Abstract

This study is motivated by the urgency of implementing multicultural education in pluralistic societies, particularly within the context of Islamic education. It aims to answer the research question: how is a model of multicultural education management based on Islamic values implemented at SMP IT Al-Mubarok, Tasikmalaya Regency? This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that multicultural education management at SMP IT Al-Mubarok is carried out through three main aspects: (1) planning based on the integration of Islamic and local cultural values; (2) teaching practices that foster tolerance and inclusivity; and (3) continuous evaluation of students' social behavior. This model has a positive impact on strengthening students' character and creating a harmonious school environment amid diversity. The study is relevant as a reference for developing Islamic education management strategies that are responsive to the challenges of multiculturalism in the global era.

Abstract

Islamic education plays a crucial role not only in shaping the holistic development of human beings but also as a driving force for social and cultural transformation. This study is motivated by global changes, moral crises, and modernization challenges that require Islamic education to adopt a relevant and contextual approach. The purpose of this research is to examine how the concepts of tarbiyah, ta’lim, and ta’dib can be integrated to form an Islamic educational model oriented toward socio-cultural transformation. The study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on the PRISMA framework, reviewing 158 scholarly articles and selecting 9 that meet the inclusion criteria. The findings reveal that the integration of these three concepts establishes a holistic Islamic education model that balances spiritual, intellectual, and social dimensions. Islamic education functions as a moral and cultural agent of change capable of responding to globalization and secularization. This research contributes conceptually to developing a modern Islamic education curriculum grounded in the values of tawhid, morality, and social ethics.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the objectives, programs, processes, supporting and inhibiting factors, evaluation, and impact of strengthening students' religious character through YouTube religious content, student Islamic boarding schools, and Al-Qur'an memorization at both institutions. The study uses a qualitative approach with a comparative case study method. Data collection via participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Inductive analysis through reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions for in-depth findings. The results of the study indicate that the process is through routine habits, reflection, and internalization of Islamic values ​​​​in campus activities. Supporting factors include leadership support, lecturer competence, student participation, and a conducive environment. Inhibiting factors include technological limitations, variations in student backgrounds, content supervision, globalization. The impact of strengthening students' religious character using social media, YouTube religious content, student Islamic boarding schools, and Al-Qur'an memorization is an increase in worship discipline, patience, empathy, and the practice of Islamic values ​​​​in academic-social life.

Abstract

Islamic education at the elementary school level faces various challenges arising from national and global issues, including globalization, digital transformation, declining national awareness, and social inequality. These challenges require educational institutions to transform their approaches in order to remain relevant and responsive to contemporary societal needs. This study aims to analyze the transformation of Islamic education in strengthening national values and social justice at Daar El Falah Integrated Islamic Elementary School (SDIT Daar El Falah) Cianjur. The research employs a qualitative case study approach through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the transformation of Islamic education is reflected in the integration of Islamic and national values within the curriculum, contextual learning practices, the development of an inclusive school culture, and the strengthening of teachers’ roles as agents of character formation. These efforts contribute to fostering nationalism, tolerance, social responsibility, and awareness of justice among students. The study concludes that Islamic education at SDIT Daar El Falah plays a strategic role in preparing students to respond constructively to national and global challenges while upholding Islamic values, national identity, and social justice.

Abstract

The curriculum is one of the important tools that determine the success of achieving educational goals in schools. The achievement of educational goals implemented in the application of the right curriculum depends on good curriculum management. This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of curriculum management at SMPIT Assyifa Boarding School Wanareja Subang in an effort to achieve institutional goals. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of field research. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The Educational Objective of SMPIT Assyifa Boarding School Wanareja Subang is "Creating a Generation of Rabbani who are Pious, Smart and have Leader Character". 2) To achieve the educational goals set by the institution, the curriculum applied at SMPIT Assyifa Boarding School Wanareja Subang is the "Assyifa Curriculum" which is a combination of the MAPADI Curriculum, the National Curriculum and the Dormitory & JSIT Curriculum

