Abstract

This present research was aimed to improve the EFL learners’ speaking ability and their classroom activities through the implementation of Interactive Storytelling Strategy. Therefore, this study was directed to explore the beneficial of Interactive Storytelling that closely related to the EFL learners’ everyday activities at their home and school. The subject consisted of 22 of Junior High of Indonesian EFL learners. A Classroom Action Research in two cycles had been conducted within 6 meetings for every cycle. The meetings were focused on the interactivity and communicative ability among learners. The research result showed that the learners’ speaking ability improved from 17 or 72,27% passed in Cycle 1 to 22 or 100% passed the criteria of success in Cycle 2. It also showed that their classroom activities improved from 8 or 36,36% who were very active (VA) and 14 or 63,64% who were active (A) to 18 or 81,82% were very active (VA) and 4 or 18,18% were active (A). In conclusion, the implementation of Interactive Storytelling Strategy increased the EFL learners’ speaking ability and their classroom activities.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan keterampilan menulis mahasiswa khususnya dalam mengorganisasi ide dengan menerapkan belajar mandiri. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tahun ke-dua Jurusan Bahasa Inggris Universita Madako yang terdiri dari 23 mahasiswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari, perencanaan, penerapan, observasi, dan refleksi. Kriteria keberhasilan adalah ≥80% jumlah mahasiswa harus mencapai ≥65. Siklus pertama menunjukkan bahwa kurang dari 80% mahasiswa yang mencapai kriteria; oleh karena itu perbaikan perencanaan untuk siklus ke 2 dilakukan. Hasil siklus ke 2 menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 80% mahasiswa memperoleh skor ≥65 dan oleh sebab itu siklus di hentikan karena kriteria ketuntasan telah dicapai dan itu berarti bahwa penerapan beljar mandiri effektif untuk mengembangkan keterampilan menulis mahasiswa. Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed at (1) finding the types of reference as cohesive device in essays written by the fourth semester students of the English study program Universitas Riau, and (2) calculating the frequency of reference used in essays written by the fourth semester students of the English study program Universitas Riau. Documentation such as written texts was the main technique of collecting the required data. The data were analyzed by using theories from Halliday and Hassan (2013) about references as cohesive devices in the essays written by the students and by giving the percentage on the use of references. The research findings showed that all the types of reference as cohesive devices were used in the essays written by the fourth semester students with the total number of 954 devices. The most frequent reference cohesive devices used by the fourth semester students of the English study program Universitas Riau was personal reference with the percentage of 53.3% followed by demonstrative reference with the percentage of 45.8% and comparative reference with the percentage 0.9%. It could be concluded that Personal reference was the most frequently used because it may refer not only to a particular person or object, but also to any identifiable person.Key Words: Reference, Cohesive Device, Essay

Abstract

The implementation of Islamic law in Aceh is included education by organizing Islamic curriculum in each level of education. How is the implementation of the curriculum in a multi-religious society like Banda Aceh? Banda Aceh has implemented a model of Islamic education through Diniyyah which has been implemented in all public schools in Banda Aceh since 2011, started with elementary, junior and senior high school. The results showed that the implementation of Islamic curriculum in Banda Aceh through diniyyah been operating effectively and do not make the non-Muslim communities disrupted. The implementation of Islamic education through Diniyyah did not clash with the main curriculum because it was implemented in the afternoon. So, this should be one of the models of Islamic curriculum implementation in Indonesia, particularly in areas which Muslim is majority without denying the existence of minorities.

Abstract

This study aims at determining styles of leadership in improving the performance of personnel, factors affecting the personnel performance, and inhibitors in improving the performance of personnel. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were done through observation, interview and documentation study. The subjects were principal, vice director, heads of division, and teachers of Dayah. The results showed that: 1) The leadership styles of dayah in improving the performance of personnel was a consultative, participative and instructive leadership style. 2) Factors that affected performance of personnel were the authority and charismatic of the principal in the presence of personnel, and democratic in decision making, and the religious environment, 3) The limiting factors in improving the performance of the personnel were the number of students that exceeds the capacity dormitories which were available, some of the personnel did not have the administration skill background, the minority of personnel who were less active, and were not able to provide financial support for the personnel.

