Abstract

Waste is our common problem because it is generated every day and throughout the year.  People’s behavior in throwing rubbish in any place and not caring about the environment can house an unpleasant atmosphere, especially the type of organic waste that causes an unpleasant odor. The aim is to find out the behavior of managing organic waste as feed in cultivating Black Soldier Flies (BSF) in RT 32 Bengkuring. The Qualitative research method with an action research (AR) approach. The research results show that the first stage, here is no organic waste management by residents in RT 32. Second stage, he implementation of socialization and training on BSF/maggot fly cultivation was welcomed by community shops, the government, and local residents. Third phase, most of the mothers were amused or disgusted to see maggots during training because they are shaped like caterpillars, so it is difficult to feed them organic waste. Besides that, it is difficult to get permission from the owners of houses or residential land that has not been used for a long time because their whereabouts are unknown to the owner. In conclusion, the knowledge of residents, community shops, and the local government increased after socialization and practice on how to manage organic waste through cultivating BSF flies. Behavior is low because not all residents dare to see, let alone touch and feed maggots.

Abstract

An agency cannot be separated from the role of human resources (HR) working in it. The quality of HR is one of the important factors that influences the increase in productivity and effectiveness of agency performance. However, in practice, the employee performance assessment process is often still carried out manually or based on subjective considerations, so that it has the potential to cause injustice in decision making. To overcome this problem, this study designed a decision support system (DSS) based on the [mention method, for example: Weighted Product, AHP, MOORA, or others] method to evaluate employee performance objectively and measurably. This method was chosen because it is able to compare a number of alternatives based on several predetermined criteria, such as discipline, responsibility, initiative, and cooperation. This system was designed using [mention tools or platforms if any, for example: Microsoft Excel, PHP, MySQL, etc.] and tested using employee data from related agencies. The test results show that the developed system can help decision makers in evaluating employee performance more quickly, objectively, and efficiently. With this system, it is hoped that the performance assessment process will be more transparent and accountable and can increase employee work motivation.

Abstract

One of the effects of the existence of Covid-19 was that face-to-face schooling could not be conducted continuously, and so another possible way of learning had to be arranged. The difference between online and face-to-face learning has invited some perceptions and obstacles to the implementation. Thus, this study aimed to describe the parents perception on the benefits and challenges towards the distance learning during the pandemic at school in Aceh, Indonesia. Thisstudy took a case in one junior high school in Banda Aceh, Aceh, Indonesia. There were 25 parents taken purposively as the sample. The study used questionnaire and interview to collect the data. The questionnaire and interview guide consisted of 10 questions posted on Google Form. The results found that the implementation of distance learning has led to the benefits and challenges. A number of challenges faced by parents when assisting their children with distance learning included lack of access to technology. Furthermore, parents had lack of knowledge or skills to assist their children with their homework, especially if the subject matter was unfamiliar. The last challenge was time constraints among the parents, making it difficult to find the time to support their children's distance learning. On the other hand, the Covid-19 pandemic has also brought significant gains toward education. The benefits were to minimize the children to be infected by the Covid-19, to engage relationship between the kids and parents, and to encourage parents to use their creativity and digital literacy in implementing the learning material.

Abstract

This study investigated the use of dicto-comp in minimizing errors in students writing. The study concerned the type of errors frequently made by the students after the implementation of dicto-comp and the effectiveness of dicto-comp in reducing the students errors in writing. The study used the quantitative approach using the quasi-experimental research design. The instrument of the study was writing tests. The study took place at a senior high school in Banda Aceh, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Findings showed that after the implementation of dicto-comp, the students frequently made grammatical errors at 46.42% and mechanical errors at 40.66%. Further, the t-test results showed that t-test = 2.12 and t-table = 1.70. This indicated that t-test score was higher than t-table, and thus, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that dicto-comp decreased the errors in the students writing. It is suggested that teachers of English apply dicto-comp technique and/or combine it with another method/ strategy in teaching writing in classroom

Abstract

Teaching, one of which is the problem solving learning mein Social studies learning in elementary schools places more emphasis on social sciences in studying social phenomena and problems that occur in society. Problems that occur today are that there are still many arguments that social studies learning is rote learning. However, in reality from social studies learning there are phenomena that can be explored by students, so that students can find real problems in the environment to use as learning and can improve students' ability to think critically in responding to these problems. Optimal development of critical thinking skills requires interactive classes. In order for learning to be interactive, the learning design must be attractive so that students can be actively involved in the learning process. Learning that develops critical thinking skills involves students as thinkers, not as someone being taught. The teacher acts as a mediator, facilitator and motivator who helps students in learning and not tthod where through the Problem Solving method it is hoped that it can facilitate understanding of the subject matter provided and later can improve the quality of the learning process which can then improve students' critical thinking in social studies learning. This research aims to analyze the application of the problem solving method to improve critical thinking abilities in elementary school students' social studies learning. The method used in this research is the literature study method. The results of the research show that the application of the Problem Solving learning method emphasizes students' ability to solve a problem. In this way, students' critical thinking skills will continue to be trained.

Abstract

Skin disease is a condition that affects the body's surface and has a number of causes. The most prevalent infectious illnesses that afflict people of all ages are skin conditions. The majority of skin infection treatments take a while to start working. The goal of this study was to ascertain how scavengers at the Medan City Waste Landfill's personal hygiene habits and contact dermatitis symptoms related to one another. Approach: This study uses a cross-sectional analytic survey design as its methodology. The population of this study consisted of 72 respondents who served as research samples. They were all scavengers in Environment VII of the Waterfall Village. The chi-square statistical test was utilized in the univariate and bivariate analyses. The Findings: Scavengers' symptoms of contact dermatitis were related to age (p = 0.019), education (p = 0.021), length of labor (p = 0.007), and personal hygiene (p = 0.000). The study's findings suggest that scavengers in the Medan City Waste Landfill may have contact dermatitis symptoms in relation to their age, education, length of employment, and personal hygiene. It is planned that TPA Falls would offer health education about skin conditions, including dermatitis, so that scavengers may avoid contracting these illnesses by practicing good personal hygiene after work, including as cleaning their hands, feet, and taking a shower.

In the pharmaceutical study, it was found that 100% of the prescriptions wrote down the dosage form, dosage strength, and instructions for using the medicine. With the majority of antihypertensive meds prescribed in tablet dosage forms. In terms of clinical requirements, it was found that the prescriptions were not duplicated and there were 95,38% of prescriptions that had conection between antihypertensive as medicine recipe and other meds supplies. The results of this study show a discrepancy between the review profile of antihypertensive as medicine recipe at the Lapatarai general hospital by standard regulations in Indonesia.
