Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of personal branding exhibited by members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) during the legislative session for the ratification of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Law. Employing a qualitative–interpretative approach with Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) as the method, this research explores the political communication strategies employed by DPR members in constructing their public persona through physical appearance, rhetorical style, and personal narratives communicated to the public and media. The primary data source is a news article titled “7 Statements from DPR RI Commission I Regarding the Revision of the TNI Law, Revealing the Discussed Articles” by Devira Prastiwi, published on Liputan6.com and updated on March 16, 2025. The findings indicate that several DPR members actively used the parliamentary session as a stage to build their brand, projecting traits such as nationalism, courage, integrity, and concern for military and defense issues. These personal branding strategies not only reflect their political positioning but also aim to strengthen emotional connections with constituents and broaden their electoral reach. This research contributes to the understanding of the dynamics of political personalization in the mediatized era, where personal image becomes a crucial instrument in shaping public perception of legislative performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of food logistics management in stabilizing staple food prices in Indonesia. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation from various parties involved in the food logistics system, such as government agencies, distribution actors, and traders. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Its validity was tested using triangulation techniques. The results indicate that food logistics management plays a significant role in maintaining staple food price stability. Factors such as distribution efficiency, stock management, infrastructure availability, and technology utilization significantly influence market price stability. Inefficiencies in the logistics system lead to supply imbalances, which impact price bottlenecks. Therefore, integrated improvement efforts are needed through infrastructure enhancement, storage system optimization, strengthening coordination between actors, and utilizing digital technology to create an efficient and sustainable food logistics system. This research is expected to contribute to policymaking to maintain staple food price stability and enhance national food security.

Abstract

The development of financial performance in the digital company sector over the past decade reflects a highly dynamic transformation from an aggressive growth phase to a more stable profitability phase. In the early stages of growth, digital companies tended to prioritize market expansion and massive user acquisition, often recording negative operating cash flow in order to build a dominant ecosystem. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of transparency, accountability, and corporate governance on financial performance in digital companies. This research is a comparative causal study with a quantitative approach. The population of this study was digital companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the reporting years 2020 to 2025, with criteria including technology issuers, data centers, and digital banks. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Based on predetermined criteria, the sample in this study was 15 digital companies. This research analysis uses multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that transparency has a significant effect on financial performance in digital companies. Accountability has a significant effect on financial performance in digital companies. Corporate governance has a significant effect on financial performance in digital companies.

Abstract

Abstract. Paays VG, Munizu M, Arsal A. 2026. Value chain and nutmeg farmers’ welfare in Morella, Central Maluku, Indonesia. Asian J Agric 10 (1): g100121. https://doi.org/10.13057/asianjagric/g100121. Nutmeg is one of Indonesia’s high-value plantation commodities and plays an important role in supporting rural livelihoods. However, despite its economic potential, many smallholder nutmeg farmers still experience limited welfare improvements due to weak integration within traditional value chain systems. In many producing areas, farmers face constraints such as limited market access, price uncertainty, low bargaining power, and weak institutional support. These conditions reduce farmers’ ability to capture the value created along the nutmeg value chain and ultimately limit improvements in income and welfare. Therefore, understanding how value chain performance influences farmer income and welfare is essential for developing effective strategies to improve smallholder livelihoods. This study aims to analyze the direct and indirect relationships between the nutmeg value chain, farmer income, and farmer welfare in Morella Village, Central Maluku District, Indonesia, with income functioning as a mediating variable. The research employed a quantitative explanatory design using survey data collected from 84 nutmeg farmers. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to examine the relationships among the variables and test the mediating role of income. The results show that value chain performance has a positive and significant effect on both farmer income and farmer welfare. Improvements in value chain activities such as production management, logistics, marketing, and institutional support contribute to increased farmer income and improved welfare conditions. In addition, income significantly influences farmer welfare and partially mediates the relationship between value chain performance and welfare outcomes. However, the direct effect of the value chain on welfare is stronger than the indirect effect through income, indicating that structural improvements in the value chain contribute to welfare beyond income increases alone. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening the nutmeg value chain to enhance smallholder welfare. Policies that improve market access, develop post-harvest processing, strengthen farmer institutions, and promote technological adoption are essential to ensure that value creation within the nutmeg value chain translates into sustainable income growth and improved welfare for smallholder farmers.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of inflation and government expenditure on economic growth, with gross domestic product (GDP) as a moderating variable. Economic growth reflects the overall performance of a country’s economy and is influenced by macroeconomic conditions and fiscal policy. Inflation represents price stability, while government expenditure reflects policy efforts to stimulate economic activity and support development. A quantitative approach is applied using correlation and regression techniques through path analysis, supported by EViews 12 software. Secondary data in the form of annual observations were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for the period 2018–2025. The analysis focuses on identifying both direct effects and the moderating role of GDP in the relationship between variables. The results show that government expenditure has a positive and significant effect on economic growth, indicating its important role in encouraging economic performance. Inflation does not show a significant effect, suggesting relatively stable price conditions during the observed period. GDP strengthens the relationship between government expenditure and economic growth, while no moderating effect is found in the relationship between inflation and economic growth.

Abstract

The integration of cattle production with oil palm plantations is increasingly promoted in Indonesia to enhance rural economies and support community livelihoods. Achieving long-term sustainability of this system requires a clear understanding of the institutional determinants that influence the implementation across social, economic, and ecological dimensions. Therefore, this study aims to examine the institutional determinants by identifying 5 key stakeholder groups in the cattle-oil palm sectors. The location was in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan, which was purposively selected for cattle-oil palm integration. Primary data were collected through field observations, structured questionnaires, and in-depth interviews with 15 purposively selected experts and were triangulated using secondary reports. Interpretive structural modeling (ISM) combined with MICMAC analysis was applied to identify, structure, and classify institutional constraints. The results showed a total of 13 institutional constraints, most of which were located in the linkage and dependent quadrants, indicating high interdependence and systemic vulnerability. Major constraints included inadequate coordination, weak leadership, limited institutional capacity, as well as insufficient regulatory and financial support. ISM generated 8 hierarchical constraint levels and 5 strategic program levels, regulation, financing, interagency collaboration, extension services, and waste processing technologies emerging as key drivers of system improvement. These results underscore the need for integrated institutional strengthening to enhance SISKA performance and sustainability. As the first to apply a combined MICMAC-ISM framework to cattle-oil palm integration, this study offers a novel institutional model to facilitate evidence-based policy design and strategic program planning.
