Abstract

Background: Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-related hypertensive disorder that remains a major contributor to maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. Non-pharmacological interventions, such as box breathing, have gained attention as complementary strategies for blood pressure control in pregnant women at risk of preeclampsia. This study aimed to examine the effect of a mobile-based box breathing intervention on blood pressure among pregnant women at risk of preeclampsia. Methods: A pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest–posttest design was conducted among 197 pregnant women recruited using purposive sampling from four hospitals in Lampung Province, Indonesia. Blood pressure was measured before and after the intervention, and data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test. Results: The mean systolic blood pressure decreased from 139.46 mmHg (SD = 14.28; range 105–195 mmHg) to 122.93 mmHg (SD = 10.91; range 96–167 mmHg), with a mean difference of 16.53 mmHg (SD = 13.43; p < 0.001). The mean diastolic blood pressure declined from 90.15 mmHg (SD = 11.90; range 56–156 mmHg) to 82.46 mmHg (SD = 8.21; range 66–106 mmHg), with a mean difference of 7.69 mmHg (SD = 10.74; p < 0.001). Conclusion: Mobile-based box breathing was associated with a significant reduction in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure among pregnant women at risk of preeclampsia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of women's independence and resilience in Furky Syahroni's social media content, which features her as an Indonesian female climber at the international level. The primary focus of this research is how narrative, visual, and symbolic strategies in TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube video uploads construct the image of women as independent, courageous, and break through gender stereotypes in extreme activities such as mountain climbing. This study uses a qualitative method with a thematic analysis of TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube content by Furky Syahroni during the period 2019–2024. Secondary data were obtained from literature, online interviews, personal blogs, and podcasts featuring Furky Syahroni. The results show that social media has become a new space for women to build a positive, equal identity in the public sphere. Furky Syahroni’s content contains educational, motivational, and courageous messages that can inspire other women to transcend social boundaries. The novelty of this research lies in the study of gender communication on the virtual platform in the context of extreme physical activities. This research contribution enriches the discourse on gender equality in digital media and demonstrates the potential of social media for women's empowerment.

Abstract

Speaking skills are crucial to learning English. However, many students still struggle to speak fluently due to anxiety, lack of confidence, and fear of making mistakes. This study aims to assess how effectively the Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) method can enhance the speaking abilities of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 06 Kaur. The research employed a quantitative, quasi-experimental design with two classes: VII-A as the experimental group and VII-B as the control group. The primary data collection tool was a speaking test, and analysis was conducted using ANOVA in SPSS version 26. The findings revealed that the experimental group showed greater improvement in speaking skills than the control group. The experimental group's pre-test scores, initially ranging from 16 to 58, increased to 50-83 in the post-test, with an average score of 60.03. In contrast, the control group's scores only rose from 8 to 58 in the pre-test to 29 to 66 in the post-test, averaging 46.34. The ANOVA results indicated an F value of 49.014, which exceeds the F table value of 4.00, and a Partial Eta Squared of 44.2%, confirming that TBLT significantly enhances students' speaking skills. Therefore, it can be concluded that the TBLT approach effectively improves the speaking skills of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 06 Kaur.

