Abstract

To realize Indonesia Emas, where digitalization is prevalent across various fields today, it is essential to cultivate computational thinking skills through mathematics learning. This study evaluates the effectiveness of interactive media in enhancing mathematical problem-solving skills among senior high school students. Utilizing a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, 60 grade XII students from a high school in Jakarta participated in this research over one semester. Interactive media, including computer applications and educational games like "MathQuest" and "Puzzle Logic," were employed to make learning more engaging and challenging. Data collection methods included classroom observations, in-depth interviews with students and teachers, and analysis of pre- and post-intervention test results. The findings indicated a significant improvement in problem-solving skills, with a 25% increase in the average final test scores compared to initial tests. Additionally, 85% of students reported heightened motivation to learn. The study underscores the importance of integrating interactive media into mathematics teaching strategies to improve students' problem-solving abilities. It recommends incorporating technology into the learning process to maximize the academic potential of students. More research is suggested on the use of interactive media in mathematics learning to achieve innovative and optimal results.

Abstract

This research examines the scientific interpretation of agricultural verses in the Ministry of Religion’s interpretation. The Ministry of Religion’s scientific interpretation work responds to efforts to integrate science and the Qur’an. It is motivated by modern social life characterized by advances in science and technology. Scientific interpretation is used in interpreting kauniyah verses by involving scientific tools. The meaning revealed results from a dialectical process between the Qur’an and scientific disciplines or modern science. This qualitative-descriptive research seeks to trace and classify the interpretation of agricultural verses in the Ministry of Religion’s scientific interpretation works. The findings show that the Ministry of Religion’s scientific interpretation of agricultural verses includes several aspects, such as the nature of human creation as managers of the earth, livelihoods, land use, use of plants for human life, water resources, and preventing water crises. The Ministry of Religion’s scientific interpretation of these agricultural verses responds to contemporary environmental crises and global warming phenomena. This interpretation also provides insight into ecological preservation by farming as a provider of life in the universe. Such environmental preservation can mitigate global crises caused by rapid industrial and technological life.

Abstract

This research critically examines Montgomery Watt’s views on the Prophet’s biography, particularly his relationship with the Jews, in order to refute the misconceptions raised by Watt and other Orientalists who adopted similar perspectives. The study focuses on a critical analysis of Watt’s interpretations of the Prophet’s relationship with the Jews in Medina through a thorough reading of the sixth chapter of his book. The researchers present and objectively critique a selection of Watt’s views, highlighting the ambiguity and bias in his narrative. The study reveals the author’s lack of objectivity in his depiction of the Prophet’s biography, as he selectively frames events in a way that portrays the Jews as victims of the Arabs and Islam. Furthermore, the research aims to shed light on the intellectual and Orientalist influences that may have shaped Watt’s approach and analysis.

Abstract

This study focuses and emphasizes on the religious activities of islanders in Banyak Island, Simeulue and Nias. This research aims to find religious models and coexistence strategies in interfaith between island communities. These three islands are geographically close and inhabited by people with different religious identities. This research uses qualitative research with an ethnographic approach, data collection is done through in-depth interviews with informants who live on the three islands. The results showed that island communities have a collective ability to manage diversity to avoid conflict in the name of religion. Identity as an “island community” becomes social capital in interpreting collective identity. The open character of island communities is also a cultural capital that can suppress suspicion of different groups. However, the three island communities also have different characteristics in the religious moderation policy space. Nias Islands with a majority Christian population composition shows a fairly strong attitude of tolerance. The principle of kinship adopted by the Nias community serves to strengthen relations between religious communities. Simeulue Islands, whose majority population is Muslim, also shows a high level of tolerance by giving permission to build houses of worship for Christians who have just arrived in Simeulue in the last two decades. In the context of Pulau Banyak, where the majority of the population is Muslim, tolerance is only seen in the economic, market and fishing industry aspects. On the other hand, tolerance does not apply to permits to build houses of worship. This study also discusses the importance of the role of religious and social actors in strengthening community harmony on the three islands under study.

Abstract

The global Muslim population is widely dispersed, with Indonesia having the largest Muslim majority. The halal industry, including the modest fashion sector, operates within an increasingly competitive global market. This study examines the development and challenges of Indonesia’s modest fashion industry within the global halal economy, addressing the critical barriers to its international expansion. Utilizing a qualitative research design with a descriptive approach, this study analyzes data from industry reports, policy documents, and relevant literature. The findings indicate that Indonesia’s Global Islamic Economy Indicator (GIEI) score for the fashion sector improved significantly from 2018 to 2021, positioning the country among the top 10 globally. However, this growth aligns with similar trends observed in competing nations, indicating that Indonesia still faces substantial challenges in maintaining its competitive edge. Key barriers include limited access to financing, difficulties in penetrating international markets, evolving consumer demands, inconsistent government policies, and the need for technological advancements in marketing, research, and development. Despite these obstacles, Indonesia’s modest fashion industry continues to expand, driven by increasing global recognition and ongoing industry innovation. The study highlights the need for strategic policy interventions and enhanced industry collaborations to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global halal fashion market.

