Abstract

Balikpapan City, as one of the economic centers in East Kalimantan, plays an important role in the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The Goetji, as one of the MSMEs engaged in the beverage industry, faces significant challenges and opportunities in improving its performance and competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the influence of employee work motivation, corporate culture, and corporate atmosphere on business production and economic growth in Balikpapan City. The research method used is a quantitative approach with statistical analysis to measure the relationship between the variables studied. Data was collected through a survey involving The Goetji employees and analyzed using regression analysis to identify the significance of each factor's influence. The results show that employee motivation has a significant effect on the development of The Goetji SMEs, with a significance value of 0.000, indicating a strong relationship. In addition, a positive corporate culture and a supportive corporate atmosphere also contribute to increased productivity and product quality. This positive impact is not only seen in The Goetji's internal performance but also contributes to local economic growth by creating jobs and increasing regional income. This study concludes that strengthening work motivation and a positive corporate culture are key to improving the performance of MSMEs, which in turn contributes to the economic growth of Balikpapan City. Recommendations are provided to continue developing strategies that support these two aspects in order to achieve greater sustainability and growth

Abstract

This research examines online business management strategies through e-commerce platforms at MR. Keramik Store in Pasuruan, East Java. The study employs a qualitative case study methodology with data collection through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation analysis conducted in October 2024. Findings reveal that MR. Keramik successfully implements a multi-platform strategy utilizing Shopee as the primary marketplace (contributing 50-55% of online sales), Instagram for visual merchandising and community building (8,456 followers), and Facebook for B2B segment targeting (2,341 followers). The differentiation strategy emphasizes personalized consultation services rather than competing solely on price. Key challenges include limited human resources, digital competency gaps, intense price competition, and logistical complexities for fragile and heavy products. E-commerce adoption has significantly transformed business performance, increasing monthly sales from IDR 50-60 million (pre-e-commerce) to IDR 160-180 million, with online channels contributing 60-65%. Geographic reach expanded from a 30-40 km radius to national coverage, with active customers growing from 300-400 to 2,800-3,000. This study contributes to the literature on SME digital transformation in developing countries, particularly in the under-researched building materials retail sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of STP-based marketing strategies (Segmenting, Targeting, Positioning) in paper mill companies engaged in the production and sale of Paper Core and Paper Tube, in the context of market expansion from East Java to the Greater Jakarta area. This case study uses a qualitative descriptive approach by collecting data through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of the company's marketing activities. The results of the study show that implementing the STP strategy plays a significant role in expanding market reach and increasing companies' competitiveness. Market segmentation is based on geographical variables, industry demographics, and customer behavior, leading the company to target the textile, plastic film, and packaging industries in the Greater Jakarta area. The targeting strategy is focused on medium and large industrial segments with high product quality needs and fast delivery services. In terms of positioning, the company positions itself as a "reliable industry partner in quality Paper Core and Paper Tube solutions with timely service." The implementation of this strategy resulted in a 35% increase in sales in two years, as well as strengthening the company's brand image in the national market. This study emphasizes that STP-based marketing strategies are an important instrument in dealing with the dynamics of the B2B industrial market in the paper mill sector.

Abstract

This paper explores how research on digital transformation and its connection to social enterprises has developed worldwide from 2020 to 2025. The study draws its data from the Scopus database and applies VOSviewer to map patterns of collaboration among authors, recurring keywords, and citation relationships. From 72 selected studies, a clear upward trend can be seen, with growing scholarly attention after 2022. The findings point to five key areas often discussed in this field: innovation and technology adoption, social entrepreneurship and value creation, sustainability and inclusion, changes in business models, and knowledge management. Over the years, the focus of discussion appears to have moved from basic digital readiness toward newer issues such as the role of artificial intelligence in social impact and the use of data to guide decisions. These shifts indicate that digital tools are increasingly central to how social enterprises operate and deliver value. By presenting an overview of existing work and identifying leading contributors, this research highlights where future collaboration and exploration might take place. The study also offers practical insights that could support policymakers and practitioners who aim to use technology to promote sustainable and inclusive growth.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze the growth of green entrepreneurship, also known as green entrepreneurship, in developing countries, with particular emphasis on the components that affect business sustainability. Green entrepreneurship orientation and green innovation are critical to improving the economic, social, and environmental performance of businesses, according to research conducted on fourteen Scopus indexed scientific articles from 2021-2025. However, green practices still face structural challenges such as limited capital, access to green technologies, and limited policy support. It is evident that institutional elements, public policies, and local social and cultural principles play a significant role in strengthening the green entrepreneurship ecosystem. To accelerate the transformation towards a sustainable economy in developing countries, this study confirms that governments, businesses, and communities must work together in various sectors.

