Abstract

Fine motor skills development presents significant challenges for slow learners in early childhood education. This study investigated the effectiveness of local wisdom-based play methods using geometric clay modeling activities to enhance fine motor skills among slow learner children in kindergarten settings. A collaborative classroom action research design following the Kemmis and McTaggart model was implemented across three cycles at State Kindergarten 1, Long Mesangat District. Five male participants aged 5-6 years, identified as slow learners with fine motor difficulties, engaged in structured clay modeling activities incorporating traditional geometric patterns. Data collection utilized systematic observations with validated checklists assessing five domains: hand dexterity, eye-hand coordination, muscle strength, cultural integration, and motivation levels. Performance was evaluated using four developmental categories from "Not Yet Developed" to "Very Well Developed." Substantial improvements occurred across all intervention cycles. Baseline assessment revealed 80% of participants classified as "Not Yet Developed" and 20% as "Beginning to Develop." Following three intervention cycles, final outcomes showed 60% achieving "Very Well Developed" status and 40% reaching "Developing as Expected" levels. No participants remained in lower developmental categories by study completion. Teacher performance also improved from predominantly "Fair" ratings to 75% "Excellent" evaluations. Local wisdom-based clay modeling activities effectively enhanced fine motor skills in slow learners through culturally responsive, hands-on learning approaches. The progressive improvement pattern demonstrates the value of systematic, repeated interventions utilizing traditional materials and techniques. Results support the integration of culturally relevant practices in special education programming, providing evidence for effective inclusive education strategies that honor both individual learning needs and cultural heritage.

Abstract

Teacher effectiveness in inclusive kindergarten settings requires understanding multiple factors that influence performance. Limited research examines the combined effects of leadership, psychological, and pedagogical factors on inclusive early childhood education quality. This study investigated the influence of principal leadership, teacher self-efficacy, and instructional innovation on teaching performance among inclusive kindergarten teachers in East Kutai Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative causal associative design was employed with 90 inclusive kindergarten teachers selected through stratified random sampling across 18 sub-districts. Data were collected using validated questionnaires measuring principal leadership (α = 0.889), teacher self-efficacy (α = 0.853), instructional innovation (α = 0.935), and teaching performance (α = 0.824). Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted after confirming classical assumptions. Principal leadership (β = 0.610, p < 0.001) and teacher self-efficacy (β = 0.361, p < 0.001) significantly predicted teaching performance, while instructional innovation showed no significant influence (β = 0.043, p = 0.456). The model explained 78.3% of performance variance (Adjusted R² = 0.783, F = 107.869, p < 0.001). Principal leadership emerges as the strongest predictor of teaching performance in inclusive kindergarten settings, followed by teacher self-efficacy. The non-significant innovation effect suggests implementation challenges requiring further investigation. These findings support prioritizing transformational leadership development and self-efficacy enhancement programs for inclusive education improvement.

Abstract

Speech delays affect 5-10% of preschool children and require collaborative intervention approaches. Limited research exists on teacher-parent collaboration models in rural communities for addressing early childhood communication challenges. This study investigated teacher-parent collaboration patterns in supporting children with speech delays aged 5-6 years within a plantation community setting.  A qualitative descriptive study was conducted at TK Anugerah Abadi 1, East Kalimantan, involving 20 parents and 3 teachers. Data collection employed interviews, observations, field notes, and documentation review. Methodological triangulation ensured data validity, while thematic analysis identified collaboration patterns and intervention strategies.  Three primary collaboration modes emerged: quarterly home visitations, school-based meetings, and continuous digital communication. Direct face-to-face interaction predominated, facilitated by the compact plantation community structure. Collaborative content focused on developmental progress, behavioral observations, and intervention strategies. Environmental factors, including COVID-19 restrictions and excessive screen time exposure, contributed to speech delays. The three-tiered intervention approach successfully improved children's communication abilities and enhanced parental knowledge. Parents reported increased confidence in supporting language development following collaborative education sessions. However, scheduling challenges due to parents' work demands required weekend meeting arrangements. Effective teacher-parent collaboration for speech delay intervention requires sustained, multifaceted approaches combining direct communication, environmental adaptation, and targeted parent education. The plantation community's geographic proximity facilitated intensive collaboration but may limit generalizability to other settings. Future research should examine collaboration sustainability and effectiveness across diverse community contexts to develop scalable intervention models.