Abstract

The decline of the Muslim community in India during the 18th and 19th centuries was attributed to both internal and external factors. Internally, it was driven by the collapse of the Mughal dynasty, particularly after the death of Emperor Aurangzeb. This internal decline was also exacerbated by stagnation within the Indian Muslim community. Externally, the influence of modern Western knowledge introduced by the British played a significant role. These two factors prompted theological movements initiated by Syaikh Waliyullah ad-Dahlawi and Seyyed Ahmad Khan, both of whom aspired to uplift the Indian Muslim community from its backwardness. The efforts of these two scholars were focused on reconstructing the theological framework that had long been established among Indian Muslims. Syaikh Waliyullah ad-Dahlawi aimed to free the Muslim community from religious orthodoxy. Meanwhile, Seyyed Ahmad Khan, in addition to advancing ad-Dahlawi’s efforts, introduced fresh ideas regarding Islamic education. Seyyed Ahmad Khan successfully integrated Islam as a religion with modern education, culminating in the establishment of the Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College (M.O.A.C.), later known as Aligarh Muslim University. At the time, this institution became one of the largest centers of Islamic learning in Asia.

Abstract

New media, especially Instagram, has emerged as a new chapter in the discourse of utilizing political marketing of an actor, such as the @prabowo.gibran2 account. This research aims to discover Prabowo's political branding on Instagram and its relevance to George Herber Mead's symbolic interactionism theory. This research uses an interpretive social paradigm, and the research methodology uses virtual ethnography by accessing, researching, and analyzing media spaces, media documents, media objects, and user experiences. The research results show that Prabowo's political branding includes a free lunch and milk program as a policy, joget gemoy as a candidate person, and a new direction of downstream politics as a party, providing ideology, structure, and vision-mission. As for George Herber Mead's view of self, joget gemoy is a reflex action of the organism and a realization and presentation of self in social situations. Second, related to the view of mind, the encounter between thoughts and symbols related to two fingers in the form of a Korean hand heart and the definition of the situation: Gibran's appointment as vice president is a foresighted choice of segmentation and downstream. Third, related to the view of society, two discoveries about the proof of universal democracy, namely, the white shirt as a sign of Jokowi-Prabowo reconciliation and the reconciliation of political figures.

Abstract

The study focused on examining the instructional methods employed by English teachers in inclusive classrooms, as well as the typical difficulties encountered by these teachers in teaching in such settings. The researchers employed qualitative research methodology utilizing the case study approach, employing two primary instruments, namely interviews and observations. The research involved a school coordinator responsible for inclusive education, an English teacher who taught in inclusive classrooms, and children with special needs. The data were gathered over two weeks through two interviews and two outdoor observations. The data acquired were recorded using several methods, including tape recording, field notes, photos, and videos. The data were subjected to qualitative analysis to address the research topics. The study's findings are classified into three primary categories. The school provides programs that promote the implementation of inclusive education, including self-development programs and additional courses that help the development of basic life skills for students with special educational needs (SEN). There are 10 classes designated to accommodate at least one student with special needs in each session. Furthermore, in instructing English in inclusive classrooms, the teachers demonstrated a deficiency in employing targeted methodologies. However, they did utilize game-based technology such as Kahoot to facilitate engaging and pleasurable learning experiences. Furthermore, the outcome also indicates that the qualities of patience and sincerity hold significant importance in instructing students with special educational needs (SEN).

Abstract

The rapid growth of Islamic banking and financial institutions, both globally and in Indonesia, reflects the increasing relevance of Shariah-compliant economic systems. Institutions such as Islamic insurance, sukuk, pawnshops, mortgages, leasing, capital markets, mutual funds, and multi-level marketing have significantly evolved, driven by advancements in modern technology. These changes have transformed economic activities, including e-commerce transactions, digital payment systems, credit financing, international trade, and monetary control instruments. This paper critically examines the strategic role of Maqashid Shariah and Maslahah in shaping contemporary Islamic economics and business practices. By integrating classical Islamic jurisprudence with modern economic challenges, the study explores how Maqashid Shariah serves as a foundational framework for ethical and sustainable economic development. Furthermore, the analysis highlights the dynamic application of Maslahah in ensuring Shariah compliance while addressing the evolving needs of the global financial landscape. The findings underscore the potential of Islamic economic principles to promote inclusive growth, social justice, and long-term societal welfare

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the kinesthetic learning style on the learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) among Year 4 students at MIN Bangkalan. This research employs a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique involving 36 participants. The research data were obtained through a kinesthetic learning style questionnaire, observations, and a learning outcomes test on the topic of Friday prayer. Data analysis techniques included the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, Pearson correlation analysis to examine the relationship between kinesthetic learning style and PAI learning outcomes, and simple regression analysis to assess the impact of kinesthetic learning style on students' academic performance. The findings indicate a significant influence of kinesthetic learning style on PAI learning outcomes, with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000. Students with a kinesthetic learning style exhibit characteristics such as enhanced recall through movement and hands-on practice, as well as a preference for physical activity. These findings suggest that the application of kinesthetic learning strategies can serve as an effective approach to improving PAI learning outcomes among primary school students, particularly in subjects requiring practical comprehension.
