Abstract

Motivation in modern workplaces has evolved significantly over the past two decades, shaped by technological disruption, changing work paradigms, and shifting employee expectations. This study aims to systematically trace the conceptual, thematic, and collaborative development of workplace motivation research through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. Drawing on 300 peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2001 and 2021, data were sourced from Scopus and Google Scholar using the search phrase “understanding motivation in modern workplaces.” The analysis employed VOSviewer software to generate network, overlay, density, and co-authorship visualizations, while data selection followed the PRISMA framework to ensure relevance and transparency. Findings reveal a major shift from traditional constructs such as performance and job satisfaction to emerging themes including psychological well-being, digital leadership, remote work, and meaningful work. The evolution indicates a transition from incentive-based to experience-centered motivation theories, reflecting broader sociotechnical changes. However, the study also uncovers thematic blind spots—such as sustainability-related motivation and employee values—and highlights the fragmented nature of global research collaboration. These insights underscore the need for integrative, cross-disciplinary, and future-oriented frameworks in understanding motivation. This study contributes to the literature by offering a aiming to enhance engagement and well-being in increasingly digital and hybrid work environments.

Abstract

Background: Nursing students experience high stress levels because of the high demands, expectations and activities during their study. Therefore some students struggle to adapt to their college life, eventually resorting to dangerous behaviors such as self-harm, which they perceive as a coping mechanism to relieve stress. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the relationship between stress levels and self-harm incidents among active students at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya. Methods: This research design uses descriptive correlational with cross-sectional approach.  This study involved 293 students from Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya, with purposive sampling technique. The dependent variable in this study is self-harm behavior, while the independent variable is the level of stress. The instrument tools used are the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) questionnaire and DSHI (Deliberate Self Harm Inventory). Results: A total of 293 students were sampled in this study. The majority of stress levels were experienced by women, with 135 respondents experiencing moderate stress levels and 118 students having engaged in mild self-harm behavior. The results of the Spearman’s rank statistical test showed a significant correlation between stress levels and self-harm behavior (p-value = 0.004), indicating that higher levels of perceived stress are associated with a greater tendency toward self-harm Conclusion: This study concluded that the majority of students were under stress, with most perceiving themselves to be experiencing moderate stress. There is an urgent need to identify the underlying causes and implement effective management and preventive measures to mitigate the long-term negative effects of stress on students’ careers and well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the concept of education and Muhammad Natsir. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a library research approach. The results of this study explain that education is something that is very important in human life. The urgency of education makes education experts give a lot of ideas in order to improve the quality of education itself. One of the national figures who cares about the world of education is Muhammad Natsir. Muhammad Natsir contributed many thoughts inorder to advance education in Indonesia. According to Natsir, education must be based on Tauhid. Eliminating monotheism in the world of education is a very big mistake and also a very big negligence. Muhammad Natsir also offers an integral direction of education. This means that in the world of education there is no longer any separation between religion and science. Islam has a concept of not separating religion and science. Separating religion and science means opening up opportunities to secularize science and also to secularize education. The integration of science will make the science in the garden bring people to know who the creator is.

Abstract

PDAM's peak usage of clean water means that water supply to customers often stops due to insufficient distribution of discharge and pressure. To overcome the problem of insufficient water flow, the community provides a water storage tank consisting of a ground water tank and an over head water tank. PDAM water received by the public through distribution pipes has the potential to be contaminated due to the entry of pollutants from repair activities and pipe leaks. These pollutants will accumulate in the tank, causing the water quality to decline and no longer comply with the established quality standards. To prevent accumulation of pollutants in the tank, before using it, the water should be filtered first. An automatic filtration system with monitoring of turbidity and water levels is a technology that can make people's work easier and the quality of the water used is in accordance with drinking water quality standards. Data obtained from turbidity and water level sensors can also be monitored via the IoT platform. The test results of the turbidity and water level sensors have a low error so that the designed tool can be used to monitor turbidity, water level and automatic filter systems. Sending data so that it can be displayed on IoT platforms such as Blynk has also been successfully created. From 10 attempts, the Water Level Sensor gave an average error of 0.78%.