Abstract

Number recognition represents a fundamental cognitive milestone in early childhood development, yet children with learning difficulties often struggle with abstract mathematical concepts. This study investigated the effectiveness of concrete media-based project learning in enhancing number recognition abilities among kindergarten children at risk of learning difficulties. An action research design following the Kemmis and McTaggart model was implemented over three iterative cycles from January to May 2025. The participant was a 5-6 year-old child identified with learning difficulties at TK Negeri Pembina, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The intervention employed Project-Based Learning methodology through a "Mini Market" theme utilizing concrete manipulatives including toy fruits, play money, price cards, and calculators. Data collection involved structured oral assessments measuring numerical symbol recognition, quantity-symbol matching, and project participation, alongside qualitative observations. Performance was evaluated using a four-point scale, with success criteria set at ≥76% achievement. Substantial performance improvement was achieved from baseline 25% to final assessment 91.6%, representing a 66.6 percentage point increase. Progressive gains were documented across cycles: Cycle I (25% to 58.3%), Cycle II (66.6% to 75%), and Cycle III (83.3% to 91.6%). Qualitative observations revealed enhanced engagement, increased confidence, and improved social interaction during mathematical activities. The participant progressed from requiring extensive teacher assistance to independent task completion and peer collaboration. Concrete media-based project learning significantly enhanced number recognition abilities in children with learning difficulties. The systematic, multi-cycle intervention provides a replicable framework combining Piaget's developmental theory with contemporary project-based pedagogical approaches. These findings support inclusive educational practices emphasizing differentiated instruction through authentic, contextualized learning experiences.

Abstract

The provision of charging infrastructure is essential to support electric vehicle (EV) adoption and promote sustainable energy policies. Surabaya, one of the largest metropolitan cities in Indonesia, is preparing for a transition toward electric mobility but still faces a limited number of public EV charging stations (EVCS). This study addresses the EVCS location selection problem using an integrated multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach: the Analytic Network Process (ANP) and ELECTRE (Elimination and Choice Expressing Reality). ANP is used to structure the decision problem and determine criteria weights, while ELECTRE ranks the alternative locations. A community preference–based approach is adopted to capture the expectations of future users, all of whom are currently conventional vehicle users but interested in switching to EVs. Quantitative analysis reveals that usage-oriented factors (66.68%) outweigh travel-related considerations (33.32%). Among criteria, cleanliness and tidiness (36.40%) and security (31.90%) are especially influential, followed by road condition (10.72%) and amenities such as cafés and restaurants (8.71%). Less influential factors include retail facilities (4.20%), malls and entertainment access (4.27%), and traffic volume (3.80%). Three candidate locations, identified in a prior study based on expert judgment (e.g., accessibility, energy availability, and population), were evaluated. Based on the weighted criteria and alternative scores, location rankings were determined. Sensitivity analysis confirms the stability of the results, supporting the model’s robustness. This study offers a holistic and practical framework for EVCS site selection that incorporates future users’ preferences, ensuring that the charging infrastructure is both technically feasible and socially responsive to real urban mobility needs.

Abstract

Customs and values within Indigenous communities form the basis of customary behavior in understanding human conduct, particularly in the context of Balinese indigenous women's behavior as guardians of tradition in an empirical approach to legal anthropology. This means that the legal norms used to observe the behaviors of Balinese indigenous women as custodians of indigenous traditions within the frame of cultural relativism represent legal realities apparent in legal situations or any legal events that genuinely occur within the indigenous community, as manifestations of the indigenous women's behaviors in preserving sacred traditions. This is based on an empirical approach to Legal Anthropology. Whether acknowledged or not by the indigenous community, the empirical approach to cultural relativism fundamentally holds a social and cultural value system that can serve as the social capital of the nation. The community's attitudes and behaviors rooted in tradition are guided by values believed to be true, exemplifying the traditional values and cultures passed down through generations and perceived as instruments for social control and religious values that guide human life, manifesting the preservation of local cultural relativism among the local indigenous community. Indigenous communities in these regions become the focal research site with the hope of safeguarding traditional values as a reinforcement of customary practices, the culture, and the traditions of the local indigenous community, which embody the manifestation of protected local wisdom governed by regional customary laws. The methodological approach utilized involves the Empirical Approach of Legal Anthropology linked with the theory of cultural relativism, leading to the conclusion that the approach involves field observations, interviews with research informants, and analyzing primary, secondary, and tertiary data sources through the lens of cultural relativism concerning the behaviors of indigenous women based on an empirical approach within the context of indigenous customary law.

Abstract

Penyelenggaraan haji merupakan kegiatan yang mendapatkan pemantauan dari masyarakat sehingga setiap tahun dilakukan evaluasi dengan membuat Indeks Kepuasan Masyarakat. Pada indeks tersebut prestasi Kementerian Agama dalam penyelenggaraan haji selalu meningkat. Namun penyelenggaraan haji belum memperhitungkan dampak lingkungan. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengembangan model manasik haji go green di Kementerian Agama Jawa Tengah dan untuk menganalisis faktor pendukung dan penhambat kebijakan manasik haji go green pada Kementerian Agama Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan R and D dalam hal pengembangan model manasik haji berbasis go green dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran jamaah haji mengenai kepedulian lingkungan dan sampah. Hasil penelitian: 1) manasik haji merupakan salah satu kegiatan pada rangkaian penyelenggaraan ibadah haji, kelemahan dalam manasik haji konvensional adalah tidak adanya pengetahuan mengenai go green sehingga berdampak pada perilaku jamaah haji yang tidak mempunyai kepedulian terhadap sampah; 2) untuk menindaklanjuti kelemahan manasik haji maka materi manasik haji perlu dilengkapi dengan pengetahuan go green, sampah dan perilaku peduli lingkungan dengan menggunakan tahapan pembangunan perilaku baik melalui pengetahuan, pemahaman, aktivitas, penyadaran dan implementasi sikap; 3) faktor pendukung implementasi manasik haji go green adalah adanya masalah sampah, dukungan dari Kementerian Agama, sumber daya manusia yakni narasumber manasik haji, anggaran, dukungan stakeholder dan faktor penghambat adalah sikap menolak perubahan dan struktur birokrasi. Kesimpulan: implementasi manasik haji go green merupakan kebijakan publik yang dilakukan untuk membangun karakter jamaah haji sehingga mempunyai kepedulian terhadap sampah dan lingkungan.

