The rapid development of digital technology and changes in consumer behavior require Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to adapt in marketing and service aspects. Rumah Makan Padang Sari Bundo, a culinary MSME located in Pasir Gadung, Cikupa, faced several problems, including limited use of social media, underutilization of digital platforms such as Google Maps, and the absence of cashless payment systems. This community service activity aimed to improve business competitiveness through the digitalization of marketing and services. The method applied was the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) approach, consisting of planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up stages. The implementation included creating toto22 Instagram and WhatsApp Business accounts, optimizing Google Maps, and applying the QRIS digital payment system. The results showed increased business visibility, easier customer access to information, and improved transaction convenience through cashless payments. Furthermore, digitalization enabled the MSME to become more adaptive to technological developments and modern consumer needs. Therefore, digital transformation at Rumah Makan Padang Sari Bundo represents an important step in supporting business sustainability and improving competitiveness in the digital era.

Digital transformation has reconstructed the marketing landscape, positioning TikTok as a narrative and affective space that significantly shapes consumption decisions. This study investigates the interaction between Storytelling Marketing (STM), Electronic Word of Mouth (e-WOM), and Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) in influencing and mediating One Piece comic purchase intention. Using a Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach involving 385 respondents, the findings reveal that STM and e-WOM not only exert a direct effect on purchasing decisions but also generate psychological resonance manifested as FOMO, which further strengthens consumers’ impulsive and consumptive tendencies. In this context, TikTok functions not merely as a digital platform, but as an affective field where narratives, emotions, and social pressures intertwine, blurring the boundaries between storytelling and economic decision-making. The results highlight that content strategies on social media operate as mechanisms of meaning construction that activate symbolic ownership through collective emotional urgency. Thus, consumption behavior is shaped not only by rational evaluation but also by socially constructed emotional experiences embedded within digital interactions on TikTok.

This study aims to analyze strategies for improving the export performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through training and capacity building at the Dodik Alfi macramé bag craft center in Blitar Regency, Indonesia. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving key informants, including business owners, training managers, and MSME actors. The findings reveal that MSMEs are still at an early stage of internationalization, with limited and irregular export activities. Although the products possess strong competitive advantages, such as unique designs, high aesthetic value, and handmade characteristics, export performance is constrained by limited internal capacity, including lack of export knowledge, absence of product standardization, and insufficient production capacity. Training programs have improved technical skills and product innovation; however, they have not significantly enhanced export performance due to the lack of integration with export-specific competencies, such as international marketing, logistics management, and regulatory compliance. The study proposes an integrative model in which training enhances internal capacity, which subsequently influences export strategy and performance. Export is identified as the most feasible initial strategy, with potential development toward licensing and franchising in the long term. The study highlights the importance of aligning training programs with export needs and strengthening institutional support to accelerate MSME internationalization

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a critical role in Indonesia’s economy, particularly in the seafood processing sector. However, these enterprises face significant challenges, including limited access to financing, global market networks, and competitiveness against larger firms. This study explores the socio-economic collaboration between seafood processing MSMEs in Sidoarjo and local stakeholders, including fishers, cooperatives, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and village governments, in enhancing export performance. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through in-depth interviews and participatory observations, the findings indicate that sustainable and trust-based relationships between MSMEs and fishers are crucial for ensuring high-quality raw materials and competitive products in international markets. Collaboration with NGOs and cooperatives provides capacity-building, training, and improved access to financial resources. Village government support facilitates access to assistance programs, training, and product certification for export purposes. These results suggest that multi-stakeholder collaboration can overcome MSME challenges, expand export opportunities, and strengthen the global competitiveness of processed seafood products. The study offers practical insights for policy interventions aimed at supporting MSME development and international market expansion in the seafood sector.

A MSMEs in Indonesia has recently contributed to national exports by 15,7% compared with Thailand that has reached 29 %, so substantial revision are required to make sure that increasing contribution which ultimately will give positive impact toward the economy overall, because almost 90 % of human resource work in MSMEs sector with nature resource and other plentiful resources. The main problem that is commonly found by MSMEs is to optimize the available resources as well as fulfill the required standards that have established and required regulation in order to ensure the resulting product is accepted by the market and to comply with the regulation that has been established by the regulator. Indonesia as the second biggest country in the world has biodiversity certainly offers benefits that hard to imitate by other country in producing biopharmaceutical plants product, therefore it offers competitive potential in the global market, however market penetration by MSMEs biopharmaceutical plants sector commonly discontinued regarding with technical barriers to trade (TBT). This study is based on a case study that aims to analyze main challenges in fulfillment of international certification and to formulate adaptation strategy for MSMEs. By conducting through a descriptive qualitative method with case study approaches, the result of study indicates that high compliance costs, registration procedural complexity from the source and destination country, as well as the inconsistency of raw material quality became the main barriers. The proposed strategy including group certification model, CPOTB standard harmonization, and the utilization of integrated government assistance schemes will provide real contribution in assisting MSMEs fulfilling global market requirements.

