Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine the development of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) studies during the period 2013–2025 and identify inconsistencies in empirical findings, methodological fragmentation, and future research opportunities in the context of modern governance. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach and thematic analysis, the study examined dozens of reputable articles from various international databases, including Scopus, ScienceDirect, Emerald Insight, Taylor & Francis, and Google Scholar. Literature selection was carried out through the PRISMA procedure, followed by the process of open coding, thematic synthesis, and mapping of the evolution trends of GRC research. The results show that the GRC literature is still fragmented and has not produced consistent conclusions about the influence of GRC on company performance and value. Empirical evidence shows that the results vary due to differences in GRC measurement instruments, unequal industry contexts, and inequality in the maturity level of GRC implementation across different organizations. Another important finding suggests that the integration of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) is still very limited, although these themes are increasingly relevant in modern corporate governance. This research contributes to formulating seven main research gaps and offers a future research agenda, including the development of the GRC Maturity Index, the Digital GRC Capability Model, conceptual integration of GRC–ESG, as well as the need for qualitative and mixed-methods approaches to understand the dynamics of GRC implementation in a more contextual and in-depth manner. These findings make an important theoretical contribution to strengthening the conceptual foundations of GRC as well as practical contributions for organizations looking to improve governance capabilities in the digital and sustainability-oriented era.
MENTAL HEALTH IN THE QUR’ANIC PERSPECTIVE: A PSYCHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF QS. AR-RA‘D [13]: 28 AND QS. AL-BAQARAH [2]: 286: Kesehatan Mental dalam Perspektif Al-Qur’an: Analisis Psikologis atas QS. ar-Ra‘d [13]: 28 dan QS. al-Baqarah [2]: 286 Ridwan; Nahyulia Liza Utari

Abstract

This article examines the concept of mental health from a Qur’anic perspective through a psychological analysis of QS. ar-Ra‘d [13]: 28 and QS. al-Baqarah [2]: 286. The study is motivated by the growing prevalence of mental health issues in modern society, which calls for multidimensional approaches, including the integration of psychology and religious studies. Employing a qualitative–descriptive approach, this research uses thematic analysis and Qur’anic exegesis of relevant verses, which are then contextualized within contemporary psychological theories. The findings indicate that the concept of ?uma’n?nah al-qalb in QS. ar-Ra‘d [13]: 28 represents a state of stable emotional regulation achieved through the practice of dhikr as an emotion-focused coping mechanism, while QS. al-Baqarah [2]: 286 emphasizes the principle of proportional life burdens that functions as a cognitive foundation for self-efficacy, resilience, and psychological hope. These findings suggest that the Qur’an provides both normative and psychological frameworks that are relevant for understanding and strengthening human mental health. This article contributes to the development of interdisciplinary studies between Qur’anic exegesis and psychology and offers a contextual and applicable Qur’an-based conceptual model of mental health.

Abstract

This study analyzes the politics of identity and colonial legacy in the novel Pulang by Leila S. Chudori using a postcolonial theory approach, particularly the concepts of Homi K. Bhabha. The novel depicts the experiences of political exiles after the events of 1965, who are forced to live in exile and face identity crises. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this study explores how colonialism and political repression shape the characters' social reality and how their identities are dynamic and negotiated in hybrid and ambivalent spaces. The results show that the novel “Pulang” reflects the impact of colonial legacies, which not only influence state policies and social structures but also shape the identities of individuals in liminal positions. Bhabha’s concepts of hybridity, ambivalence, and mimicry reveal the characters' struggles to shape their identities in the transnational realm. In this context, literature serves as a medium to create alternative narratives, challenge state hegemony, and reinterpret the meaning of Indonesian nationalism through a postcolonial framework

Abstract

Water quality monitoring is a critical component in ensuring environmental sustainability and public health. The degree of acidity (pH) is one of the key parameters used to assess water quality, as it directly affects the suitability of water for domestic and industrial applications. Conventional water pH measurement systems are typically local and rely on manual data recording, resulting in limited data accessibility, susceptibility to human error, and the absence of structured historical records. This study presents the design of an Internet of Things (IoT) platform as a two-way communication system between water pH sensing hardware and a cloud-based digital platform. The proposed system consists of a pH sensor, a network-enabled microcontroller, a cloud platform for centralized data management, and a web-based dashboard as the user interface. Two-way communication enables the system not only to transmit real-time measurement data but also to receive configuration commands from users. Experimental results indicate that the proposed IoT platform improves the efficiency of water pH monitoring, reduces reliance on manual data recording, and provides structured historical data to support long-term analysis.