Abstract

Microcontroller practicum learning in Vocational High Schools (SMK) requires effective media to help students understand both concepts and practical skills optimally. This study aims to analyze the comparison of the effectiveness of three microcontroller practicum media, namely trainer-box, simulation software, and breadboard hands-on, in improving student learning outcomes. The research was conducted using a quasi-experimental method on 14 students from class XI at SMK Negeri 1 Sentani, majoring in Industrial Electronics. The instruments used were a pretest and posttest consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions, along with a student satisfaction questionnaire with 12 Likert scale questions. The analysis results show that the average pretest score of 52.143 increased to 71.786 in the posttest. The N-Gain calculation resulted in a value of 0.41, which falls into the moderate category, indicating that the use of all three media was effective in improving student learning outcomes. Based on the questionnaire results, student responses to the practicum media varied. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis rasio gliserol dan selulosa terhadap kekuatan tarik, elongation, dan ketebalan home made bioplaslits dengan pemanfaatan limbah kulit singkong. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Casting. Tahap pembuatan bioplaslits yaitu pembuatan pati dari kulit singkong, pembuatan lembar bioplaslits, dan uji lembar bioplaslits. Uji kekuatan tarik (tensile strength) dan elongation menggunakan Universal Testing Machine (UTM) zwick/roell. Sedangkan ketebalannya menggunakan Thickness Gauge Mitutoyo. Lembar bioplaslits berupa lembaran tipis plastik yang dibuat menggunakan 5 gram pati dengan campuran  selulosa (0.4; 0.6; 0.8) gram dan gliserol (100%, 150%, 200%) ml yang telah diuji sifat mekaniknya. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah sifat mekanik kekuatan tarik bioplaslits terbaik ditunjukan oleh sampel kode C2G2 dengan konsentrasi 1,5 ml gliserol dan 0,8 gram selulosa dengan nilai kuat tarik rata-rata sampel 7.4808 (Mpa), sedangkan elongationnya paling tinggi ditunjukan pada sampel berkode C3G3 dengan konsentrasi 2,0 ml gliserol dan 0,8 gram selulosa dengan nilai rata-rata elongation sampel 6.2448%, adapun ketebalan paling tinggi ditunjukan pada sampel berkode C2G2, konsentrasi 1,5 ml gliserol dan 0,6 gram selulosa dengan nilai rata-rata ketebalan 269.066 (µm). Penambahan plasticizer gliserol dapat meningkatkan elongation, elastisitas, dan ketebalan lembar bioplaslits. Sedangkan penambahan konsentrasi selulosa dapat meningkatkan kuat tarik lembar bioplaslits.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of financial literacy, digital literacy, and business knowledge on the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with innovation as a mediating variable. Data were collected from MSME respondents in Central Jakarta using a structured survey. The analysis method used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. The results showed that financial literacy, digital literacy, and business knowledge have a significant influence on innovation and development of MSMEs. Directly, financial literacy affects innovation with a t-count value of 14.715 (p-value 0.000) and MSME development with a t-count value of 7.568 (p-value 0.000). Digital literacy shows a significant influence on innovation (t-count 15.082; p-value 0.000) and MSME development (t-count 8.654; p-value 0.000). Business knowledge also affects innovation (t-count 12.918; p-value 0.000) and MSME development (t-count 7.477; p-value 0.000). Testing the indirect effect through innovation shows significant results. Financial literacy influences MSME development through innovation with a t-count of 2.205 (p-value 0.022). Digital literacy shows a significant indirect influence on MSME development through innovation (t-count 2.197; p-value 0.023). Business knowledge is also shown to influence MSME development indirectly through innovation (t-count 2.195; p-value 0.023). Innovation is proven to be a mediator that strengthens the relationship between the three independent variables and MSME development. This research provides practical contributions in the form of recommendations for improving financial literacy, digital technology adoption, and better business understanding to support MSME innovation and growth. In addition, innovation is a strategic key in creating competitiveness and business sustainability in the midst of modern economic challenges.
