Abstract

Pregnancy represents a critical phase in Muslim family life, requiring ethical and educational guidance rooted in authentic sources. This study aimed to explore Prophetic educational theory concerning marital intimacy during pregnancy as derived from the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). Employing a qualitative library-based research design, the study utilised the HadithSoft application to retrieve ḥadīth from 14 canonical collections. The keyword “pregnancy” guided thematic extraction, and only maqbūl (accepted) narrations were included. Data analysis applied Miles and Huberman’s eleventh strategy—constructing logical chains of evidence—to synthesise normative principles. The findings revealed eight core themes forming a Prophetic framework for marital ethics during pregnancy. These results contributed to Islamic reproductive ethics and offered practical implications for antenatal education, healthcare counselling, and family policy, thereby bridging classical guidance with contemporary bioethical challenges.

Abstract

This article discusses the concept of multiculturalism in Islamic education through a thematic study of Quranic verses and Hadith related to diversity. This study aims to uncover the normative foundations of multicultural education in Islam and its relevance to the development of contemporary educational practices. The method used is library research with a thematic approach (maudh'i), namely collecting, classifying, and analyzing verses and Hadith related to the principles of equality, tolerance, justice, and respect for differences. The results of the study show that the Quran emphasizes diversity as a sunnatullah that must be accepted constructively, as reflected in the principle of equal human dignity (QS. Al-Hujurat: 13), the prohibition of discrimination and fanaticism ('ashabiyyah), and the command to treat everyone fairly. The Hadith of the Prophet also reinforces these values through the Prophet's life example in building an inclusive Medina society. The research findings confirm that Islamic education has a strong theological foundation for developing multicultural education that respects cultural, religious, and ethnic plurality. Thus, internalizing multicultural values in Islamic education is important to implement to form students who are moderate, tolerant, and have a global perspective.

Abstract

Islamic education plays a strategic role in responding to the multicultural reality of Indonesian society, which is characterized by religious, cultural, and social diversity. The challenges faced by Islamic education extend beyond strengthening religious identity to include its capacity to foster inclusive, tolerant, and just attitudes within a pluralistic society. This study examines the transformation of Islamic education in promoting multiculturalism in Indonesia through a library-based research approach. The analysis focuses on three main aspects: paradigms of Islamic education within a multicultural context, multicultural values embedded in Islamic education, and forms of transformation in Islamic education that address social diversity. The study employs a library research method by analyzing academic books and scholarly articles related to Islamic education and multiculturalism. Data are examined using content analysis to identify key concepts, patterns of thought, and prevailing approaches in Islamic education’s response to multiculturalism. The findings indicate that Islamic education is normatively grounded in values that align with the principles of multiculturalism, including justice, tolerance, and human solidarity. The transformation of Islamic education therefore requires a paradigm shift toward more inclusive approaches, the development of curricula that are responsive to diversity, and the implementation of dialogical and reflective pedagogical practices. This study underscores that a systemic and integrated transformation of Islamic education is a crucial prerequisite for strengthening its role in fostering a multicultural Indonesian society.

Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional phase from childhood to adulthood marked by identity exploration, a strong need for social acceptance, and the development of abstract thinking. When this developmental period is not properly guided, adolescents may face challenges that affect themselves, their families, and society. This study examines adolescent education from the perspective of Qur’anic education using qualitative methods and a literature review approach. The findings indicate that adolescent education should aim to develop cognitive, social, and emotional competencies required for a successful transition to adulthood, enabling adolescents to meet life’s demands and contribute positively to society. From a Qur’anic perspective, adolescent development requires a comprehensive and integrative educational approach involving families, schools, and the broader community to create a holistic educational ecosystem. This approach upholds local religious and cultural values while remaining responsive to global developments. The study emphasizes that responsibility for adolescent education is shared among multiple stakeholders rather than being centered solely on parents. The findings also highlight the importance of character formation through monotheistic values, purification of the soul, exemplary conduct, and the cultivation of social awareness and responsibility. Strengthening faith, devotion to parents, and noble character forms the foundational basis of adolescent education, alongside the development of independence and social responsibility. Overall, the study proposes a Qur’an-based framework for adolescent development that includes moral formation, intellectual and spiritual growth, enhanced social responsibility, and the development of independence and leadership capacities.

Abstract

Student discipline is one of the crucial factors in the success of Islamic Religious Education (IRE). This study aims to integrate behavioristic theory with Imam Al-Ghazali's Islamic educational perspective in an effort to improve student discipline in IRE subjects. The method used is library research with a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach. Data were collected from primary literature in the form of Al-Ghazali's works, such as Ihya Ulumuddin and Ayyuhal Walad, as well as secondary literature, including books, journals, and scientific articles on behaviorist theory and Islamic education. The analysis was conducted through content analysis to find common ground between behaviorist concepts (stimulus-response, reinforcement, punishment) and Al-Ghazali's educational principles (mujahadah, riyadhah, habituation, and exemplary behavior). The results of the study show that there is a fundamental harmony between behaviorist theory and Al-Ghazali's educational concepts, particularly in the aspects of habituation, positive reinforcement, and logical consequences. The integration of these two approaches produces a comprehensive discipline development model, combining external dimensions (behavioral modification) with internal dimensions (spiritual motivation). The implementation of this integrated model shows significant potential in improving student discipline through a holistic approach, not only shaping outward behavior but also inner awareness. This research provides a theoretical contribution to the development of an Islamic values-based character education model that is compatible with modern psychological theory, as well as practical implications for PAI teachers in developing effective and meaningful discipline strategies.
