tim pengabdi. Kompos yang dipanen pada umur 21 hari kriteria berwarna hitam,  kadar air 20%, pH 7.6, kadar bahan organik 40% dan rasio C:N sebesar 26. Pengetahuan dan ketrampilan peternak tentang pembuatan kompos berbahan feses domba mengalami peningkatan setelah mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian. Pembuatan kompos sebagai upaya menginisiasi terbentuknya lumbung pakan di kelompok peternak berhasil dengan baik. Kriteria kompos mendekati standar mutu pupuk padat Kementan dan saat diaplikasikan mampu mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman odot dan cabai.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this investigation is to explore the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English language education, focusing on teachers' perspectives on the positive and negative aspects of implementing AI in EFL classrooms; ways in which AI supports teachers' instructional practices, engages students in learning, and impacts teachers’ own pedagogical practices in addition to the ethical and professional implications of its use.Methodology: This study utilized a descriptive qualitative research methodology. The data were obtained through twelve semi-structured interviews with English language teachers working at one of the private universities in the English department in Indonesia. The participants were intentionally sampled based on their exposure to AI-supported instructional tools. The qualitative data were then analysed thematically to investigate the perceptions teachers had based on recurring themes and categories related to their experiences, challenges, and reflections about AI in education.Results: The findings indicated that AI offers remarkable advantages, including increased teaching efficiency, personalized support for learners, and heightened student motivation. However, the study identified several challenges, including limitations in teacher training, ethical implications related to data collection, technological constraints, and a potential reduction in human interaction. The findings suggest that the effectiveness of AI integration relies not only on teachers but also on administrators, policies, and ethical positions. Applications/Originality/Value: This research sheds light on the human-centered use of AI in language education. Utilizing Humanistic Learning Theory and the TPACK framework, it demonstrates how teachers can uphold empathy, authenticity, and pedagogical balance in the wake of emerging technology. These insights matter for policy design and professional development of eco-sustainable practices for using AI-enhanced instruction.

Abstract

The proliferation of English immersion programs in Indonesian secondary education necessitates empirical examination of their long-term effectiveness in preparing graduates for higher education demands. This qualitative phenomenological study investigates the sustained effects of senior high school English immersion programs on graduates' communicative competence and academic achievement in Indonesian university contexts. Through in-depth interviews with eight purposively selected program graduates (currently pursuing higher education across diverse disciplines and institutions), this research examines lived experiences of transitioning from immersion secondary education to English-medium instruction in universities. Phenomenological analysis following Moustakas (1994) revealed five essential themes: immersive environment as linguistic foundation, multidimensional communicative competence development, strategic advantages in higher education transition, sustained academic performance benefits, and confidence development as English users. Findings demonstrate that well-designed immersion programs develop integrated communicative competence across grammatical, sociolinguistic, discourse, and strategic dimensions, which transfers effectively to higher education contexts and contributes to graduates' academic success, intercultural competence, and expanded career opportunities. The study contributes empirical evidence from Indonesian EFL contexts regarding sustained immersion outcomes, validates Canale's (1983) communicative competence framework in immersion settings, and provides evidence-based recommendations for secondary and higher education stakeholders. Implications address program design, equity concerns, and the integration of language learning with identity development in Indonesian educational contexts.

Abstract

The rapid digitalization of education has positioned web-based games as powerful tools in language learning. However, while their use in traditional classrooms is well-researched, their application within the burgeoning private English tutoring sector in Indonesia remains significantly underexplored. This study addressed this gap by examining the implementation, perceptions, and outcomes of using British Council educational games in private English instruction in Surakarta, Indonesia. The research aimed to understand how tutors adapt these games for individual needs, explore student experiences in a one-on-one context, and identify the unique challenges and benefits that differ from classroom settings. Adopting a qualitative research design, this study employed in-depth case studies of three private English tutors and nine of their students in Surakarta. Data collection utilized semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis to provide rich, contextual insights into the implementation and experiences of game-based learning in personalized instruction environments. Data was analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns, themes, and categories that emerged from participants' experiences. The findings revealed valuable insights into effective pedagogical strategies. Tutors were found to use selective integration and real-time adaptation, while students reported high motivation due to personalized challenges and a low-pressure environment. These findings inform tutor training programs and provide evidence-based guidance for leveraging educational technology in the private tutoring industry.

