Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to explore and analyse the role of Gayo music and dance performances as agents of social change in strengthening social cohesion and cultural sustainability within the Gayo community in Central Aceh. The research is motivated by the importance of the performing arts as a medium for preserving cultural identity and uniting communities, particularly in the face of the challenges posed by globalization, which threatens the sustainability of local traditions. The urgency of the research lies in the need to understand concrete strategies for utilizing traditional arts for social purposes, as well as to fill the gap in the literature regarding the unique elements of Guel music and dance in the context of social change. The research method employed was a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, combining a quantitative survey of 176 participants with a qualitative phenomenological study of 25 participants. The study’s results showed that participation in Guel performances, particularly through the “Saturday Arts” and “Annual Festival” programs, significantly increased the community’s sense of belonging, cultural pride, and social involvement. Quantitative data analysis showed an increase in governance and conservation indicators by 13.6% and 23.6%, respectively, while qualitative data revealed Guel’s role in value education, gender inclusivity, and intercultural dialogue. The discussion relates this finding to Bourdieu’s theory of social capital, confirming that Guel functions as a social glue (bonding capital), a bridge between groups (bridging capital), and a transformer of cultural capital into social capital. This research recommends the development of inclusive cultural policies, the integration of traditional arts into the educational curriculum, and a community-based governance approach to ensure the sustainability of Guel music and dance as an intangible cultural heritage and a unifying force for society.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education requires a deep understanding of teacher readiness, infrastructure availability, and pedagogical needs. This study employs a service-learning approach to conduct a needs analysis for the development of a digital classroom at MTs Rambatan. The study involved 15 teachers who completed a 13-item online questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. Data were analyzed descriptively using frequency distributions to identify teachers’ perceptions, readiness, and infrastructural conditions related to digital classroom implementation. Findings indicate strong recognition of the need for innovation, with 100% of teachers agreeing that innovation is necessary and 53% perceiving the current learning environment as inadequate. Teachers showed high optimism about digital classrooms, with 100% agreeing that they can improve learning interest and outcomes. Readiness levels were equally promising, as 60% reported being ready and 40% very ready to adopt digital classrooms; 100% also expressed the need for further training. However, ICT infrastructure remains insufficient: 40% rated device availability as inadequate, and only 7% considered it very adequate. Teachers at MTs Rambatan exhibit strong motivation, readiness, and awareness regarding digital classroom development. However, inadequate ICT infrastructure poses a major challenge that requires institutional support and strategic investment. Future research should expand the scope of participants and examine the effectiveness of digital classroom implementation through longitudinal and experimental methods.

Abstract

This systematic literature review synthesizes 29 studies published between 2016 and 2025 to examine the multidimensional factors shaping the quality of early childhood education (ECE) across global contexts. Findings show that ECE quality is influenced by six interrelated dimensions: inclusion, equity, funding, wellbeing, governance, and culture, which interact through broader political, economic, social, and cultural structures. Strong governance and sustainable financing enhance equitable access, while inclusive and culturally responsive pedagogies support children’s holistic development and socio-emotional wellbeing. The review also identifies fragmentation across studies, limited cross-country comparative work, and persistent policy-practice gaps that hinder the effective implementation of high-quality ECE. The study proposes an integrated model demonstrating how structural and contextual factors collectively shape early learning experiences. These insights provide a foundation for strengthening policy alignment, professional development, and culturally grounded practices to improve ECE quality worldwide.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of differentiated learning approaches in class V SKI subjects at MI Al-Adli and MI Munawariyah Palembang. The research employed a qualitative approach with a multisite method, incorporating in-depth interviews, structured observations, and document analysis with participants including madrasah heads, deputy heads of curriculum, teachers, conducteddents. Data analysis involved using thematic analysis, categorization, and cross-case analysis to identify similarities and differences in implementation in the two madrasas. The results showed that teachers had implemented differentiation of content, processes, and products. However, the implementation was not fully optimal due to limitations in diagnostic assessments, learning facilities, and the application of differentiation. Differentiation can enhance learning motivation, historical understanding, and active student participation. These findings reinforce the importance of implementing differentiated learning in SKI and show the need to ensure consistent and sustainable implementation.

Abstract

Multidimensional poverty refers to a condition in which individuals or households are unable to meet their essential needs, encompassing the dimensions of education, health, and a decent standard of living. Islamic economics emphasizes the principles of social justice, equitable wealth distribution, and social responsibility as strategic efforts to alleviate poverty. From an Islamic perspective, poverty is not merely an economic issue but also a social and moral problem that can disrupt the balance of societal life. This study aims to examine the influence of the Human Development Index, the open unemployment rate, and per capita income on multidimensional poverty in Indonesia within the framework of Islamic economic principles. The research employs a quantitative method using the VECM approach by analyzing 34 provinces in Indonesia. The results indicate that the fixed effect model is the most appropriate model, showing that the t-test results reveal a negative and significant effect of the Human Development Index and per capita income on multidimensional poverty, while the open unemployment rate has a positive and significant effect on multidimensional poverty in Indonesia.
