Abstract

Flexible packaging industry as a producer of packaging for food and beverages is currently required to ensure the safety of packaged food from contamination. As a sense of responsibility, the industry must be able to show transparently how the food safety assurance has been planned and implemented as well. This can be achieved through the implementation of a food safety management system in accordance with international standards that is Food Safety System Certification - FSSC 22000 for food packaging. This standard is a combination of standard International Standard Organization - ISO 22000:2018, ISO TS 22002-4:2013, and FSSC Requirements, in which ISO 22000 is supported by Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point - HACCP Plan, and from GM P (Good Manufacturing Practice) term is supported by ISO TS 22002-4:2013 and FSSC Requirements. The purpose of this study was to analyze the HACCP, determine OPRP (Operational Pre-Requisite Program) & CCP (Critical Control Point) and to validate the CCP of printing process, which is one of flexible packaging process step. This research takes the case on FSSC 22000 implementation in one flexible packaging industry in East Jakarta Industrial Estate. Printing process step is chosen in this study because it is one of the important process in the manufacture of flexible packaging. As a supporting of the system implementation, GMP requirements beforehand is comply with reference to ISO TS 22002-4:2013, and FSSC Requirements. While analysis of the HACCP Plan is done in accordance with ISO 22000 to ensure the potential hazard contaminations of the product can be prevented / lowered / removed. By analyzing HACCP Plan in the printing process, it can be determined the OPRP & CCP of the process. CPP validation process is performed by taking hazard data residual solvent of food packaging with specification PET // Ink, because residual solvent is one of the chemicals that could contaminate the food that comes from flexible packaging. The results of this study indicate that the data residual solvent still valid, reliable, and capable in process, and its value in accordance with customer requirements as well. Furthermore, to ensure the packaging of food safety assurance system is consistently implemented, it is necessary to monitor the system by verification of the implementation of PRP, OPRP, and CCP periodically.

Abstract

A HACCP analysis of the printing process at one of the process steps in the Flexible packaging industry has been carried out as a hazard analysis step to determine the hazards that need to be controlled. The initial steps for making a flow chart have been carried out, which includes a flow chart of the printing process, which is the object of research. As per the ISO 22000 clauses that all food safety hazards that may occur related to the type of product, type of process, and existing process facilities are identified and recorded, a flowchart for the printing process is made in detail, including input, process, and output. This is to avoid product types, process types, and process facilities that can be overlooked during the hazard analysis process. In the HACCP analysis of the printing process, each food safety hazard has been identified and the acceptable level of the hazard has been determined. The results of the HACCP analysis on the printing process in this study have identified several process stages, from the input process to the output process. All of these stages have been analyzed for all hazards or sources of hazards, level of acceptance, hazard assessment, linkages with regulations or legislation, and determination of actions to prevent, reduce, or eliminate hazards. If the hazard assessment results in a "high" risk value and/or is related to regulations or legislation, then further analysis is carried out to determine whether a CCP is required or not. By carrying out a HACCP analysis of the printing process for the manufacture of flexible packaging, it is possible to determine the OPRP and CCP for the process, so that food safety guarantees in this process can be controlled and realized. The results of the validation process by monitoring the results of hazard measurements on residual solvent as a hazard from CCPs that have been determined in the printing process have shown that the process is under control and capable. The main findings in this study cannot be separated from the strong pillar support of GMP implementation, which is a rule or requirement from ISO/TS 22002-4 and FSSC requirements for the food packaging industry.

Abstract

The focus of this research is the importance of teaching local history, such as the five-day battle in Palembang in 1947. Students do not understand this important historical event, even though the battle took place in the middle of the city, but this local history material has not been widely used as a learning resource in schools. The aim of this research is to determine whether the involvement of student soldiers in the five-day battle in Palembang in 1947 can be integrated as a source for local history learning in schools. Qualitative research method, case study type with a historical approach. Data collection uses field studies, observations, interviews, and document studies. Data validation was carried out by triangulating data sources and theory. Data analysis starts with data presentation, reduction, and conclusion drawing. The five-day battle in Palembang in 1947 involved Indonesian soldiers assisted by the community against the Dutch, who wanted to regain control of Palembang. The involvement of young student soldiers, who were bravely involved directly in the battle, served as health workers, messengers, and public kitchen workers. The involvement of student soldiers in this battle contains historical values of struggle, heroism, and never giving up, so these historical values can be integrated as a source of history learning in schools. Its relevance as a learning resource can be seen in the history curriculum in the material on the struggle of figures in defending Indonesian independence.