Abstract

This case study examines the business discontinuity of PohonCoklat.co and reconsiders the widely accepted notion that a strong digital marketing strategy alone is sufficient to secure long-term business sutainability. Although the brand achieved notable digital performance–reflected in a steady 4.5% engagement rate accross social media and sustained visibility on major online marketplaces–the business ultimately ceased operations in mid-2023. Using a retrospective qualitative approach that incorporates document analysis and semi-structured interviews, this study reveals that the discontinuity was rooted not in marketing shortcomings, but in critical operational weaknesses. The main contributing factors included owner burnout driven by overly centralized decision-making, intensifying operational burdens caused by rising raw material prices and platform commission fees, and the lack of a scalable, decentralized system to distribute tasks effectively. These structural limitations progressively undermined profitability and constrained the company’s ability to respond to shifts in market demand. The findings highlight that digital marketing success cannot offset core operational deficiencies. Thus, this study asserts that sustainable digital business performance requires a strategic blend of marketing strength, robust operational frameworks, adaptive resource management, and long-term planning. The experience of PohonCoklat.co demonstrates that without these essential components, even digitally strong ventures remain vulnerable to stagnation and eventual closure.

Abstract

This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of the recruitment process at Toko Uddan, a small business in the goods distribution sector, using a qualitative approach and grounded theory analysis. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with the owner, administrator, field coordinator, and employees. The results of the study show that recruitment at Toko Uddan is simple, flexible, and greatly influenced by social proximity. Candidates are obtained almost entirely through family and relative recommendations, while selection is conducted informally by considering personality, work ethic, and readiness to start working immediately. Orientation is provided through a one-week field trial period without formal training. Through open coding, axial coding, and selective coding, this study produced a Relational-Operational Recruitment model consisting of three core categories: trust-based recruitment, personality- and work readiness-based selection, and rapid placement through hands-on practice. When compared to Dessler's (2013) recruitment theory, Toko Uddan's recruitment practices show significant differences in terms of formality, diversity of applicant sources, and objectivity of selection, but remain effective in the context of SMEs. The validity of the findings is maintained through the application of Lincoln and Guba's (1985) criteria, including credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. These findings make an important contribution to understanding relationship-based recruitment patterns in small businesses in Indonesia and their implications for more adaptive and contextual human resource management

Abstract

Increased consumer awareness of environmental issues has driven a shift in preference and loyalty to environmentally friendly products. This research intends to investigate how green trust acts as a mediating factor in the link between green brand image and green products in relation to customer loyalty, particularly among Avoskin skincare users in Malang City. The methodology applied is quantitative, involving 186 participants chosen via non-probability sampling methods. The analysis of the data was carried out using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique through SmartPLS 4.0. The outcomes reveal that the green brand image and green product significantly influence both green trust and customer loyalty. Furthermore, it is confirmed that green trust serves as an important mediator in the impact of green brand image and green products on customer loyalty. These results highlight the critical nature of trust and enduring loyalty among environmentally conscious consumers. This research adds value to the establishment of sustainable marketing initiatives within Indonesia's skincare sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze digital transformation strategy models for enhancing corporate competitiveness, focusing on MSMEs in Indonesia. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method combined with bibliometric analysis, this study analyzed 67 articles published between 2018 and 2024 from the Scopus and Web of Science databases. The results reveal that an effective digital transformation strategy is multidimensional, synergistically integrating aspects of technology, human resources, business strategy, and organizational culture. The bibliometric analysis identified three main research clusters: the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on digital acceleration, the specific context of Indonesian MSMEs, and the relationship between digital transformation and performance and strategic roles. Key findings indicate that successful digital transformation depends not only on technology adoption but also on the ability to build dynamic capabilities, digital leadership, and cultural adaptation. This research contributes to the development of an integrative model that integrates sustainability, resilience, and local wisdom in the digital transformation strategy of Indonesian MSMEs, while also identifying research gaps for further study.