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of principal supervision on teacher performance mediated by socio-cultural factors. The research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population of this study is elementary school teachers of the Regional Education Corps of Sindangkasih District, Ciamis Regency which totals 86 teachers. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire through google form media. The data analysis technique uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of Lisrel 8.8 software. The results showed that the supervision of the principal had a significant influence of 70% on teacher performance, but when mediated by socio-cultural, the influence was only 9.8%. This shows that although socio-cultural values, such as work culture, social relationships, and norms in schools, contribute to teacher performance, their role is still relatively small compared to the direct influence of the principal's supervision. These findings show that socio-cultural has not been fully integrated as a strong supporting factor in the relationship between principal supervision and teacher performance.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of maqāṣid asy-syarī‘ah values in the human rights education model at Pesantren Persis 67 Benda, Tasikmalaya, focusing on curriculum and institutional culture. Maqāṣid asy-syarī‘ah, which includes the protection of religion, life, intellect, lineage, and property, aligns with universal human rights principles. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through document analysis, observation, and interviews with teachers and administrators. The findings reveal systematic internalization of maqāṣid values through an integrative curriculum and institutional practices. Critical thinking training, moral development, and social-dakwah programs exemplify the Islamic-based implementation of human rights. Challenges include limited student participation in decision-making and tensions between discipline and individual freedom. The study concludes that a maqāṣid-based educational model offers a philosophical and operational foundation for developing a contextual, Islamic approach to human rights that promotes humanistic character formation.

Abstract

This study examines the principles of curriculum development in Islamic Education within the Merdeka Curriculum through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Literature was retrieved from Google Scholar using the Publish or Perish application and analyzed following the PRISMA framework. Of the 986 records identified, six studies met the inclusion criteria and were synthesized. The findings identify six core principles of curriculum development: orientation toward the goals of Islamic education, relevance to contemporary developments, integration of Islamic values across curriculum components, student-centered learning, flexibility and adaptability, and a comprehensive and holistic approach. The review also reveals that curriculum development is influenced by educational policy, technological advancement, philosophical and psychological foundations, sociocultural context, globalization, religion, and economic conditions. These findings provide a conceptual framework for strengthening the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Islamic Education.

Abstract

This research is motivated by several problems, both personal and global, including lack of clear strategies and methods, low student involvement, effective assessment and feedback, limited resources, the use of technology in learning the Qur'an, advances in science and technology, democratization and moral decadence. So that Islamic education needs to take strategic steps by fixing several internal problems. In essence, Islamic educational institutions must prepare superior human resources who have competitiveness in the face of global competition, so that the management of Qur'anic tahsin learning becomes very important for educational institutions, especially Islamic boarding schools, to be mastered and implemented by every educational institution. The main objectives of this study are to identify the management of Tahsin Al-Qur'an learning in educational institutions, especially in Al-Qur'an Islamic boarding schools in West Java, namely: 1) analyze the learning planning of Tahsin Al-Qur'an in Pesantren Al-Qur'an in West Java, 2) analyze the implementation of learning Tahsin Al-Qur'an in Pesantren Al-Qur'an in West Java, 3) analyze the results in learning Tahsin Al-Qur'an in the Islamic Boarding School of the Qur'an exist in West Java, 4) analyze supporting and inhibiting factors in learning Tahsin Al-Qur'an in the Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in West Java. The approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative research which is a response to the presence of something about human existence, not only to understand specific or particular, but all aspects. The results of this study show that Based on the results of a study entitled "Management of Tahsin Al-Qur'an Learning (Pesantren Research in West Java)" it can be concluded that each Islamic boarding school institution has different learning models, learning strategies and ways of evaluating and has different graduation standards so that it has characteristics, pesantren are different even though the same educational institutions are Tahsin al Qur'an pesantren and not all pesantren have management of learning

Abstract

Globalization has significantly reshaped contemporary education through digitalization, transnational knowledge circulation, and global normative frameworks, compelling Islamic education to adapt while preserving its moral and spiritual foundations. Although existing studies discuss globalization, Islamic education reform, and human rights separately, there remains a lack of systematic synthesis integrating these dimensions. This study addresses this gap by conducting a PRISMA-based Systematic Literature Review of peer-reviewed journal articles (2015–2025) indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. Using thematic synthesis guided by the maqāṣid al-sharīʿah framework, the review analyzes how globalization drives paradigm shifts in Islamic education and shapes and mediates the integration of human rights principles. The findings reveal a transition toward learner-centered pedagogy, competency-based curricula, and adaptive institutional governance aligned with ḥifẓ al-ʿaql, while human rights integration remains uneven and often normative. Maqāṣid-based reasoning emerges as a key mediating framework that contextualizes human rights within Islamic educational values. The study highlights the need for maqāṣid-oriented policies and governance reforms to ensure that globalization and human rights advance intellectual development, dignity, justice, and moral responsibility in Islamic education.