Abstract

The study's objective is to characterize and assess how the blended learning model affects the caliber of historical learning results in the contemporary day. This research uses quantitative methods with a simple correlation approach. The research location was in the History Education Study Program FKIP PGRI Palembang University, with a sample of 114 active students who were taken randomly. Data was collected using observation, documentation, and questionnaires. According to the study's findings, the quality of learning outcomes was significantly impacted by the blended learning pattern in the new normal era by 0.325. It was concluded that the quality of learning outcomes for students of the History Education Study Program, FKIP University of Palembang, was successful after implementing the mixed learning pattern in the new normal era. In order to improve the caliber of learning outcomes, it is advised that the History Education Study Program continue to combine online and offline learning methods in the new normal period. It has been demonstrated that when the blended learning pattern is applied as best it can, the caliber of student learning outcomes rises.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation and acquisition of sales and cost of goods sold on food menus at PT Nusantara Boga Abadi to calculate net sales profit. This research serves as a benchmark to determine whether the profit margin obtained by the company is optimal. The data used are secondary data in the form of raw material purchases. The method used is descriptive analysis with a quantitative approach. PT Nusantara Boga Abadi operates in the food industry, and the focus of this research is "how to determine the final cost of goods sold at the Kembang Goela Restaurant." This research employs field and library research methods. Data collection is conducted through observation, interviews with stakeholders, documentation, and literature studies. The collected data is then analyzed using the Full Costing method to determine the cost of production, which subsequently serves as the basis for setting the selling price. The analysis results indicate that the application of the Full Costing method in determining the cost of production yields favorable outcomes, enabling profit increase by accounting for all cost elements. The findings of this research are expected to provide valuable insights for the management of Kembang Goela Restaurant to enhance profitability and maintain business sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze sustainability strategies for small businesses in the agricultural sector, focusing on identifying factors that influence productivity and business sustainability. Key strategies that can help enhance the sustainability of small agricultural businesses include product diversification. The research was conducted over three days on May 19, 20, and 21, 2024, at the Women's Farming Group (KWT) in Ciputat, led by Mrs. Sri Agustin, who is also the neighborhood head. Data were collected from 30 members of the Garuda 12 Women's Farming Group in Cipayung, Ciputat, South Tangerang, ensuring that the selected respondents have high relevance to the research topic. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques included literature study, observation, and interviews with ten KWT members. The results highlight the importance of efficient food resource management, adoption of agricultural technology, market development and marketing, education and training, policy support, and access to financing. Financing for small businesses in the agricultural sector requires sustained support from various parties, including the government, financial institutions, and the private sector. With these various sources of financing, it is expected that small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises can grow better and contribute more significantly to the national economy. By implementing these strategies, small businesses in the agricultural sector can enhance their resilience and contribution to the economy. Effective strategies are necessary to ensure the continuity and growth of these small businesses. This study aims to identify and analyze strategies that can improve productivity, profitability, and sustainability of small businesses in the agricultural sector. The approaches include product diversification, adoption of modern technology, supply chain optimization, and strengthened market access. Product diversification helps farmers reduce risk and maximize income. Adoption of modern technology, such as smart irrigation and drone use for land monitoring, increases efficiency and production yields. Supply chain optimization includes improving logistics and distribution, which can reduce costs and speed up product delivery times