Abstract

Karya sastra menjadi media pengungkapan pikiran-pikiran pengarang dengan nilai-nilai yang terkandung di dalamnya, sehingga dapat memberikan manfaat bagi para pembacanya. Pembaca diharapkan dapat menemukan dan mengambil nilai-nilai tersebut dalam karakter (watak) tokoh di dalamnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan nilai-nilai karakter kewargaan yang terkandung di dalam novel Pulang karya Darwis Tere Liye. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analisis isi dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik pembacaan dan pencatatan. Validitas yang dipergunakan ialah validitas semantik. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu: (1) Wujud nilai-nilai karakter kewargaan yang terdapat dalam novel Pulang meliputi karakter-karakter religius, jujur, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, mandiri, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, semangat kebangsaan, cinta tanah air, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat/komunikatif, cinta damai, senang membaca, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab; (2) Wujud nilai karakter kewargaan yang terdapat dalam tokoh utama dalam novel Pulang meliputi karakter-karakter religius, jujur, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, mandiri, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat/komunikatif, cinta damai, senang membaca, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab. Kata Kunci: Nilai-nilai karakter, novel Pulang, karakter kewargaan.  CONTENT OF THE VALUE OF CITIZENSHIP CHARACTER  IN NOVEL PULANG BY DARWIS TERE LIYE  Abstract Literary work becomes a media for expressing the thoughts of the author with the values contained in it, so that it can provide benefits to its readers. The reader is expected to find and take these values in the character of the characters in the literary work. This research aims to reveal the values of the character of citizenship contained in the novel Pulang Darwis Tere Liye's work. This research is a content analysis research with qualitative approach. Techniques of data collection using reading and recording techniques. The validity used is semantic validity. The results of this study are: (1). The values of the civic characters in the novel Pulang include religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, spirit of nationality, appreciate achievement, friendly/communicative, peace loving, reading pleasure, social care, and responsibility; (2) The values of civic characters in the main actor in novel Pulang are religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, appreciative, communicative, peace loving, reading pleasure, social care, and responsibility. Keywords: Character values, novel Pulang, civic character.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pembinaan karakter melalui keteladanan guru Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan di Sekolah Islam Al Azhar Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah guru Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan dan Kepala Sekolah di Sekolah Islam Al Azhar Yogya-karta. Pengumpulan data dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Pemeriksaan keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi sumber. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif melalui tahap pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan di Sekolah Islam Al Azhar Yogyakarta melakukan pendidikan karakter melalui keteladanan berupa tutur kata, ciri kepribadian, sikap, dan penampilan yang sesuai dengan karakter religius, disiplin, demokratis, semangat kebangsaan, cinta tanah air, cinta damai, peduli lingkungan, dan peduli sosial. Kata Kunci: pembinaan karakter, keteladanan guru, pendidikan kewarganegaraan BUILDING CHARACTER THROUGH THE EXAMPLE OF CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION TEACHERS IN AL AZHAR ISLAMIC SCHOOL OF YOGYAKARTA Abstract: This research aims to reveral the character building through the example of citizenship education teachers in Al Azhar Islamic School of Yogyakarta. This research was qualitative research using the descriptive approach. The subjects of the research were citizenship education teachers and principal of Al Azhar Islamic School of Yogyakarta. The data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data validation was done by triangulation. The result of this study is as follows citizenship education teachers in Al Azhar Islamic School of Yogyakarta build student’s character through the exemplary form of speech, personality traits, attitudes, and performance of being suitable for the character of religiousity, discipline, democracy, the spirit of nationalism, patriotism, love of peace, environmental care, and care of society. Abstract

Islam dengan kedua sumber pokoknya Alquran dan Sunnah merupakan agamayang sarat dengan konsep-konsep ilmu pengetahuan. baik ilmu-ilmu yang berkaitandengan agama senditi maupun ilmu-ilmu umum atau ilmu-ilmu modem. Salah satu darikonsep-konsep yang digatiskan oleh Islam adalah konsep pendidikan.Oalam konsep Islam. pendidikan yang sebenamya adalah pendidikan yangbertujuan mewujudkan akhlak alau budi pekerti yang luhur. Oi samping itu, Islam tidakhanya mementingkan pemerolehan ilmu yang dipelajari saja (aspek kognitif), melainkanjuga pengamalan ilmu yang diperolehnya (aspek afektif dan psikomototik) serta harusdilandasi dengan nilai-nilai agama, yakni keimanan dan ketaqwaan kepada Allah swr.Dengan demikian, Islam tidak banya mementingkan masalah fikir tetapi Islam lebihmementingkan masalah zikir.Eksistensi Pendidikan Agama (termasuk Pendidikan Agama Islam atau PAl) diPerguruan Tinggi Umum di samping merupakan mata kuliah yang wajib diambil olehmahasiswa, juga sangat berarti untuk mewujudkan tercapainya tujuan pendidikanseperti yang digatiskan oleh Sistem Pendidikan Nasional. yaitu manusia yang berimandan bertaqwa kepada Tuban Yang Maha Esa serta berbudi pekerti luhur. Abstract

AbstractThis thesis discusses the research finding result of developing multimedia of powerpoint based Ispring8 to mathematic learning in the elementary school. The presentresearch purposes to produce products in the form of valid, practical, and effectivecriteria and describe the ways of use and the obstacles encountered when usingmultimedia that was developed. The development research model used is a 4-D model(Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) which has been adapted, namely thedevelopment research stages as follows (1) product discovery, (2) product manufacture,(3) product development and (4) product dissemination. Based on the explanation of theresults of research and discussion, conclusions can be obtained, namely (1) Theproducts compiled fulfill valid criteria with a value of 86.67; (2) Products arrangedpractically with a value of 79.375. (3) The products arranged can be used in learningand provide effective results in the assessment of knowledge and skills. The effectivenessin the results of the knowledge assessment is equal to 79.79 and the effectiveness in theresults of the skills assessment 83.67. (4) Constraints faced in the use of multimediadeveloped are the inadequate availability of computer equipment in primary schools sothat it affects the processing time by students.Keywords: Mathematic Learning, Multimedia Development

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe the relationship between: self efficacy with learning outcomes, discipline with learning outcomes, responsibility with learning outcomes, interest in learning with learning outcomes, self efficacy, discipline, responsibility and interest in learning joint learning outcomes, as well as, and major responsibilities contributing to success, discipline, responsibility and interest in learning towards the results of mathematics learning in fourth grade students of 28 Pontianak Elementary School. This study uses descriptVe methods using quantitatVe. This type of research is correlational. This study is a population research with a population of 66 students. Data collection is done using a questionnaire instrument. Data analysis techniques were carried out by descriptVe statistical analysis, while to determine the relationship between variable variables namely self efficacy, discipline, responsibility and interest in learning with mathematics learning outcomes were used through simple calculations and multiple conversions. The results showed that there was a positVe and significant relationship between: self efficacy with learning outcomes, discipline with learning outcomes, responsibility with learning outcomes, interest in learning with learning outcomes, self efficacy, discipline, responsibility answer answer and interest in learning together with learning outcomes with the results of mathematics learning in fourth grade students of 28 Pontianak Elementary School.Keywords : Discipline, Interest, Mathematics Learning Outcomes, Responsibility, Self Efficacy
