Abstract

Background: Granting remission and parole to prisoners is the authority held by the Correctional Institution, in accordance with the provisions contained in Law Number 22 of 2022 concerning Corrections. The main requirement for obtaining remission and parole is the good behavior of the prisoner, and this provision applies to all prisoners without exception, including prisoners involved in criminal acts of corruption. Methods: This study uses the Normative Juridical method with a descriptive analysis approach. The research data was obtained through two sources, namely primary data from Legislation and secondary data obtained from interviews with Class IIA Tangerang Prison Officers. Findings: The results of the study show that the revocation of the Government Regulation has eliminated strict requirements related to granting remission to prisoners involved in corruption crimes, making it easy for corrupt prisoners to obtain it, it has eliminated the deterrent effect for perpetrators and the community. In response to this situation, total reform is needed, namely legal reform, law enforcement officers, and culture. Conclusion: The study concludes that the revocation of strict regulations has made it easier for corruption convicts to obtain remission, weakening the deterrent effect. Therefore, comprehensive reforms in law, enforcement, and legal culture are urgently needed. Novelty/Originality of this article: This article offers a critical and original analysis of the impact of regulatory changes on the remission process for corruption convicts in Indonesia. By combining normative legal review with firsthand insights from correctional officers, it highlights the unintended consequences of deregulation—specifically the erosion of deterrent effects—and emphasizes the urgent need for systemic legal reform, a perspective that has been underexplored in prior studies.

Abstract

This study analyzes the intervention of the PKPA Foundation in the prevention of child violence in Bale Village, Donggala Regency, using a descriptive qualitative method by collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants involved include the Village Head, the Chairman of the Foundation, Foundation Staff, and the child's parents, who have an important role in the problem being investigated. The results of the study show that violence against children, whether physical, emotional, verbal, or neglect, has a significant impact on children's psychological development, such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. This impact interferes with children's ability to manage emotions, form healthy interpersonal relationships, and increase the risk of social isolation. The PKPA Foundation implements prevention strategies that involve a community-based approach through education, community empowerment, and psychosocial support to victims. The Bale Village Government plays a role in strengthening local norms and building a community-based protection system. Based on these findings, it is suggested that further research measure the effectiveness of community-based approaches in preventing child violence in other areas with different social conditions. Researchers also need to explore the role and challenges of village governments in the implementation of child protection systems and analyze the long-term impact of violence on children, particularly in social and academic aspects after receiving interventions. Abstract

This study investigated the effect of Mathematics Games and learning motivation on the mathematics achievement of fifth-grade students at SDN 03 Koto Kaciak. Using a quantitative approach with a 2×2 factorial quasi-experimental design, students were assigned to experimental and control groups. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests and a learning motivation questionnaire. Two-way ANOVA was used for analysis. The results showed that the Mathematics Games method did not significantly affect learning outcomes (p > 0.05), although the experimental group demonstrated slightly higher mean scores than the control group. In contrast, learning motivation significantly influenced students’ mathematics achievement (p < 0.05), with high-motivation students outperforming their peers. No significant interaction was found between teaching method and motivation level. These findings suggest that while the Mathematics Games method did not produce statistically significant gains, learning motivation remains a key factor in academic success. The study’s contribution lies in its contextual application of Mathematics Games as an instructional strategy in a rural elementary school setting, highlighting the importance of implementation quality and learner characteristics. Further research with longer treatment duration and larger samples is recommended to assess long-term effects and refine the integration of educational games in elementary mathematics instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Follow-up of Audit Recommendations (TRLHP) on the Opinion on the Regency/City Regional Government Financial Statements (LKPD) in Central Sulawesi Province. Using a quantitative approach, the secondary data used came from the Central Sulawesi Provincial Representative Financial Audit Agency (BPK) regarding the follow-up of recommendations in the 2019-2023 period. Data analysis was carried out using the PLS SEM method through WarpPLS 8.0. The results of the study showed that the Follow-up of the Audit Recommendations had a positive and significant effect on the opinion of the Regional Government Financial Statements, with a path coefficient of β = 0.65 and a significance of P < 0.01. An R² value of 0.43 indicates that the Follow-up variable of the Audit Results Recommendation explains 43% of the variability of the Opinion. These findings indicate that the follow-up of recommendations has the potential to improve the quality of the opinion of the Financial Statements of Regency/City Regional Governments in Central Sulawesi Province. Although this variable explains 43% of the variation in opinion, there are still other factors that contribute. This study suggests a qualitative approach for further studies to explore the relationship between audit and compliance and the impact of the surveillance system on corruption prevention.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited understanding of prayer (shalat) procedures among early childhood students, which often results in difficulties in memorizing the correct sequence of movements and recitations, thereby affecting the overall quality of worship at both school and home. The primary objective is to analyze the effectiveness of audio-visual media in improving children’s cognitive and psychomotor competencies related to prayer. Employing a qualitative approach within the framework of Classroom Action Research (CAR), the study was conducted in two cycles involving 20 children from group B-B at RA Al-Jauharen, Kota Jambi, during the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed descriptively to identify changes in students’ learning behavior and performance. The results demonstrate that the use of audio-visual media significantly enhanced students’ engagement, facilitated comprehension of prayer sequences and recitations, and improved accuracy and fluency in practice sessions. Additionally, children exhibited higher levels of confidence and active participation during instructional activities. These findings highlight the pedagogical potential of integrating audio-visual media as an innovative and effective strategy in early childhood Islamic education, particularly for teaching prayer in a more interactive and memorable manner.
