Abstract

Phonological awareness has been claimed as one of the significant factors in learning to read. This paper reported our research on students' phonological awareness in EFL classrooms. We wanted to examine whether the phonological awareness tasks correlate with reading accuracy. Firstly, we analyzed their phonological awareness in the tasks of identification, substitution, addition, and deletion in English phonemes and syllables. Then, we discussed the relationship between phonological awareness and reading skills. We observed the students (N=143) of the even semesters (II, IV, VI, and VIII) at the English Education Department (Academic Year 2021/2022), Universitas Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. From the complete task of knowing students' phonological awareness that has been carried out, there was an increase in the average score from Semester II to Semester VIII students. The highest mean score was found in the student's test scores of Semester VIII (91.2; SD 6.3) and the lowest for Semester II students (62.5; SD 11.4). To test whether the phonological awareness tasks correlated with reading accuracy, the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient (r) was calculated, and the results showed that the reading accuracy had a positive correlation either for the phoneme (r = 0.472) and syllable (r = 0.534) tasks and the correlation was significant (p < .01).

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought significant changes to family life, including the role of parents in accompanying their children in the digital era. This study examines the role of parents in supporting children's digital literacy during the pandemic, while also identifying challenges in minimizing the risks of exposure to harmful online content. Using a quantitative approach, the study involved 25,164 children and 14,169 parents across Indonesia. The findings show a drastic increase in children's gadget use, with the majority of time spent on online entertainment. However, parental supervision remains limited, both in terms of quantity and quality. Only 59.1% of fathers and 68% of mothers consistently provide digital literacy education. This lack of supervision exposes children to risks such as cyberbullying, exposure to harmful content, and technology addiction. The study highlights the importance of collaboration between parents and educational institutions in strengthening safe and beneficial digital literacy practices for children in the digital era. Abstract

The digital era has presented complex challenges for adolescents in the form of psychosocial crises that require serious attention from the education sector. This study aims to analyze the strategic role of Islamic Religious Education teachers as guiding agents for adolescents in facing digital psychosocial crises. The research method uses a qualitative approach with library studies focusing on relevant literature analysis. The results show that adolescents experience various forms of digital psychosocial crises such as digital addiction, cyberbullying, identity crisis, and FOMO which impact mental health, academic performance, and spiritual values. Islamic Religious Education teachers have multidimensional roles as educators, counselors, mentors, and spiritual guides who can provide holistic guidance. Effective guidance strategies include digital-based learning approaches with integration of Islamic values, personal Islamic counseling, and comprehensive programs involving Islamic values-based digital literacy. Program implementation requires synergistic collaboration between schools, families, and communities with systematic stages and continuous evaluation. Program success can be measured through improved adolescent mental health, strengthened spiritual values, and enhanced Islamic values-based digital literacy. This research contributes to developing adolescent guidance models in the digital era that integrate Islamic values with modern technological challenges

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, students' dependence on gadgets and social media is stronger through online-based learning. The attachment of school-age children to gadgets and social media is prone to intersect with intolerant religious content and narratives. It is a challenge to implement moderate Islamic education in education units. This study explored the problem of school-age children's attachment to devices and analyzes the challenges of implementing moderate Islamic education in education units during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is library research with a descriptive method. The data in this study were obtained from relevant documents regarding the research. At the same time, the primary data was a document resulting from the KPAI survey with a total sample of 14,169 respondents spread across 34 provinces in Indonesia. In contrast, secondary data were studies that were relevant to this research. This study indicated that the attachment of school-age children to gadgets and social media can be directed at strengthening moderate Islamic values through several educational contents. With intensive supervision and assistance from parents on gadgets and social media, school-age children can be controlled from content that leads to narratives of intolerance, extremism, and radicalism.

Abstract

Air merupakan lingkungan hidup dan untuk perkembangan makhluk hidup. Pada saat ini, banyak sekali masyarakat menggunakan air untuk usaha dan bisnis seperti usaha air isi ulang, budidaya ikan baik itu sebagai konsumsi atau sebagai ikan hias, dan sebagainya. Banyak sekali yang harus diperhatikan dari segi perubahan suhu, keseimbangan pH air, dan kebersihan terutama untuk usaha budidaya dan pemeliharaan ikan, agar ikan tersebut bisa bertahan hidup dan berkembang dengan baik. Dengan permasalahan tersebut, maka dirancanglah suatu alat pengontrolan pH air pada tingkat kejernihan air tawar. Pengontrol pH air ini akan secara otomatis menyeimbangkan pH yang tidak sesuai pada air sehingga dapat secara cepat melakukan perubahan dengan dikendalikan oleh NodeMCU. Sensor pH yang digunakan sebagai pengukuran kadar keasaman atau kebasaan suatu larutan untuk keperluan pengukuran dan pengendalian sistem. Tujuan dari pembuatan alat ini adalah diharapkan dapat membantu dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dengan mempermudah usaha masyarakat yang berhubungan dengan air jernih, sehingga yang dilakukan oleh pengguna dalam hal menjaga tingkat kejernihan air tawar menjadi lebih praktis, ekonomis, dan efisien. Dengan adanya alat ini dapat mengurangi kekhawatiran pH air dan suhu air yang tidak stabil hingga 57% terutama pada pengusaha dan pembudidaya ikan.