Abstract

Literary translation involves the transfer of linguistic meaning, as well as the cultural values and identities inherent in the source text. Translation difficulties increase in the realm of indirect translation, particularly when the target text is rendered through an intermediary language. This phenomenon is observed in the translation of Andrea Hirata's novel Laskar Pelangi into Arabic, ‘Asākir Qaws Quzaḥ, utilizing the English version, The Rainbow Troops. This translation process exemplifies multi-level translation, which may result in cultural dilution. This study aims to identify and analyse the manifestations of cultural dilution in indirect translation. This research employs a qualitative descriptive methodology within the framework of a descriptive translation study. The data sources comprise three parallel texts: Laskar Pelangi as the source text, The Rainbow Troops as the intermediary text, and ‘Asākir Qaws Quzaḥ as the target text. Data were gathered via document analysis by identifying cultural terms in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences, and subsequently classified according to Newmark's cultural categories. The analysis was performed comparatively to identify changes in cultural significance. This study's results reveal that cultural dilution occurs in three primary forms: cultural deletion, cultural substitution, and cultural neutralization. The three forms illustrate the systematic and cumulative erosion of Indonesian cultural distinctiveness resulting from indirect translation. This research contributes to indirect translation studies by offering an analytical framework for cultural dilution and emphasising the significance of ideological awareness in cross-cultural literary translation practices.

Abstract

This study conducts a thematic exegesis (tafsir maudhū‘ī) of Qur’anic verses related to investment, focusing on four key verses. Surah Al‑Baqarah (2): 261, An‑Nisā’ (4): 9, Luqmān (31): 34, and Al‑Hashr (59): 18. A library-based methodology is employed, integrating thematic interpretation, linguistic analysis, the contexts of revelation (asbāb al‑nuzūl), and inter-verse correlations (munāsabah). Findings reveal that Islamic investment is not solely about wealth accumulation; it emphasises ethical commitment, justice, and social welfare. This Qur’anic framework offers a foundation for Islamic economic models that harmonise financial efficiency with public welfare and balance worldly gains with accountability before the Hereafter. The study’s insights contribute to the development of Sharia-compliant economic policies and investment practices that promote prosperity and social justice.

Abstract

Accountability is a principle that ensures that government administration is accountable for a series of designed programs. This study aims to examine the influence of success factors in village government accountability in managing village funds, namely, village apparatus competence, community participation, utilization of information technology, organizational commitment, and internal government control systems. The type of research used is quantitative, using component-based or variant-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) techniques with Partial Least Square (PLS) as a tool for conducting validity tests. Sampling using the method purposive sampling, thus obtaining 87 respondents with the criteria of village governments directly involved in administering village funds in Binuang District, Polewali Mandar Regency. The results of this study indicate that not all variables can influence accountability in village fund management in Binuang District. For example, village apparatus competence, community participation, information technology utilization, and internal government control systems have a positive effect on accountability in village fund management. However, organizational commitment does not affect accountability in village fund management. Therefore, accountability in village fund management has not been fully able to realize the achievement of good governance in Binuang District, Polewali Mandar Regency

Abstract

The accurate targeting of social assistance recipients is a critical challenge in public policy implementation, particularly in efforts to reduce poverty and social inequality. This study aims to apply the Decision Tree C4.5 algorithm to determine the eligibility of social assistance beneficiaries based on socio-economic data. The research employs a quantitative approach using data mining techniques, where data preprocessing, model construction, and performance evaluation are conducted systematically. The C4.5 algorithm is selected due to its ability to handle numerical and categorical data and to produce interpretable decision rules. The results indicate that the proposed model achieves a high classification performance, with income level emerging as the most influential attribute, followed by household dependents and housing conditions. The generated decision tree provides clear and transparent rules that facilitate understanding of eligibility determination. These findings demonstrate that the C4.5 algorithm is effective not only in terms of accuracy but also in supporting explainable decision-making processes. The study concludes that integrating Decision Tree C4.5 into social assistance management can enhance objectivity, transparency, and policy effectiveness. This research contributes to the development of data-driven decision support systems in the public sector and offers practical insights for improving the accuracy of social assistance distribution.

Abstract

This study is intended to evaluate the impact of product differentiation and customer relations on the increase in organic fertilizer sales volume in the Sidoarjo Regency area. A quantitative approach was applied through a survey involving 120 participants, namely farmers and organic fertilizer traders in the area. Sample selection was carried out by stratified random sampling technique. Information collection was carried out through a questionnaire, then processed using multiple linear regression analysis with the support of SPSS software version 25. The findings of the study revealed that product differentiation had a significant positive effect on the increase in organic fertilizer sales, with a coefficient of 0.458 (p<0.05). Similarly, customer relationships showed a significant positive impact on the increase in sales, with a coefficient of 0.412 (p<0.05). Simultaneously, product differentiation and customer relationships contributed significantly to the increase in organic fertilizer sales, with a percentage of 71.6% (R² = 0.716), while the remaining 28.4% were influenced by external variables that had not yet been explored. This study suggests that organic fertilizer makers in Sidoarjo Regency continue to innovate in product differentiation and strengthen long-term ties with consumers to encourage higher sales.
