Abstract

Beggars or individuals who seek to earn money without making an effort to work are often seen as symbols of social issues, which are called social pathologies.  Because this clearly violates the norms of goodness and harms many people, one of the factors is poverty that has not been overcome. This research aims to find out the hadith law about begging, its contents, and its implications for begging mental coping. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research, and uses two types of data, namely primary and secondary. The primary data source is obtained from interviews while secondary data sources are obtained from literature studies, literature, books, or journal analysis studies that are relevant to the topic discussed. The results of this study show that in Islamic sharia begging is a highly prohibited act. Especially if it is done by deceiving others and pretending to be weak, but people are allowed to beg under certain circumstances. The implementation of the prohibition of asking in the Holy Tower needs to be seen from two sides, namely the person who asks and the person who gives, while still paying attention to the manners and rules in the Kudus Regional Regulation. In this research article, it is hoped that it can provide a deep understanding to beggars about the prohibition of begging, as well as its implementation on mental overcoming of begging.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the integration of Sharia principles into national commercial law system by comparing the classical fiqh literature with Indonesian Civil Code. The urgency of this study reflected existing ambiguities in the regulation of Sharia-based contracts in national legal system, which led to legal uncertainty in commercial practices and trade agreements affecting Muslim community. The formulated problems included (1) how could Sharia principles be integrated into national commercial law? and (2) to what extent could Indonesian positive law accommodate these principles? A normative legal study was conducted using a comparative method between Islamic and national civil law, along with qualitative analysis of relevant regulations and fatwas. The results showed that there were both similarities and differences between the two legal systems, specifically concerning the principles of mutual consent and object clarity. However, Islamic law tended to be stricter in upholding the lawfulness (halal) of the contract object and in prohibiting riba (usury) and gharar (uncertainty). Based on the results, this study recommended the reconstruction of national commercial law by integrating Sharia-based contracts, harmonizing legal norms through Supreme Court, and strengthening legal education to produce practitioners competent in both legal systems. In conclusion, the integration of Sharia principles into national commercial law enriched Indonesian legal system and fostered justice that was consistent with Islamic values.

Abstract

This study analyzes the judicial regulation of polygamy in the Libyan family law using socio-legal and maqasid al-shariʿah framework. Focusing on Law No. 10 of 1984 on Marriage and Divorce and its amendments (1991, 1994, and the 2015 deletion of Article 13), the study traces how polygamy shifted from jurisprudential (fiqhi) permissibility to judicial restriction subject to authorization, contestation, and potential refusal. Using qualitative doctrinal analysis supported by socio-legal contextualization, the research examines how the authorization mechanisms have transformed polygamy from a private spousal privilege to a legally conditioned practice subject to state supervision and refusal. The findings show an institutional shift in the role of Libyan courts from verifying formal requirements to evaluating financial capacity, potential harm, and family welfare, especially after the 1994 “serious reasons” standard. The article argues that these restrictions are better understood as a maqasid-oriented understanding of justice and harm prevention rather than as a departure from Shariʿah. By linking statutory law, judicial discretion power, and socio-political context, the study contributes to the continuous debates on Islamic family law reform, the role of courts in Muslim-majority countries, and the normative foundations for regulating marital practices.

Abstract

The quality of education is a key measure of an educational institution's ability to produce high-achieving students. Such institutions must provide effective learning services and ensure education costs remain affordable and aligned with students' needs. This research adopts a quantitative approach, using statistical analysis to process data gathered through questionnaires. The results highlight that service quality (X1) and education costs (X2) have a significant and positive impact on education quality (Y), both independently and collectively. Specifically, the t-test reveals that the t-value for service quality (6.783) exceeds the t-table value (1.992), indicating a significant effect on education quality. Conversely, the t-value for education costs (1.808) falls below the threshold, suggesting no substantial impact. These findings emphasize that service quality is a critical driver of educational quality, while education costs have a less direct effect. The study advocates for prioritizing improvements in service quality, such as better teaching methods and resource availability, while efficiently managing education costs. These strategies are essential to enhancing the overall quality of education and ensuring better outcomes for students. This research provides actionable insights for educational policymakers and institutions aiming for sustainable improvement.

Abstract

This study investigates students’ experiences and attitudes towards the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in literary translation at the Faculty of Languages and Translation, University of Zawia, Libya. Sixty undergraduate students from English departments participated in a classroom-based experiment in which they translated literary texts using ChatGPT. Following the translation tasks, students completed a structured questionnaire designed to assess the usability, accuracy, and pedagogical value of AI-assisted translation. Descriptive analysis of the data revealed that while students found AI-tools effective for increasing translation speed and acquiring new vocabulary, they also expressed reservations about the tools’ limitations in handling literary devices such as tone, metaphor, and cultural context. A majority of students are in favor of continued use of AI-tools under instructor guidance, recognizing their value as supplementary learning aids rather than replacements for human translators. The study highlights the need for critical integration of AI into translation pedagogy and encourages further research on balancing automation with interpretive and creative human input.

Abstract

This study, which examines the continued dominance of transmissive and authority-centred teaching methods in madrasa education, falls under the umbrella of Islamic education reform and critical pedagogy. Many madrasas still use teaching methods that restrict students' critical involvement, dialogical interaction, and sociopolitical awareness despite continuous modernisation initiatives. By offering a revolutionary paradigm grounded in dialogical learning and critical consciousness, this article seeks to reconstruct madrasa education through the prism of Paulo Freire's critical pedagogy. This topic was chosen in response to current discussions on decolonising Islamic education and increasing its applicability in pluralistic settings. This study integrates Freirean theory with key Islamic educational ideas such as tarbiyah, shura (consultation), and moral agency through a qualitative conceptual analysis supported by a critical literature survey. According to the working hypothesis, emancipatory learning can be promoted within madrasa systems while maintaining an Islamic epistemological foundation through critical pedagogical approaches. The results show that a dialogical and participative instructional approach strengthens students' ability for reflection, ethical reasoning, and social responsibility. By providing a theoretically based reform paradigm that connects Islamic educational philosophy and Western critical pedagogy, the study advances the field. In summary, using a Freirean method to rebuild madrasa education is not only a pedagogical novelty; rather, it is a calculated move toward developing Muslim students who are socially and intellectually engaged