Abstract

Background: The MSM (Men who have Sex with Men) and transgender communities are key populations at high risk for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV/AIDS. This vulnerability is driven by risky sexual behaviors, low consistency in condom use, as well as stigma and discrimination that hinder access to community-friendly healthcare services. Empirical data on these issues in Baubau City remain limited, making this study essential to provide a comprehensive overview. Methods: This study employed a quantitative descriptive survey method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 60 respondents, including 54 MSM and 6 transgender individuals, selected through purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire measuring knowledge of HIV and STIs, risky sexual behaviors, and condom use. Descriptive statistics were used for data analysis. Results: The majority of respondents engaged in risky sexual behaviors, with 63% having more than one partner in the past six months, 92% having practiced anal sex, and 55% having engaged in transactional sex. Although 66.7% of respondents demonstrated a high level of knowledge about HIV and STIs, there remains a significant gap between knowledge and safe sexual practices. Consistent condom use during anal sex was reported by only 30% of respondents, and the use of water-based lubricants was similarly low. Conclusion: Risky sexual behavior remains prevalent among MSM and transgender communities in Baubau City despite relatively high knowledge levels. Condom and lubricant use is still inconsistent. Comprehensive education interventions, improved access to condoms and lubricants, and strengthened community-friendly healthcare services are necessary to promote safer sexual behaviors.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a strategic pillar for the Indonesian economy, contributing significanly the national GDP and workforce absoroption. However, MSMEs optimization is often hindered by poor internal governance, particularly inadequate financial management. Kopitiam Utama Rasa exemplifies an MSMEs still using inefficient manual recording system. This community service project aimed to address this constraint by designing and implementing a digital accounting system built on Microsoft Excel. The system encompasses essential modules such as COA, inventory, transaction form, and others. The result show that the digital system successfully enhanced the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of Kopitiam Utama Rasa’s financial reporting. With the structured system in place, the owner can now obtain accurate and timely financial information, which is crucial for precise performance assessment and long-term business viability.

Abstract

This research seeks to examine the influence of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors and Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) on financial performance and their effects on stock returns within the ASEAN banking industry. The impetus for this study arises from the growing emphasis on sustainability in the financial sector and the difficulties presented by credit risk, both of which are vital elements influencing bank performance and appeal to investors. The study population consists of banking institutions from five ASEAN nations—Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines—over the period of 2021–2023. A total of 102 valid observations were gathered through purposive sampling following the outlier examination. The variables analyzed consist of ESG, NPL, financial performance assessed by Return on Assets (ROA), and stock returns, all obtained from Bloomberg. Analysis was conducted with SmartPLS software. The results show that ESG has a positive and significant effect on both financial performance and stock returns, whereas NPLs have a negative and significant effect on these results. Conversely, stock returns are not notably influenced by financial performance. These findings indicate that ASEAN investors prioritize factors beyond profitability, emphasizing the significance of sustainability practices, effective governance, and management of credit risk. This study adds to the existing literature by supporting stakeholder theory, which asserts that the success of a corporation depends on harmonizing the interests of all stakeholders. The results urge banks to strengthen ESG practices and refine credit risk management to enhance performance and sustain investor trust in the capital markets.

Abstract

Stunting remains a major public health problem globally and in Indonesia, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life. One of the main risk factors for stunting is maternal anemia caused by iron deficiency during pregnancy. Although the government has implemented an iron supplementation program (Tablet Tambah Darah/TTD), its implementation at the primary health care level is often not accompanied by structured educational evaluation. This community service activity aimed to describe the effectiveness of structured education on iron tablet consumption in improving pregnant women’s knowledge as a preventive effort against anemia and stunting. The activity was conducted at Tekad Jaya Integrated Health Post (Posyandu), Selagik Village, under the working area of Puskesmas Rarang, on November 15, 2025, involving 15 pregnant women. A pre-experimental one group pre-test and post-test design was applied. Education was delivered through interactive lectures and discussions using leaflets and the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) handbook. Knowledge was measured using a 10-item questionnaire before and after the intervention. Scores were converted to a 0–100 scale and categorized as good (80–100), moderate (50–70), and poor (<50). The mean pre-test score was 58.7 (range 40–70), with 93.3% of participants categorized as moderate and 6.7% as poor. After the educational intervention, the mean post-test score increased to 95.3 (range 80–100), and 100% of participants achieved the good category. The average increase in knowledge score was 36.6 points. These findings indicate that structured education at the posyandu level improved pregnant women’s knowledge regarding iron tablet consumption and its role in preventing anemia and stunting. Integrating routine, measurable educational activities into primary health services may strengthen maternal awareness and support stunting prevention efforts at the community level.