Abstract

This study aims to analyze human resources in small agricultural enterprises, focusing on identifying factors that influence productivity and business sustainability. The research subjects are small-scale farmers in the Garuda 12 Women's Farming Group in Cipayung, Ciputat, South Tangerang, who own less than 200 m² of agricultural land. The research method used is a qualitative approach involving in-depth interviews and participatory observations. Data were collected from 30 members of the Garuda 12 Women's Farming Group in Cipayung, Ciputat, South Tangerang, using purposive sampling to ensure the selected respondents have high relevance to the research topic. The collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify main themes related to human resources. The results indicate that technical skills, access to training, and time management are key factors influencing the productivity of small-scale farmers. Additionally, support from government and non-governmental organizations in the form of extension services and technical assistance also plays a significant role in improving human resource quality. However, limited capital and access to modern technology remain major challenges. The implications of this research suggest that enhancing human resource quality can be achieved through continuous training programs and better access to resources and technology. This study contributes to the understanding of the importance of human resource development in small agricultural enterprises and can serve as a basis for designing more effective policies to support small-scale farmers

Practical learning using simulation applications makes students unable to create natural industrial control systems, so the impact of the immaturity of practical skills that students must master becomes a problem in this study. Using simulation applications, students are only faced with ideal conditions and symbols of each component, so students cannot know the actual components of an industrial control system and how to solve real problems in this system. This study aims to examine the impact of using electro-pneumatic training kits in an industrial control system practicum. The actual experimental research method used in the study consisted of an experimental class with 28 students and a control class of 25 people. Data collection techniques used skill assessment rubrics with data analysis techniques, including independent t-tests and effect sizes. The results revealed a significant difference in the skills of experimental class students with the control class, where experimental class students had better skills. From the results of the effect size test, it is known that the electro-pneumatic training kit significantly improves students' industrial control system skills. Based on these results, the electro-pneumatic training kit proved to be a transformational educational tool, significantly improving students' skills in industrial control systems. The implication of this study is for schools to integrate technology-based training tools such as electro-pneumatic training kits; vocational education can provide practical experience that is more relevant to industry needs, improve students' work readiness, and strengthen technical skills that are urgently needed in today's modern job market and industrial world.

Abstract

Speaking skills are very important for every student, especially in expressing opinions. However, some students are still unable to tell stories and convey their respective opinions. There are several factors influencing it. This study aims to identify the factors that influence the speaking skills of fourth-grade students and their efforts to improve their speaking skills in expressing the opinions of fourth-grade students. This study was carried out in one of the state elementary schools in Pedurungan Kidul 02, Semarang, Central Java. The data collected was qualitative in the form of a narrative about the ability of speaking skills in expressing opinions, the factors that influence speaking skills, and efforts to improve speaking skills in expressing opinions. The data source used was the primary data source and the secondary data source. The data collection techniques were observation, interview, test, and documentation. The results of this study show that: (1) the storytelling ability of the three students of grade four B SD Negeri Pedurungan Kidul 02 Semarang City is still in the low category because students are still unable to retell the stories and are not fluent in expressing their opinions, (2) the factors that influence students speaking skills are the first supporting factors which include models, methods, and learning media as well as linguistic factors and non-linguistic factors. The second factor is inhibiting factors, including physical and psychological conditions. (3) the efforts made to improve students speaking skills are that teachers must modify the use of learning methods, improve facilities and infrastructure, and students must practice a lot to tell stories. The contribution of this research is to create a learning media that can attract students' attention during learning. In addition, modifying or collaborating on learning models and methods used for learning is expected so that students do not feel bored and saturated when participating in learning.

Abstract

Dug well water is often used by the community as a source of clean water, but its physical quality such as turbidity is still a problem. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the thickness of coconut coir media and coconut shell charcoal on the reduction of turbidity of dug well water. The method used was an experiment with a Complete Random Design (RAL) with 3 media thickness treatments (2 cm, 3 cm, and 4 cm) and repeated 3 times each. Additional media in the form of gravel is used on a regular basis in each treatment. Turbidity measurements are carried out before and after filtration using a turbidimeter. The results of the study showed that there was a significant influence of the thickness of the media on the reduction of turbidity of dug well water. The thickness of 4 cm provides the most optimal results in reducing the level of turbidity. Coconut coir and coconut shell charcoal media are effectively used as natural and environmentally friendly filter alternatives to improve the water quality of dug wells.
