Abstract

This This study aims to analyze the challenges of da‘wah and the dynamics of socio-religious change in remote rural areas, using a case study of Tanjung Gelumpang Village, Sekerak District, Aceh Tamiang Regency. This village is classified as an isolated area characterized by limited infrastructure access, the minimal presence of professional da‘is, and increasingly difficult geographical conditions due to recurrent flooding that has cut off land access and made river routes the only means of transportation. These conditions objectively constitute structural barriers to formal da‘wah activities. Nevertheless, this study reveals an interesting phenomenon in the form of a high level of religious practice and the sustainability of the village’s socio-religious life. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through field observations, in-depth interviews with local religious leaders and customary figures, and documentation of community religious activities. The findings indicate that local actors-such as mosque imams, customary elders, and santri who have completed their pesantren education play a key role in sustaining community-based da‘wah. Da‘wah in this village does not rely on formal institutions but instead develops through social relations, exemplary conduct, and local wisdom that is internalized in the community’s everyday life. These findings emphasize that da‘wah in remote rural areas has distinct characteristics compared to urban da‘wah and requires a contextual approach that is adaptive to the social, cultural, and geographical conditions of the community. This study is expected to contribute both theoretically and practically to the development of community-based da‘wah concepts in marginal and isolated regions.

Abstract

Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) have revolutionized the management of diabetic kidney disease (DKD), offering profound renoprotection through the restoration of tubuloglomerular feedback and reduction of intraglomerular pressure. However, their perioperative safety profile remains a subject of intense debate. While the pharmacological mechanisms of SGLT2 inhibitors may theoretically ameliorate ischemia-reperfusion injury and prevent acute kidney injury (AKI), the metabolic shift towards ketogenesis raises concerns regarding perioperative Euglycemic Diabetic Ketoacidosis (euDKA). This meta-analysis aimed to quantify the risks of AKI and euDKA in DKD patients continuing or withholding SGLT2i prior to non-cardiac surgery. A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted following PRISMA 2020 guidelines. We analyzed data from seven high-quality studies, including large-scale propensity-matched cohorts and randomized controlled trials published through 2026, involving patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and DKD undergoing non-cardiac surgery. The primary outcomes were the incidence of postoperative AKI (KDIGO criteria) and euDKA. Secondary outcomes included 30-day mortality and urinary tract infections. Pooled Odds Ratios (OR) with 95% Confidence Intervals (CI) were calculated using a random-effects model (DerSimonian-Laird). The pooled analysis included a total of 142,530 patients. The use of SGLT2 inhibitors was associated with a robust and statistically significant reduction in postoperative AKI compared to non-users (Pooled OR 0.69; 95% CI 0.62–0.78; p < 0.001). This renoprotective signal was consistent across various surgical subtypes. Conversely, SGLT2i use was associated with an increased risk of euDKA (Pooled OR 2.34; 95% CI 1.45–3.78; p = 0.001), although the absolute event rate remained low (<1%). Subgroup analysis revealed that preoperative withdrawal of <24 hours significantly exacerbated DKA risk compared to a withdrawal period of 3–4 days, without providing additional protection against AKI. In conclusion, in patients with DKD undergoing non-cardiac surgery, preoperative SGLT2 inhibitor use presents a distinct renoprotective paradox: it significantly reduces the risk of AKI, likely through attenuation of oxidative stress and preservation of renal oxygenation, but increases the risk of euDKA. The benefits of AKI prevention outweigh the rare risk of DKA, provided a structured preoperative withdrawal protocol of 3 days is strictly implemented.

Abstract

High school adolescents are a vulnerable group to exposure to addictive substances due to social and academic pressures, thus requiring literacy-based preventive interventions. This community service program aimed to strengthen students’ literacy regarding the hazards of addictive substances at SMA Negeri 2 Banjarbaru through a chemical literacy-based approach, delivered using educational infographics and participatory learning activities. The program was implemented in a single integrated session consisting of a pre-test, delivery of materials using infographic media accompanied by interactive mini quizzes via Quizizz, a question-and-answer session, and a post-test. A total of 36 students participated in the activity, comprising 12 representatives from each grade level (grades X, XI, and XII). Evaluation results showed an improvement in students’ understanding of addictive substances, as indicated by an increase in the average pre-test score of 66.4 (median 70.0 with score ranged from 30.0 to 100.0) to an average post-test score of 87.5 (median 90.0 with score ranged from 60.0 to 100.0), representing an increase of 21.1 points (31.8%). In addition to quantitative evaluation, brief non-formal interviews with students conducted during and after the activity indicated early signs of changes in students perspectives, particularly in their awareness of adopting healthier and non-addictive coping mechanisms when dealing with academic stress. These findings suggest that infographic-based educational approaches combined with interactive activities are effective in enhancing literacy on the hazards of addictive substances as a foundation for primary prevention among adolescents. To support program sustainability, the educational materials were provided to the school in both printed and digital formats for use in guidance and counseling services as well as school health programs.

Abstract

The transition toward electronic-based government systems has disrupted traditional public sector administration, necessitating a re-evaluation of the determinants of bureaucratic performance. This study analyzes the impact of digital competence, emotional intelligence, and transformational leadership on employee performance, specifically investigating the mediating role of job satisfaction within the public sector accounting and finance environment of the Bengkulu Provincial Government. Utilizing a quantitative cross-sectional survey design grounded in Equity Theory, primary data were collected from 177 State Civil Apparatus personnel across 41 Regional Apparatus Organizations, selected through purposive sampling. The empirical data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results demonstrate that digital competence, emotional intelligence, and transformational leadership exert positive effects on job satisfaction. Job satisfaction, in turn, is positively associated with employee performance. Furthermore, mediation path analysis reveals that job satisfaction acts as a complementary mediator in the relationships between both digital competence and emotional intelligence and employee performance. The analysis also uncovers that job satisfaction serves as an indirect-only mediator (full mediation) in the relationship between transformational leadership and performance, indicating that leadership style alone cannot directly drive performance in highly regulated bureaucratic settings without first establishing employee satisfaction. As practical recommendations, government agencies should implement targeted technical training for specific platforms such as the Regional Government Information System (SIPD) and establish structured emotional intelligence and leadership coaching programs to optimize bureaucratic performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the problems and obstacles in applying ISAK 335 in the financial reporting of the Bengkulu Government Mosque. The method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. This research collects data through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results showed that government-run mosques in Bengkulu City, namely, At-Taqwa Grand Mosque, Baitul Izzah Grand Mosque, and Jamik Mosque have not implemented clear accounting standards and there is no routine supervision from the government and specific regulations regarding mosque financial management. The resulting financial reports are still simple and not by standards, potentially resulting in a lack of transparency and misuse of funds. This study recommends the need for training for mosque administrators, the creation of local regulations on mosque financial management, and regular supervision by the government to improve accountability and public trust. The limitation of this study is the lack of financial report data for two of the three mosques studied, which may affect the analysis results. The findings are expected to be the basis for improvements in mosque financial management in the future.