Abstract

As part of the community environment, the school faces challenges in managing the growing amount of plastic waste. Through a project of making paving blocks from plastic waste, this study aims to help students learn geometry by integrating the concept of surface area of 3D shapes into real-life practice. Students took part in the project by designing and creating hexagonal prism-shaped paving blocks to cover the archery extracurricular area, which often gets muddy during rainy days. This study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach. Interviews with students and teachers, project process documentation, and observation of learning activities were all methods used to collect data. The results show that the Design Thinking approach supported students in understanding surface area in a more practical way, especially in calculating the dimensions and quantity of paving blocks needed. The project also encouraged students to be more aware of environmental issues.

Abstract

This research examines the efforts of the Al-Austh Islamic Boarding School SMA N 1 Tegalombo Pacitan in developing the character of its students through the Al-Ta'lim Al-Muta'allim Fi Thariqi Al-Ta'allum book study program. The first aim of this research is to find out the reasons behind the establishment of the Al-Ausath Islamic Boarding School program at SMA N 1 Tegalombo Pacitan. The second is to find out how the Al-Ta'lim Al-Muta'allim Fi Thariqi Al-Ta'allum Al-Ausath Islamic Boarding School study program contributes to the development of student character at SMA N 1 Tegalombo Pacitan.  This research uses a qualitative approach, case study type. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. The main data sources in this research are the Principal, Teachers and Ustad of SMA N 1 Tegalombo Pacitan, and data analysis is carried out through condensation, presentation and drawing conclusions (verification). The results of the research show that the first background to the boarding school program at SMA N 1 Tegalombo is the importance of character education as outlined in the National Education Ministerial Regulation, which must be implemented by all educational institutions at all levels of education. Secondly, the Al-Ausath Islamic Boarding School applies the six values of the National Education Ministerial Regulation: leadership, responsibility, religion, honesty, hard work and integrity.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses implementasi pemenuhan program tahfidz Qur’an dan standardisasi serta hambatan dalam upaya pemenuhan program tahfidz dan standardisasi di Institut PTIQ Jakarta. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Objek penelitian adalah kegiatan pembinaan Qur’ani. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data kemudian direduksi, dianalisis kemudian disimpulkan, Dalam proses pelaksanaan model-model tahfidz al-Qur’an di Ma’had dan di kampus Institut PTIQ Jakarta, baik ketua Lembaga Tahsin,Tahfidz al-Qur’an,ketua ma’ahad PTIQ besrta para musyrif,mudabbir dan para semua para dosen tahfidz al-Qur’an beserta seluruh stakeholder yang telah berupaya membina dan memotivasi seluruh mahasiswa untuk mencapai target hafalan al-Qur’an yang telah ditentukan oleh semua fakultas baik tahfidz terbatas maupun tahfidz penuh Dalam menghafal dan menjaga hafalan Qur’an pada dasarnya mengulang-ulang bacaan dan mengulang-ulang hafalan yang sudah hafal itu bagian dasar dan pokok dalam menghafal dan menjaga hafalan al-Qur’an. Serta ketekunan, keistiqamahan dalam menghafal Qur’an dan menjaga hafalan Qur’an serta mengatur waktu dengan waktu kuliah memanfaatkan waktu luang dijam-jam istirahat kuliah untuk mengulang-ulang hafalan ataupun menghafal hafalan yang baru secarakonsistenkuncidasardalammenghafal al-Qur’an

Abstract

The current research is conduced to investigate the effect of circuit training on the level of physical fitness and accuracy of shooting of children at 10-12 years old. The research is quasi experimental using two-group pre-test post- test design. The population of the current research is 20 students of SDN Puro Pakualaman Yogyakarta. The data are collected by implementing TKJI test for children and shooting test to measure the accuracy of shooting. The data are taken prior to and after the circuit training with the intensity of 70% - 80%, the frequency of training is three times a week. The trainings are done during 12 -14 times with the duration of  25-30 minutes. The data are analyzed by using t-test. The findings reveal that (1) there is no significant different of the students’ physical fitness, (2) there is significant different of the students’ accuracy of shooting, (3) there is an increase of physical fitness and accuracy of shooting of the students who do circuit training. In conclusion, circuit training is effective in improving the accuracy in shooting for children at the age of 10-12 years old.

Abstract

Purpose: To develop and validate a financial literacy storybook for Junior High School students using the 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) method. Research Methodology: This study employs a development research approach, specifically utilizing the 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) method to create and validate a financial literacy storybook for Junior High School students. Results: High feasibility scores from both material (72 points) and media (77 points) experts validated the storybook's content accuracy, relevance, and overall design quality. These results suggest that the approach of using digital storytelling, specifically through Storyjumper, can effectively bridge the gap between abstract financial concepts and relatable age-appropriate narratives for adolescents. Conclusions: The validated storybook enhances students’ financial literacy by combining pedagogical accuracy with engaging design, and digital storytelling innovatively boosts understanding and interest in financial education. Limitations: First, the validation process relied primarily on expert opinions, which, although valuable, may not fully capture the perspectives of the target audience, Junior High School students. The study did not include a pilot test with actual students, which could provide insights into the storybook's real-world effectiveness and engagement levels. Additionally, the research is limited to a specific geographical and cultural context, potentially affecting the generalizability of the findings to other regions or educational systems. Contribution: This research contributes a validated financial literacy storybook for Junior High School students, advancing educational tools in this crucial field and demonstrating the 4D method's effectiveness in educational material development.
