Abstract

This conceptual study aims to investigate the synergistic roles of zakat and taxation as fiscal instruments to promote equitable income distribution and foster economic growth within the framework of Islamic economics. Grounded in descriptive qualitative analysis and literature review, the research outlines how zakat and tax policies can be integrated to form a more just and sustainable fiscal structure. While taxes are recognized as essential for state financing and macroeconomic stabilization, zakat—though traditionally religious in nature—emerges as a viable counter-cyclical tool to support poverty alleviation, enhance purchasing power, and drive inclusive development. The study highlights the distinct yet complementary characteristics of zakat and taxes, emphasizing their potential to correct wealth disparities and stimulate productive investment through multiplier effects. By embedding Islamic moral values such as moderation, social justice, and prohibition of usury, this research offers an alternative paradigm for fiscal governance. The study contributes to global economic scholarship by presenting a faith-based fiscal model that may inform public finance policies in Muslim-majority countries and beyond. Future research is recommended to develop empirical models that quantify the macroeconomic impacts of zakat-tax integration and explore its application in diverse economic contexts.

Abstract

Land in Tawangsari District, Sukoharjo Regency had a limiting factor in the form of water availability. One of the local commodities cultivated for generations on dry land in this region is gembili (Dioscorea sp.). However, the gembili cultivation process has not produced optimal productivity and is threatened with extinction. Therefore, gembili cultivation and use of dry land need to be optimized by carrying out integrated land management. The aim of utilizing dry land is to increase local food production and sustainability as alternative food and maintain national food security. This research was conducted using data on productivity, quantity and type of fertilizer obtained through interviews with gembili farmers and secondary data on soil types obtained from BPP Tawangsari District, Sukoharjo Regency. The results showed that grumusol and lithosol soil types had no significant effect (p > 0.05) on gembili productivity. Providing organic + inorganic fertilizer with giving organic fertilizer without a combination produced values that were not significantly different (p > 0.05). However, the average productivity results were sequentially from grumusol and lithosol (6.1 ton.ha-1 and 7.1 ton.ha-1). Meanwhile, the use of organic fertilizer is 8.06% higher compared to organic fertilizer + inorganic fertilizer. The results of the multiple regression test for organic fertilizer had a significant effect (p < 0.05) on the productivity of Dioscorea sp..

Abstract

The waste production is expected to continue to increase every year in proportion to the increasing population of Manado City. The influential role of women when combined with waste problems ranging from preventing waste generation to processing it is considered capable of realizing the SDGs points mentioned above. The purpose of this study is to analyze the leadership style of female culinary entrepreneurs in Manado City, to analyze waste management regulations, especially culinary waste in Manado City, and to formulate a food waste management model through the leadership of female culinary entrepreneurs in Manado City . The results of the study show that the leadership style of women in some female entrepreneurs is responsible, always directing, thinking with a cool head, fair, always discussing problems faced by employees, wise, firm, trying to give employees motivation and examples (becoming a role model). Progress in waste management is in the form of decentralized waste management, in which waste management is separated for each sub-district, so there are 11 sub-districts. In its management, it still prioritizes the 3R principles (Reduce-Reuse-Recycle). Strategies that can be carried out to make residents participate in waste management are forced waste sorting programs, improving quality or increasing the number of 3R TPSTs with good management, simple composting programs at business locations or household locations and realizing socialization programs to culinary entrepreneurs that in order to be able to run a business, if it violates it, sanctions can be given or its business license revoked.

Abstract

The diffusion of innovation in the context of developing traditional societies has its challenges with the many obstacles in the social system. Previous studies have proven that each social component has a significant role in facilitating the process of innovation diffusion to underprivileged societies. However, they need to discuss how to optimize these components to overcome the barriers of social systems in traditional societies. Meanwhile, M. Yunus created an innovation in the form of microcredit and successfully diffused it to Muslim women who live in poverty in Bangladesh. This study investigates how Yunus optimizes the social system's components to successfully diffuse the program's innovation in the high traditional challenges. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a type of case study and analysis based on Rogers' theory of social system components. This study finds that social system barriers can be overcome by 1) optimizing the role of reforming agents in optional decisions through interpersonal relationships; 2) optimizing local communication channels that are homophilous with friendship networks among lower-class Muslim women.

Abstract

The decline in water quality due to the presence of chemical elements that exceed safe limits in the environment is caused by human activities. One of the main causes of pollution is the use of heavy metals such as chromium in various industries without adequate treatment, making it one of the most harmful pollutants. In addition, liquid waste containing surfactants from synthetic detergents can form foam bubbles that are difficult to remove and interfere with gas exchange between water and the atmosphere, thus exacerbating pollution. This study aims to assess the level of acute toxicity and analyze the classification of compound heavy metals Chromium (Cr) and Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonate (LAS) that can cause death in zebrafish (Danio rerio). The research process includes the stages of adjusting the test biota, Range Finding Test (RFT), and Acute Toxicity Test (ATT). The concentrations employing in the acute toxicity test (ATT) were P1 (0 ppm), P2 (6.4 ppm), P3 (9.0 ppm), P4 (12.5 ppm), P5 (17.6 ppm), and P6 (25.6 ppm). This research is an experimental study that employing probit analysis to calculate the LC50 value. The results of acute toxicity analysis showed that the LC50 value for compound heavy metals Chromium (Cr) and LAS was 11.46 ppm. Based on the chemical hazard classification and labeling by the US EPA in 2004, this LC50 value is included in category IV, which indicates that compound heavy metals Chromium (Cr) and LAS are classified as relatively harmless.
