Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between religiosity and quality of life through a comprehensive meta-analysis, motivated by inconsistent findings in previous research that range from strong positive correlations to weak or non-significant associations. Understanding this relationship is crucial for clarifying the psychological and social functions of religiosity in contemporary societies. This research employed a quantitative meta-analytic design by synthesizing 31 Scopus-indexed empirical studies published between 2015 and 2024. Data were extracted in the form of correlation coefficients and analyzed using a random-effects model, accompanied by heterogeneity tests, publication bias assessments, and robustness checks. This methodological approach ensured systematic data integration without presenting technical details excessively. The findings show a significant positive correlation between religiosity and quality of life (r = 0.32; 95% CI [0.20, 0.44]; p < 0.001). Substantial heterogeneity (Q = 656.535; p < 0.001) suggests that cultural, demographic, and methodological differences may moderate this relationship. The absence of publication bias and a high fail-safe N value (5,109) further confirm the stability of the results. These findings imply that religiosity functions as a meaningful psychological, social, and spiritual resource capable of enhancing individual well-being across diverse populations. The results contribute to the development of resilience- and spirituality-based interventions in psychological, health, and community settings. The originality of this study lies in its synthesis of a full decade of empirical evidence, offering the most updated meta-analytic confirmation of the religiosity–quality of life relationship. This research provides new value by integrating large-scale data, addressing inconsistencies in prior findings, and strengthening theoretical and practical understanding of how religiosity contributes to human well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the optimal bladder volume that can balance the dose distribution to the organs-at-risk (OARs), specifically the bladder and rectum, and to analyze the relationship between variations in bladder volume and the dose received by these two organs during high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy. Six bladder volume variations, namely empty, 100 cc, 150 cc, 200 cc, 250 cc, and 300 cc, were used to analyze the correlation between bladder volume and the radiation dose received by the bladder and rectum. An experimental approach was employed by observing the dose point distribution and the D2cc dose to both organs based on calculations from the Treatment Planning System (TPS), which were then compared with analytical calculations using a quadratic polynomial regression model via the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method. In general, the bladder point dose and D2cc dose increased with increasing bladder volume; however, the rectal dose demonstrated very high stability (90-100 cGy). Based on the variations in bladder volume, the optimal volume was 100 cc, as it protects the bladder by minimizing dose distribution and stabilizes the dose to the rectum. The statistical analysis results showed that the quadratic regression model had a high goodness-of-fit to the experimental data, with a coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.92.

Abstract

Extremism among students can have very serious consequences. It can not only damage the image and reputation of educational institutions, but can also cause broader social damage. Violent acts carried out by students can instill fear, damage intergroup relations in society, and reduce social tensions. This study aims to 1) identify early signs of extremist behavior among students through social media; 2) Identify specific factors that encourage or reduce the tendency of extremist behavior through social media. The results of the study indicate that: 1. Overall, the level of tendency of digital-based extremist behavior among students can be considered high, because the frequency of the majority of respondents (35.10%) is in the high category. These results indicate that students are still quite vulnerable to exposure to extremist content in the digital space: 2) The tendency of digital-based extremism among students is more at the ideological and attitudinal level (loyalty, justification of violence, and rejection of diversity) than at the level of concrete actions (access, community involvement, and commitment to extreme action). In other words, students are in a phase of ideological vulnerability that requires serious attention through digital literacy programs, strengthening national understanding, and learning tolerance to prevent the development of these ideological attitudes into concrete extreme behavior.

Abstract

This article analyzes mappajalang dowi', a harvest-linked debt practice among Bugis farmers in Puse, Tolitoli, through a legal-anthropological lens that connects Islamic legal doctrine with community practice. Limited access to salaried employment and formal financial services sustains villagers' dependence on pre-harvest borrowing, with repayment due after the harvest season. Based on a qualitative case study employing observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, this research reconstructs the contractual structure of the practice, particularly ijab–kabul, mutual expectations, and the proportional ziyādah (increase) that may rise when repayment is delayed. A normative assessment grounded in classical Islamic jurisprudence covering benevolent lending (qardh al-hasan), gratuitous transactions (tabarru'), and unlawful gain (riba), as well as contemporary Indonesian Sharia economic regulations and fatwas, shows that the pre-agreed ziyādah converts the arrangement into a benefit-bearing loan and therefore constitutes indicators of riba. To maintain both Sharia compliance and rural social solidarity, the study proposes alternatives such as genuine benevolent lending with explicit anti-promise clauses, the use of sale-based contracts like salam and murābahah for agricultural inputs, and the establishment of community tabarru' funds. The study presents a context-sensitive framework for enhancing Islamic economic practices in agrarian smallholder contexts.

