Abstract

This study addresses the challenge of transient voltage and current surges caused by capacitor bank switching in high-voltage transmission systems, which can compromise equipment integrity and system stability. The research focuses on optimizing the mitigation of these transients in a 150 kV transmission line using the synchronous closing breaker method. Simulations were conducted in MATLAB/Simulink using actual parameters provided by the power utility. To verify the accuracy of the Simulink model and its results, validation was performed in DIgSILENT PowerFactory by comparing steady-state voltage responses following capacitor switching. With the model validated, three operating scenarios were examined: no capacitor bank, conventional capacitor bank switching, and with the implementation of synchronous closing breakers. The synchronous closing method significantly reduced transient voltage and current magnitudes compared to conventional switching. These outcomes confirm the effectiveness of the synchronous closing breaker in minimizing transient disturbances. The findings contribute to the development of improved transient mitigation strategies and offer a practical reference for large-scale capacitor bank deployment, particularly in smart grid applications. This method provides a cost-effective and scalable approach for improving power quality in modern high-voltage transmission networks.

Abstract

Employee training is an important strategy for improving a company’s human resource competency. This study aimed to analyze the effect of training on employee competency by considering control variables such as work motivation, experience, and education level. The research design was a quantitative explanatory survey. The population in this study was  42 employees of PT Carsurin Banjarbaru Branch, using a proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests (normality and multicollinearity), and multiple linear regression, with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that training had a positive and significant effect on employee competency (p < 0.05, R² = 0.65) even after controlling for motivation, experience, and education variables. No multicollinearity problems were found in the model (VIF < 10), and the residual data were normally distributed. These findings indicate that well-designed training programs play an important role in improving employee knowledge, skills, and work attitudes. Practically, these results suggest that companies should place more emphasis on developing relevant training materials, improving instructor quality, and using applicable training methods

Abstract

This research aims to find out the basics of sharia arisan as an innovative Islamic banking product that has a foundation in application and is in accordance with the concept of local wisdom. Specifically, what this research wants to know is how the mechanism of sharia arisan is applied in Islamic banking. This research is a literature research that uses a normative legal approach. This research shows that sharia arisan does not contradict customary law, Islamic law, and the philosophy of the nation, even sharia arisan is very relevant to be used as a means of investment in Islamic banking. This is because sharia arisan is based on three foundations: juridical, philosophical, and sociological. Furthermore, technically, sharia arisan can be applied in Islamic banking by using three contracts, namely mudharabah mustarakah, wakalah, and ijarah.

Abstract

The rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly influenced Islamic legal reasoning, particularly in data processing, textual analysis, and the acceleration of jurisprudential decision-making. This study examines how AI reshapes methodological approaches to ijtihād, redefines the authority of fatwa institutions, and interacts with the epistemological foundations of Islamic law. Employing a qualitative method through literature review, the research engages classical usūl al-fiqh texts and contemporary works on AI and Islamic ethics. The findings reveal that AI acts as an assistant to ijtihād by enhancing analytical efficiency, yet it cannot replace human jurists due to its inability to comprehend maqāṣid, moral judgement, and socio-cultural context. The study also identifies the need for a “collective AI-assisted ijtihād model” to maintain accuracy, objectivity, and normative legitimacy. It concludes that AI must operate within the framework of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah and digital ethics to ensure that fatwas remain valid, adaptive, and accountable.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in schools through the lens of Anthony Giddens' structuration theory. Field findings reveal that TQM is often applied in a bureaucratic and symbolic manner, with minimal involvement from school members and a lack of participatory reflection forums. Using the structuration framework, this study highlights that TQM structures are not fixed entities, but are formed and reproduced through the social practices of school actors. Inequities in rules and resource distribution weaken the agency of school members, while the absence of reflective spaces hinders conscious structural transformation. The analysis shows that strengthening school members as active agents is essential in building a dynamic and sustainable quality management structure. Therefore, it is recommended that schools develop collaborative structures, ensure equitable distribution of resources, establish open forums for collective reflection, and integrate TQM principles into daily practices. This study contributes theoretically to quality management approaches in educational institutions by emphasizing the reciprocal relationship between structure and agency.

Abstract

Although Indonesia’s legal framework recognizes indigenous religions and upholds gender equality, these principles remain largely unrealized for Marapu women due to the intersection of patriarchal customary systems and state institutional biases. This study explores the persistence of gender inequality among Marapu women.  Employing an empirical socio-legal approach, data were collected through literature review and field research, including in-depth interviews and observations across four regencies of Sumba Island: East, Central, West, and Southwest Sumba. Informants included representatives from government agencies, NGOs, and Marapu community leaders. Findings indicate that while Marapu cosmology symbolically recognizes gender dualism, its social practice sustains male authority in ritual leadership, inheritance, and decision-making. State institutions, through religious and administrative structures, indirectly perpetuate these inequalities by privileging formal religions and patriarchal norms. The study concludes that promoting gender justice for Marapu women requires contextual reforms that integrate cultural reinterpretation, community participation, and inclusive policy frameworks grounded in feminist legal pluralism.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze thematic, methodological, and research gaps in the study of transformational leadership over the past two decades. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the PRISMA approach, which selects 20 articles from internationally reputable journals indexed by Scopus. Data are collected and analyzed based on research focuses, methods, and key findings related to the influence of transformational leadership on performance, innovation, organizational culture, and employee engagement. The results of the study show that transformational leadership consistently contributes positively to improving individual and organizational performance through mediation mechanisms such as trust, organizational learning, and knowledge management. However, previous research still shows limitations in contextual aspects, especially in the areas of leadership digitalization, organizational culture differences, and longitudinal research design. This study recommends that future research integrate cross-cultural and multi-method approaches to broaden understanding of transformational leadership dynamics in the digital age. Practically, the results of this research contribute to the development of leadership strategies that are adaptive, innovative, and oriented towards human resource empowerment in the context of modern organizations.
