Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between religiosity and tolerance among university students. This research focuses on how university students’ level of religiosity relates to their attitudes towards differences in religion, culture, and views in the academic environment. The research method was a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. This study involved 160 students from various programs at several universities. Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of a religiosity measurement scale and tolerance attitude measurement scale. The religiosity measurement scale includes the dimensions of belief, involvement in religious activities, and importance of religion in daily life. The tolerance attitude measurement scale assessed students' responses to statements describing openness, appreciation, and respect for differences. The results of the analysis show a positive correlation between the level of religiosity of university students and their tolerance attitudes. Students who showed higher levels of religiosity tended to have more tolerant attitudes. These findings suggest that religion can act as an important factor in shaping students' social attitudes in the academic environment. This study contributes to the understanding of the role of religion in shaping tolerant attitudes among university students. The implications of these findings can help in designing more inclusive education programs that emphasize openness to differences and respect for diversity. In addition, this study underscores the importance of opening dialogue and facilitating faith in higher education settings. Although the findings provide valuable insights, this study has limitations in terms of sample coverage and geographical area. Further research involving larger and more diverse samples from different countries or regions is expected to corroborate and expand the generalizability of these findings. Future research could also explore other factors that may influence the relationship between religiosity and tolerance among university students.

Abstract

Digitalization has become an essential component for modern businesses, and without it, companies struggle to keep pace in the era of Industry 4.0. However, there is still limited research on the impact of digitalization within Islamic or Sharia-compliant businesses. This study aims to explore digitalization in Islamic business, focusing specifically on Indonesia. The research employs a narrative review methodology, analyzing existing literature on Islamic business to provide a comprehensive overview of the importance of digitalization. The findings reveal that digitalization offers numerous advantages for businesses, including those in the Islamic sector. Islamic banks, as a key component of Islamic business, were among the first to embrace digitalization. The study also highlights that stakeholder support in Indonesia for the digitalization of Islamic businesses is sufficiently robust. This research provides a unique perspective on the evolution of digitalization in Islamic enterprises and is intended to encourage further studies in the field of Islamic business in the context of Industry 4.0.

The goal is how to analyze the similarities and differences in the interpretation of the Koran and its Tafsir and Mafatih al-Ghaib. The type of research that the author uses is (Library Research) which is qualitative in nature which originates from the Koran, commentary books and books related to the studies that the author examines. The results of this study indicate that the similarities between the Qur'an and its Tafsir and Mafatih al-Ghaib in interpreting Qs al-Isra verse 50, Qs al-Kahf verse 96, Qs al-Hajj verse 21, Qs Saba verse 10 and Qs al-Hadid verse 25 are both explain the utilization of iron. Meanwhile, the difference is found in Qs al-Hadid verse 25, Qs al-Kahf verse 96 and Qs Saba verse 10. According to the Qur'an and its interpretation, iron is one of the elements that functions to transport acids from the lungs to all body tissues, known as iron. Meanwhile, ar-Razi interprets Qs al-Hadid verse 25 that iron is a weapon that can uphold justice and become a sanction for those who violate Islamic law. Then ar-Razi interprets Qs al-Kahf verse 96 that it is a miracle given by Allah to Zulkarnain and finally in Qs Saba verse 10 ar-Razi explains that the iron has been heated with a very hot hell fire.

Abstract

Methodology is an important thing in research. A particular family of knowledge will experience development and is considered not rigid when studied using a certain methodology. Like water in the desert, scientific civilization will feel barren if it is not studied using the correct methodology. This article is a conceptual work on normative legal research which is studied normatively or doctrinally. The approach in this research uses a Conceptual Approach and an Analytical Approach. The author analyzes normative legal research methodology starting from naming to data analysis methods. The conclusions in this article were obtained in an inductive-deductive way. The research results show the importance of using methodology as a branch of knowledge construction. Normative research is the same as library research, only there are several approaches and analyzes that are not the same. It is hoped that legal researchers will not abandon the legal research methodology which has become a rule even though there are many perspectives.

Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing murabahah margin income in Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia from 2013 to 2018, focusing on the BI Rate, overhead costs, and third-party funds (Dana Pihak Ketiga abbreviated DPK in Bahasa Indonesia). It aims to explore how these variables, individually and collectively, affect murabahah pricing, which is critical for ensuring competitiveness and adherence to Sharia principles in Islamic finance. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing secondary data from quarterly financial reports of Islamic banks. Multiple linear regression analysis, complemented by classical assumption tests, was used to evaluate the relationships between the independent variables and murabahah margin income. The analysis ensures robust insights into the financial dynamics of Islamic banking. The findings reveal that overhead costs significantly and positively influence murabahah margin income, underscoring the role of operational efficiency in pricing. While the BI Rate demonstrated a positive association with murabahah margins, its effect was statistically insignificant, highlighting the need for alternative Sharia-compliant benchmarks. DPK exhibited a negative but insignificant relationship, suggesting that its liquidity impact on murabahah margins may be indirect and moderated by other factors. The combined analysis showed that these variables significantly influence murabahah margins collectively, with overhead costs being the most dominant determinant. These results emphasize the interplay between macroeconomic indicators and operational strategies in murabahah pricing. They highlight the need for operational efficiency, ethical benchmarks, and innovative deposit mobilization strategies. This study contributes to the broader discourse on Islamic finance, offering actionable insights for improving financial sustainability and aligning practices with Sharia principles.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the values of benefit from the perspective of Islamic law regarding the transformation of qurban meat management through the Rendang-Mu program within the Lembaga Amil Zakat Infaq Shadaqah Muhammadiyah (LAZISMU) in the Central Java region, Indonesia. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques involved snowball and purposive sampling, with analysis conducted using the maqasid al-Shariah theory by al-Shatibi. The findings indicate that the Rendang-Mu Program represents a transformation in the pattern of meat management and distribution, implementing a system of qurban meat management through canning and packaging with three essential benefits that facilitate and enhance its utility: (1) prolonged consumption and distribution over an extended period, (2) practical, delicious, and nutritious, (3) more evenly distributed reach, (4) high flexibility in achieving community food security, and (5) compliance with Islamic law.

Abstract

Recently, the Indonesian Muslim community has been shocked by the government's policy to use the AstraZeneca Vaccine to minimize the negative impact of Corona Virus Disease 10 (Covid-19). This policy is permitted by the Fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), although it uses trypsin from pigs to make the vaccine. This article explains the legal problems of using the vaccine from a hermeneutic perspective. This research is a literature review using the MUI Fatwa Number 14 of 2021 concerning the Law on the Use of the Covid-19 Vaccine for AstraZeneca Products as primary data and analyzing it descriptively with a hermeneutic approach. The authors found that the MUI Fatwa Number 14 of 2021 was a direct request from the government and was used as a guideline for implementing the AstraZeneca Vaccine for Muslim communities in Indonesia. In determining the fatwa on the permissibility of using the AstraZeneca Vaccine in an emergency to create herd immunity against Covid-19, the MUI Fatwa Commission uses the qiyās and maqāsid al-syarī’ah methods. The use of these two methods can be seen from the citation of several fiqh rules and opinions of previous scholars. Even though there are contradictory responses to the MUI Fatwa, the only difference lies in the concept of istihālah (change of unclean objects to become holy) used by the fatwa institution.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of pesantren traditions with modern higher education at STAI As-Sunnah, an Islamic college in Indonesia. Employing a phenomenological approach, the research analyzes how this institution balances traditional values with contemporary educational demands. Key findings highlight STAI As-Sunnah's success in maintaining a focus on Arabic language learning and Islamic values while offering accredited study programs. However, the study also identifies discourses surrounding gender inclusivity, access to technology, and the balance between tradition and modernity. The study concludes that adopting more inclusive and adaptive approaches, such as blended learning, may help STAI As-Sunnah become an innovative model in Islamic higher education, contributing significantly to the development of Islamic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article examines the implementation of the theoretical humanism paradigm in holistic education, an approach that integrates human values and divine values. The research question asked is why it uses the paradigm of theoretical humanism to be implemented in holistic education. This research aims to explore the theory, philosophical foundation, and application of holistic education based on theocentric humanism. With the library research method, the results of the study show that the implementation of this paradigm includes the formulation of a curriculum based on divine values, moral reinforcement through reflective practices, the development of spirituality-based critical thinking skills, and the formation of a school culture that supports spiritual and intellectual harmony. This paradigm is also in line with the values of the Qur'an and hadith, which emphasizes morality and belief in the formation of a whole character. The conclusion suggests that this approach provides a solid foundation philosophically and provides practical implications in preparing students for worldly challenges while achieving greater spiritual closeness. This article is expected to contribute to the development of a curriculum based on divine and human values in the context of Islamic education to answer the challenges of modern education.
