Abstract

General Background Islamic education in Indonesia functions not only as a means of transmitting religious knowledge but also as a medium for cultivating moral values, legal awareness, and social behavior within Muslim society. Specific Background Within Indonesia’s pluralistic legal and educational landscape, Islamic education and Islamic law coexist and interact across formal institutions, community settings, and national educational frameworks. Knowledge Gap Despite extensive scholarship on Islamic education and Islamic law as separate domains, their interrelationship in the Indonesian context has not been systematically synthesized. Aims This study aims to examine scholarly patterns, themes, and perspectives concerning the relationship between Islamic education and Islamic law in Indonesia through a Systematic Literature Review. Results The review of six studies published between 2024 and 2025 reveals that Islamic education serves as a primary channel for internalizing Islamic legal principles through formal instruction, character education, and ethical habituation, while Islamic law provides a normative foundation shaping curricula, pedagogical orientations, and moral objectives. The findings also indicate a reciprocal relationship that contributes to legal consciousness, ethical behavior, family legal knowledge, and sociocultural practices. Novelty This study offers an integrated synthesis that positions Islamic education and Islamic law as mutually reinforcing systems rather than isolated fields. Implications Strengthening their integration is essential for fostering moral integrity, legal awareness, and social harmony within Indonesia’s contemporary educational and sociocultural environment. Highlights: Islamic learning environments function as primary spaces for the internalization of normative legal principles. Normative legal frameworks guide curriculum orientation and ethical objectives within religious schooling. Reciprocal educational–legal interaction supports moral development and social cohesion in plural contexts. Keywords: Islamic Education, Islamic Law, Legal Awareness, Character Education, Systematic Literature Review

Abstract

General Background: Religious life in Indonesia faces increasing challenges marked by intolerance, extremism, and digital radicalization within a pluralistic society. Specific Background: Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), as long-established Islamic educational institutions, have historically integrated religious teachings, local wisdom, and national values through holistic educational traditions. Knowledge Gap: Despite extensive discussions on religious moderation, a comprehensive synthesis of empirical evidence on how pesantren internalize religious moderation values remains limited. Aims: This study aims to systematically examine the existence and role of pesantren in internalizing religious moderation values in Indonesia. Results: Based on a Systematic Literature Review of seventeen peer-reviewed articles published between 2021 and 2025, the findings indicate that pesantren internalize religious moderation through epistemological foundations of wasatiyyah, integrative curricula, exemplary kyai leadership, communal daily practices, and adaptive engagement with digital media, contributing to social cohesion and national unity. Novelty: This study presents a consolidated conceptual understanding of pesantren as epistemic, pedagogical, and socio-cultural ecosystems for religious moderation. Implications: The findings highlight pesantren as strategic socio-religious institutions capable of sustaining moderate, inclusive, and tolerant religious life while reinforcing national integrity amid globalization and digital transformation. Highlights: Pesantren operate as holistic educational ecosystems embedding moderation through lived religious and social practices. Integrative curricula, moral leadership, and digital engagement support balanced religious-national identities. Moderation-oriented education within pesantren contributes to social cohesion and protection against radical narratives. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and the application of Cognitivism Learning Theory at SDN Cileunyi 04. A phenomenological approach was employed to explore the direct experiences of the principal, teachers, and students in implementing the curriculum. This qualitative research utilized interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's methods, including data reduction, data presentation, and continuous conclusion drawing. The findings reveal significant progress at SDN Cileunyi 04 in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum, emphasizing student-centered learning and the application of Cognitivism principles. Teachers actively foster innovative teaching strategies, encouraging students to think critically, creatively, and produce tangible outcomes. However, challenges persist, such as limited teacher understanding of the curriculum's philosophy and suboptimal execution of the Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile Project (P5). Proposed solutions include continuous teacher training, leveraging technology for learning, and collaborating with communities and stakeholders to enrich programs. These findings highlight SDN Cileunyi 04's potential to serve as a model of successful curriculum implementation aligned with national education goals.