Therefore, there is significant scope for improvement to increase the contribution, ultimately will give a positive impact to the broader economy, given nearly 90% of the human resources are employed in the SME sector, which benefits from a wealth of natural and other resources. The main issues frequently encountered by SMEs are by optimizing available resources and adhering to established standards to ensure products are market-ready and compliant with the regulators. Qualitative approach conducted within SMEs Local Processor to obtain in-depth insight regarding barriers and constraints encountered, along with the challenges that need to be completed with numerous limitations and a lack of government support. Based on the in-depth interview result, the finding indicates that a significant majority of SMEs Local coffee processor practitioners primarily focus on financial resources in order to grow whereas the other that should be optimized and developed, on both individual and group basis, receive in sufficient attention. Therefore, through an understanding of the available strengths and which are not necessarily possessed by competitors, especially from other countries, the product produced by SMEs Local coffee processors should be capable of competing in the global market by understanding VRIO concept in a resource based view or Valuable, Rare, Inimitable, and Organize. Thus numerous products from SMEs will gain recognition by the global market.

This study aims to analyze the strategy of going international in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the handicraft sector in East Java with a case study approach on Written Batik MSMEs "Sumber Rejeki" in Sidoarjo Regency. The background of this research is based on the increasing demands of globalization and international market opportunities for the local creative industry, but still faced with limited capacity, market access, and digital literacy. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out descriptively with the theoretical framework of internationalization strategy and resource-based view (RBV). The results of the study show that the go international strategy implemented includes: (1) the use of global digital and e-commerce platforms as a means of penetrating the international market, (2) strengthening branding based on local wisdom through storytelling of batik products, (3) participation in international exhibitions and government programs such as trade expos, and (4) collaboration with export partners and aggregators. However, MSMEs still face various challenges, such as limited production capacity, international quality standards, logistical constraints, and export regulations. This research implies that the success of the internationalization of MSMEs is not only determined by internal resources, but also by ecosystem support, including governments, digital platforms, and global business networks.

This study analyzes how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) respond to global economic disruptions, particularly those driven by geopolitical instability and energy price volatility. The research adopts a conceptual and desk-based approach by synthesizing recent literature on SME resilience and organizational capabilities. The findings indicate that SMEs are highly vulnerable to external shocks due to limited resources, yet they possess adaptive potential through internal capabilities. In particular, dynamic capabilities enable SMEs to sense environmental changes, seize emerging opportunities, and transform business operations. These capabilities are often manifested through business model innovation, digital technology adoption, and supply chain adjustments. Furthermore, external support such as government policies and technological infrastructure strengthens SMEs’ resilience and recovery capacity. This study proposes a conceptual framework linking global economic shocks to SME resilience through internal capabilities and strategic adaptation. The findings provide practical implications for SMEs and policymakers in developing countries to enhance business sustainability and economic stability under uncertain global conditions.

The internationalization of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through e-commerce platforms is an increasingly relevant phenomenon in the digital economy era. This study aims to analyze the role of e-commerce platforms, especially Tokopedia, Shopee, and TikTok Shop, as potential export bridges for culinary MSMEs in Indonesia, by taking a case study on rollin.mlg, a culinary MSME based in Malang City, East Java. Using a qualitative approach with an exploratory case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, digital platform observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that although Rollin.mlg has not exported directly, the three platforms have features that have the potential to support international market penetration. However, there are significant obstacles, including a limited product shelf life, a lack of export certification, limited production capacity, and a lack of digital export literacy. This research contributes to the development of a digital export readiness framework for Indonesian culinary MSMEs.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of customs policy on the internationalization process of furniture MSMEs in Pasuruan by emphasizing the regulatory compliance aspect. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method on one of the furniture MSMEs that has carried out export activities. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation related to export procedures and compliance with customs requirements. The results of the study show that customs policy has a significant role in determining the smooth export process, especially in the aspects of administration, classification of goods, and fulfillment of export documents. The level of understanding of MSME actors with applicable regulations is a key factor in increasing compliance and minimizing export barriers. However, procedural complexity, limited regulatory literacy, and dynamic policy changes are still the main obstacles in the internationalization process. On the other hand, government support through socialization, digitization of customs services, and export facilitation has proven to be able to increase the readiness of MSMEs to penetrate the global market. This study concludes that the effectiveness of customs policies is not only determined by the regulations themselves, but also by the level of adaptation and compliance of MSMEs to the applicable regulations. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of increasing legal literacy and strengthening the assistance system for MSMEs to increase export competitiveness in a sustainable manner.