Abstract

The traditional instrument manufacturer IKM Kompang Kulit Kambing Medan Kampai experienced major problems with inefficient facility layout. This resulted in losses for the company due to high material handling costs, long production times, and decreased productivity. Systemic Layout Planning (SLP) was the method used in this study, supported by data collection and analysis through the use of relationship diagrams and process flow diagrams. Several new layouts were created to reduce transfer distances and material management costs. This study recently focused on traditional instrument SMEs using structured industrial techniques. In addition, comparing SLP with graphical methods provides a culture-based industrial perspective. The evaluation results show that the SLP approach is the best layout method, resulting in the shortest distance of 78. Meanwhile, the Graph Method resulted in a distance of 184.8. Thus, the Kompang Kulit Kambing Medan Kampai SME must reorganize its production space to be more efficient and effective. This will increase the competitiveness of SMEs and help preserve cultural heritage through sustainable production. Keywords: Facility Layout, Systematic Layout Planning (SLP), Graph Method, Production Efficiency, Culture-Based Industry.

Abstract

Globally, there is a recognized need to develop resilient, culture-based educational models that effectively integrate traditional values with modern challenges. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between cultural elements and the educational system in Acehnese dayah (traditional Islamic boarding schools) by employing a holistic-integrative approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis at two major dayah in Aceh: Dayah Babussalam Al-Hanafiyyah and Dayah MUDI Mesra Samalanga. Findings reveal that the dayah educational system is intricately linked to seven cultural elements (e.g., knowledge, social organization, religion), forming a unique educational ecosystem. Key mechanisms, including the halaqah method, the use of classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning), and spiritual arts (zikir), facilitate the transmission of religious, social, and spiritual identity. This system both preserves classical Islamic values and demonstrates gradual adaptation to modernity. Islamic education in Acehnese dayah represents a resilient, culture-based learning model that successfully cultivates religious understanding alongside social and spiritual identity. This research offers a robust reference for contextual development of Islamic education, showing how traditional models can be strengthened by integrating local culture while effectively responding to modernization without abandoning their foundational roots.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the economic resilience of embroidery artisans in North Aceh Regency and to develop an evidence-based policy framework tailored to local needs. The research employed a concurrent mixed-methods approach by integrating quantitative and qualitative data collected through semi-structured questionnaires administered to 110 embroidery artisans in Muara Batu District. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative responses were examined through thematic coding. The findings reveal that, overall, the artisans’ economic resilience falls within the moderate category, with an average score of 2.69 on a four-point scale. Two dimensions, namely business capacity and household economic resilience, remain at a moderate level, whereas access to capital and technology, as well as institutional networks, appear relatively stronger. The results also highlight vulnerabilities in income stability, emergency savings, and limited access to financing and business training. On the other hand, artisans demonstrate notable strengths in product innovation, digital marketing adoption, and openness to customer feedback. Based on these results, the study emphasizes the importance of strengthening community institutions, expanding access to financial resources, promoting digital-based marketing, and fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration as key strategies to enhance economic resilience. This research contributes by providing empirical evidence that can serve as a foundation for formulating evidence-based policies in the craft sector, thereby ensuring that interventions are more contextual, adaptive, and sustainable.

Abstract

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has encouraged the integration of Learning Management Systems (LMS) in higher education, including in reading instruction. Although Moodle is widely adopted, empirical evidence based on experimental approaches that directly examine its effectiveness in enhancing undergraduate students’ reading comprehension remains limited, particularly in comparison with conventional reading instruction. This study aimed to investigate the effect of Moodle-based reading instruction on students’ reading comprehension and to compare learning outcomes between students taught through Moodle and those taught through traditional instructional methods. A quasi-experimental research design employing a pretest–posttest control group was applied. The participants consisted of 46 undergraduate students divided into two intact classes: an experimental group (n = 23) and a control group (n = 23). The experimental group received reading instruction through Moodle, integrating structured learning materials, interactive activities, and formative assessments, while the control group was taught using conventional face-to-face reading instruction with printed materials and teacher-led discussions. A reading comprehension test was administered as both a pretest and a posttest. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired-samples t-tests to examine within-group improvement, independent-samples t-tests to compare posttest performance between groups, and effect size analysis to assess practical significance. The results revealed that both groups demonstrated significant improvement in reading comprehension from pretest to posttest; however, the experimental group showed significantly greater gains than the control group. Furthermore, the posttest comparison indicated a statistically significant difference with a large effect size, suggesting that Moodle-based instruction had a substantial and educationally meaningful impact on students’ reading comprehension. Overall, the findings indicate that Moodle-based reading instruction is an effective approach for enhancing undergraduate students’ reading comprehension and offers considerable pedagogical benefits for reading instruction in higher education contexts.