Abstract

Learning theory has an important role in the development of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum, because it can provide a scientific basis for designing an effective learning experience. This research explores various learning theories, such as constructivism, behaviorism, and cognitivism, as well as their implications for PAI learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with the systematic literature review (SLR) method which examines various results of previous research related to the application of learning theory to PAI learning and its relevance to curriculum development. The analysis of the data needs of this SLR method is through steps, namely the identification step of the research focus and the screening  stage of various indexed journal articles using inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of this study show that in general, cognitive theory emphasizes the cognitive structure of students. Thus, the subject matter delivered in PAI lessons can be adjusted to the ability of students, then in behaviorsime theory is seen as a process of behavior change as a result of the interaction between stimulus and response, this theory is very suitable for the development of children's behavior in order to strengthen the good habits that have been formed so that they do not disappear slowly,  while constructivistic learning, according to the author, is a learning process that involves a student who is required to learn actively, innovatively and have an independent and capable way of thinking in overcoming problems that the teacher gives based on their understanding and involves experience well.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of global policies on gender equality on the formulation and implementation of education policies in Indonesia. Using a thematic narrative review approach, this study synthesizes academic literature, global policy documents, and national implementation reports to trace the relationship between international frameworks such as SDG 4.5 and UNESCO guidelines with gender-responsive policies at the national level and practices in schools. The analysis results show that although global policies have influenced the direction of national regulations, implementation at the school level is still uneven and does not fully reflect the principle of structural equality. Gaps exist in cultural aspects, teacher capacity, monitoring mechanisms, and the policy adaptation process. This research makes a theoretical contribution to the development of policy transfer studies in gender education and offers a conceptual model that can be used for further research and more effective policy formulation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by madrasah principals to enhance teacher professionalism through the implementation of managerial functions, academic supervision, entrepreneurship, and socio-spiritual leadership at MAN 1 Bandung and MAN 2 Bandung. The study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive case study method. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, while data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research findings indicate that strategies for enhancing teacher professionalism begin with needs-based planning, followed by strengthening clinical academic supervision, fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture, and implementing continuous evaluation. The implementation of these strategies has a positive impact on improving teachers’ pedagogical and professional competencies, work discipline, and the quality of learning. The novelty of this research lies in the discovery of the “Resilient Professionalism” model a model of teacher professionalism that emphasizes resilience and adaptability to changes in curriculum, technology, and educational dynamics. This model is built through the synergy of the spiritual-managerial leadership of the madrasah principal and the collective efficacy of teachers to achieve sustainable quality in Islamic education.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Strategi, Pendidikan Multikultural, Pengembangan  ABSTRACT The research is motivated by the diversity of ethics, ethnicity, language, skin color, religion, and social status of the people in West Java which has the potential for horizontal conflicts if not equipped with multicultural education. This study uses a qualitative analysis with library research methods and content analysis techniques. The data obtained is compiled, analyzed and concluded. The results showed that multicultural education has an important role in the framework of fostering mutual support, not being suspicious, and encouraging the spirit to maintain the integrity of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia. Although research on multicultural education has been done a lot, supporting this educational model cannot be fully realized in the soul of the people of West Java. Therefore, there is a need for a multicultural education development strategy to demand harmony in the community in West Java and also foster pluralism and respect for differences. Development strategies that can be carried out are brainstorming (instead of leadership) and implementation of activities, both those that oppose discourse (such as seminars, training, and talk shows), and also practical ones (such as research, module settings, new curriculum connections, bookmaking, training, simulations, media campaigns, and others). Keywords: Development, Multicultural Education, Strategy

Abstract

This study is motivated by the challenges of strengthening students' religious character in the digital era, including social media influences, materialistic lifestyles, and the lack of integration between formal education and Islamic values. It aims to identify and describe the objectives, programs, implementation processes, supporting and inhibiting factors, evaluation, and impacts of strengthening students' religious character through YouTube-based Islamic content, pesantren student programs, and Qur'an memorization (tahfidz) at STIT At-Taqwa Ciparay and STAI Yamisa Soreang. This research employs a qualitative comparative case study approach. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using an inductive process involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the programs aim to produce students who are faithful, pious, morally grounded, and resilient in the digital era. Implementation is carried out through digital Islamic literacy via YouTube, structured pesantren activities (such as congregational worship, classical Islamic studies, muhadharah, and moral training), and Qur'an memorization programs (tahsin and tahfidz). These processes are strengthened through habituation, reflection, and internalization of Islamic values. The study also identifies supporting factors, such as institutional leadership, educator competence, and student engagement, while challenges include technological limitations, diverse student backgrounds, and issues with content supervision. Overall, the programs contribute to improved discipline, empathy, patience, and the application of Islamic values in academic and social life, and produce an integrative model for strengthening students' religious character that combines digital media, pesantren-based education, and Qur'anic learning.

Abstract

This study examines Arabic language teachers’ readiness to integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into instructional practices, identifies key challenges, and explores strategic opportunities for pedagogical use. A qualitative library research design was applied using descriptive-analytical and comparative methods based on peer-reviewed literature (2019–2025) on artificial intelligence, language education, and teacher readiness. Findings indicate that teacher readiness remains at an early, uneven stage, shaped by a socio-technical configuration comprising digital literacy, pedagogical competence, psychological disposition, and institutional support. From a TPACK perspective, technological knowledge is less developed than pedagogical and content knowledge, limiting effective integration of AI in Arabic language learning. Psychological barriers such as technological anxiety and low self-efficacy, along with unequal infrastructure and policy support, further constrain adoption. However, gradual exposure to AI tools fosters experiential learning and incremental development of readiness. Despite challenges, LLMs offer opportunities for improved learning effectiveness, personalized instruction, the development of higher-order thinking, and the integration of Islamic educational values. The study conceptualizes teacher readiness as a socio-technical and developmental construct. It highlights the need for AI literacy development, curriculum redesign, and institutional policy support to ensure ethical and sustainable integration of LLMs in Arabic language education.
