Lesson study was a practical approach to improve the quality of instruction and use widely in professional development programs for teachers. This article presents an innovative approach to developing the instruction ability and skills of science teacher candidates when actual teaching practice in a classroom through lesson study. Based on the lesson study approach, science teacher candidates worked collaboratively to understand the curriculum and state the desired learning outcomes; design lesson plans; teach a common lesson in 4 different classrooms; and conduct reflection to share, discuss, and refine their lesson. The teaching abilities and skills are assessed based on knowledge of the subject matter, quality of lesson plans, and learning practices. The result showed that the lesson study approach was a vital structure that helped science teacher candidates improve their teaching skills and ability. The research result gives implications for development programs for science teacher candidates will be discussed in light of these findings.

This study aims to examine student learning activities using the Discovery Learning learning model at SMP Negeri 01 Silo. The methods used to collect data are observation, interviews, and documents. From this study, data were obtained which were described as necessary. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning learning model can increase student learning activities in the classroom to be more active so that students pay more attention to the delivery of material, ask questions about material that has not been understood, and answer questions.

Pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan lingkungan sekolah sebagai sumber belajar dapat memberikan pengalaman nyata dan langsung kepada siswa. Lingkungan sebagai sarana belajar berarti segala sesuatu yang ada di sekitar kita dan di sekeliling kita, seperti benda mati dan organisme hidup, yang dimanfaatkan dalam proses belajar mengajar. Pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) merupakan bentuk variasi pembelajaran yang berkaitan dengan lingkungan alam. Hal ini menjadikan guru untuk berinovasi dengan memanfaatkan lingkungan sekitar sebagai sumber belajar di SMPN 4 Jember. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk pengenalan lingkungan persekolahan sebagai sumber belajar pada mata pelajaran IPA di sekolah. Dasar penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Lokasi penelitian ini dilakukan di SMPN 4 Jember yang beralamat di Jl. Nusa Indah, Kec. Patrang, Kab. Jember, Jawa Timur. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi dan wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil wawancara dan observasi yang diperoleh, bahwa pemanfaatan lingkungan sekolah sebagai bahan belajar dapat membuat siswa lebih mudah memahami dan mengerti dengan apa yang dipelajari, sehingga dapat memudahkan untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran.

This journal reviews the role of the family in the development of children's character education. Where the family plays an important role in the development of children. Family is the first place for children's education. Children will learn first through the family. This study aims to explain and analyze how the role of the family itself on the development of the child. This type of research is descriptive research and literature review. Descriptive research is a research method that shows the characteristics or phenomena being studied. Until finally this research method mainly focused on explaining the object of research and answering what events or phenomena occurred.

Education is an effort to prepare a human being to become an independent person, capable of being a useful part of the community and taking part in efforts to build the nation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of social interaction on the learning motivation of new science education students. This study uses a literature study approach. The targets in this study were new students of Science Education at the University of Jember. In analyzing the primary hypothesis we use an analysis of the literature study. Conclusion, namely: Based on the analysis that we have done, it can be seen that there is a positive and significant interaction between social interaction and the learning motivation of new students of the Science Education Study Program at the University of Jember

This study aims to determine how influential internet technology is on the character development of students in a junior high school institution conducted at SMPN 3 Jember. In this study we use qualitative methods. Internet technology has a very big influence on all aspects. One aspect of internet technology is information technology where the existence of internet technology in information makes the era of globalization where the era is very easily accessible resulting in vulnerability, especially to the character development of junior high school students. It can be said that if information through internet technology is very easily accessible, it will have a bad effect on character development. The qualitative method used in this research is the study of literature, and a sociological approach and the application of behavioral psychology theory.

This study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model in science subjects at SMP Negeri 9 Jember. The sample of this research was class VIII students of SMP Negeri 9 Jember as the recipients of the action, Science teachers at SMP Negeri 9 Jember as the subject of the action, and the researcher as the subject who made the observations. Methods of data collection carried out by researchers through interviews, observation, and experiments. The results of the study showed that there were differences in students' critical thinking skills in natural science learning on digestion using the practicum-based Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with groups of students using conventional learning models. So it can be concluded that the practicum-based Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model can improve the critical thinking skills of class VIII students in science learning at SMP Negeri 9 Jember.

Along with the times, the development of Information Technology (IT) is also growing rapidly. The need for IT-based teaching and learning concepts and mechanisms is inevitable. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, information technology was inevitably forced to move forward to meet the needs in the world of education. The concept which was later known as e-learning brought the influence of the transformation process of conventional education into digital form, both content and system. In the research that has been carried out, it is expected to be able to determine the level of motivation in online or distance learning in students majoring in Mathematics and Natural Sciences. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a total sample of 9 students. Data collection techniques by distributing online questionnaires. The results of the study showed that 66.67% of students were unmotivated to learn online and 33.33% were motivated by online learning. So it can be said that learning is less able to motivate students.

In this study raised several main issues, namely: (1) extracurricular activities at SMAN 4 Probolinggo, (2) Increasing student motivation at SMAN 4 Probolinggo, (3) The effect of extracurricular activities carried out on students' learning motivation. In answering this research, the information obtained is based on interviews. The population is class 11B students at SMAN 4 Probolinggo, namely 36 students. Then the number of students who were taken as samples in this study were taken 11 people from SMAN 4 Probolinggo students. From the results of data processing, the results of extracurricular activities at SMAN 4 Probolinggo are very effective in increasing students' learning motivation. But the division of time between study and rest, considering that these students are still in the learning process so they need the support of all parties from the survival of the school in the future to increase learning motivation

Student Center Learning (SCL) adalah suatu pendekatan dalam pembelajaran yang memberdayakan peserta didik menjadi pusat perhatian selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan student centered learning (SCL) terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA kelas VIII D SMPN 6 Jember Kecamatan Kaliwates Kabupaten Jember. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini melalui wawancara, dokumentasi dan observasi. Data diperoleh dari studi pendahuluan terkait kondisi siswa dan pembelajaran, serta dokumentasi kegiatan penerapan metode pembelajaran student centered learning. Pada kegiatan belajar mengajar di SMPN 6 Jember, guru menggunakan metode student centered learning (SCL) dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas, yaitu metode pembelajaran berbasis proyek, metode diskusi kelompok, dan metode kooperatif. Metode SCL ini telah berhasil menimbulkan semangat dalam belajar sehingga dengan bantuan guru berhasil membuat aktivitas belajar siswa yang menyenangkan.