Abstract

This study evaluates the distribution and condition of vegetation within the green belts of Medan City Center in 2025 by employing the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) derived from Sentinel-2 satellite imagery, supplemented by field verification through purposive sampling. The analysis reveals that the findings indicate that non-vegetated category (NDVI < 0.1) dominated, encompassing 12,240.98 hectares or approximately 43.98%, whereas the dense vegetation class (NDVI 0.3–0.4) represents the smallest portion, covering only 3,009.70 hectares (10.81%) of the total area.Vegetation index values within these urban corridors range from a maximum of 0.55 to a minimum of -0.04, where lower values are predominantly associated with built-up areas and open land, while higher values are restricted to riparian buffers and fragmented green spaces. Spatial pattern analysis, utilizing a 500-meter buffer, highlights significant disparities in vegetation distribution and underscores the mounting pressure of urbanization, which has compromised the ecological functions of the city’s green infrastructure. Consequently, these findings emphasize the critical need for strategic planning and robust policy interventions to revitalize green open spaces as essential ecological infrastructure; therefore, the primary recommendation focuses on expanding green belt vegetation through intensification and protection efforts to ensure that ecological, social, and aesthetic functions are maintained sustainably within the Medan City Center.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study is aimed to determine: (1) the use of posters as a medium of learning at the workshop of Education Department of Civil Engineering and Planning FT UNY, (2) requirements in making posters as instructional media, and (3) Correspondence between poster as a learning media with the workshop at Department of Education of Civil Engineering and Planning FT UNY. This study Applies a descriptive approach (descriptive research). In this study, the researchers did not provide any treatment to what is observed however only describes in detail merely to what was found in the data collection. The findings of this study are (1) poster has been used as a medium of learning both in carpentry, plumbing workshop, and rock workshop. Poster is used to convey information such as personal protective equipment, work step, parts of an instrument, learning products, and K3 (2) the factors of the preconditions if poster at carpentry and rock workshop have been fulfilled. However the preconditions the form of size and color of poster at the plumbing workshop still need to be resized. In addition, the suitability factors such as ease of posters indicators in order to be easily seen in carpentry and plumbing workshop also need to be resized. Other indicators contained in preconditions factors such as expediency and suitability in the third workshop have been fulfilled. (3) The compliance of poster in carpentry, plumbing workshop, and rock workshop at the Education Department of Civil Engineering and Planning FT UNY is good. Posters are suitable to the function and purpose of each workshop. They only need resizing and repositioning. Penelitian ini menggunaan pendekatan deskriptif (descriptive reasearch). Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti tidak memberikan perlakuan terhadap apa yang diteliti tetapi hanya sebatas mendeskripsikan secara detail terhadap apa yang ditemukan dalam pengambilan data. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) Poster telah dimanfaatkan sebagai media pembelajaran baik di bengkel kayu, bengkel plambing, maupun bengkel batu. Poster digunakan untuk menyampaikan informasi alat pelindung diri, langkah kerja, bagian-bagian dari suatu alat, produk pembelajaran, maupun K3 (2) Faktor prasyarat poster di bengkel kayu dan bengkel batu sudah terpenuhi. Hanya saja untuk prasyarat berupa indikator ukuran dan warna poster di bengkel plambing masih perlu ditingkatkan. Selain itu, faktor kesesuaian berupa indikator kemudahan poster untuk terlihat di bengkel kayu dan plambing juga perlu ditingkatkan. Indikator lain yang terdapat pada faktor prasyarat, kemanfaatan, dan kesesuaian di ketiga bengkel tersebut sudah terpenuhi (3) Kesesuaian poster di bengkel kayu, bengkel plambing, dan bengkel batu di Jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Sipil dan Perencanaan FT UNY sudah baik. Poster sudah sesuai dengan fungsi dan maksud masing-masing bengkel. Hanya saja perlu adanya pembenahan dalam penempatan poster.Kata kunci: media pembelajaran, poster, bengkel

Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengungkap bagaimana pengaruh implementasi penggunaan media VidUK (Video  Unjuk  Kerja)  dalam  pembelajaran micro  teaching  aspek  tinjauan  mata  pelajaran  praktik  mampu meningkatkan keterampilan mengajar mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Sipil dan Perencanaan, FT, UNY. Kajian ini merupakan kajian tindakan kelas (classroom research). Populasi kajian ini adalah mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Sipil dan Perencanaan FT UNY yang sedang melaksanakan praktik pengajaran Mikro pada tahun 2018. Sampel kajian adalah kelas B2 sejumlah 11 mahasiswa. Kajian dilaksanakan selama tiga siklus. Tinjauan pertama adalah kemampuan membuka pelajaran, tinjauan kedua adalah penyampaian materi, tinjauan ketiga adalah evaluasi. Observasi kegiatan dilakukan oleh peneliti dengan lembar pengamatan. Penilaian keterampilan juga menggunakan lembar penilaian keterampilan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil kajian menunjukan bahwa penggunaan media VidUK (Video Unjuk Kerja) dalam pembelajaran micro teaching aspek tinjauan mata pelajaran praktik mampu meningkatkan keterampilan mengajar mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Sipil  dan  Perencanaan untuk  aspek  tinjauan kemampuan membuka pelajaran, kemampuan penyampaian materi, serta kemampuan evaluasi; penggunaan media VidUK (Video Unjuk Kerja) dalam pembelajaran micro teaching dapat dijadikan sebagai sarana demonstrasi awal guru kepada siswa sebelum demonstrasi inti dilaksanakan.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan video pembelajaran OpenStreetMap untuk pembuatan peta digital format shapefile menggunakan Spatial Manager. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam jenis penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development/R&D) yang mengacu pada model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate) oleh Thiagarajan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket yang diberikan kepada ahli materi, ahli media, dan pengguna (mahasiswa). Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian dan pengembangan media pembelajaran memperoleh kesimpulan sebagai berikut: (1) Tahap define menghasilkan kebutuhan pembelajaran tentang OpenStreetMap untuk pembuatan peta digital format shapefile menggunakan Spatial Manager; (2) Tahap design menghasilkan flowchart, storyboard, dan take video yang sesuai serta produk yang dihasilkan berupa video pembelajaran dengan teknik animasi dan screen record berformat *.mp4 yang dapat diputar di komputer/laptop maupun smartphone standar, berdurasi selama 15 menit 50 detik, dan ukuran file sebesar 56,7 MB; (3) Tahap development menghasilkan penilaian tingkat kelayakan media video pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berdasarkan penilaian oleh ahli materi adalah 90,91 % termasuk dalam kategori "layak", sedangkan penilaian oleh ahli media adalah 91,13 % termasuk dalam kategori "layak", dan penilaian pengguna (mahasiswa) adalah 86,62 % termasuk dalam kategori "layak"; (4) Tahap disseminate merupakan penyebarluasan hasil penelitian berupa produk video yang diunggah melalui platform Youtube dan memberikan file kepada pengguna.
