Abstract

The growing reliance on AI-driven technologies has raised critical concerns about the decline in students’ abilities in critical thinking, logical reasoning, and motor skills. In response, this study investigates the potential of abacus learning a traditional method that stimulates both hemispheres of the brain by engaging both hands simultaneously to mitigate these challenges. The primary objective is to develop and evaluate an abacus training management model that strengthens the instructional competence of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teachers, enabling them to implement abacus-based learning effectively within the context of modern educational demands. The research was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri Bandar Lampung using the ADDIE model, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. Data were collected through surveys, interviews, and documentation to support the design, development, and validation of the training model. Expert assessments demonstrated high feasibility: material experts rated the model at 88.75%, and media experts at 92.5%. Additionally, teachers who participated in the training assessed its effectiveness at 85%, indicating strong usability. Quantitative analysis using a t-test revealed a t-observed value of 44.737, significantly exceeding the t-critical value of 2.069 at a 0.05 significance level. This confirms that the model is statistically effective in improving teachers’ abacus teaching skills. These findings reaffirm the continued relevance of traditional tools like the abacus in an era dominated by artificial intelligence. The study concludes that integrating such manual learning strategies can complement digital advancements. Future research is recommended to explore this model’s application across varied educational settings and learner demographics.

Abstract

This study examines the legal status of zakat on professional income earned by Indonesian migrant workers in South Korea, based on the views of Yusuf al-Qaradawi. It evaluates the applicability of his perspective to the practice of zakat in this context. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, the research is based on field data obtained through observation and structured interviews. The findings show that professional income is subject to zakat if workers meet the legal and religious requirements. The income is classified as al-mal al-mustafad al-amalah, meaning earnings derived from wages or salaries through professional work. Furthermore, the average monthly income of these workers exceeds the nisab threshold when compared to the regional minimum wage, thus fulfilling the obligation for zakat. Yusuf al-Qaradawi’s interpretation remains relevant, as he draws an analogy between zakat on professional income and zakat on monetary assets, underscoring its necessity among migrant workers.

Abstract

Education is a deliberate and planned effort to create a teaching and learning environment where students can actively develop their potential to have personality, character, a sense of self-control, religious spiritual soul, and knowledge to live a life in society. Education is changing in the home, community, and educational institutions. The instructional leadership role of school principals as educators, managers, administrators, leaders, innovators and motivators cannot be separated from educational change in schools. One of the three implementers of the Driving School Program (PSP) is SMA Negeri 1 Gerung. Where PSP is a government program that collaborates with regional governments (PEMDA) in various interventions to improve the level of education. PSP concentrates on the process of developing holistic student learning outcomes which include basic literacy and numeracy competencies as well as character. The research approach used is empirical research, namely research with data in the field as the main data source, such as the results of interviews and observations. In this research, the researcher focuses on SMAN 1 Gerung which is the implementer of the Driving School Program (PSP) in Lombok Regency West.

Abstract

Turbofan engines have been the dominant type of engine in aircraft for the last forty years. Ensuring the quality of these engines is crucial for flight safety, particularly for long-distance flights. However, their performance degrades over time, impacting flight safety. To address this issue, it is essential to predict potential engine failures by estimating the Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of the engines Deep learning, especially Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in handling intricate, non-linear data, leading to improved RUL predictionsdue to their ability to process complex and non-linear data. In this project, a 1-D CNN is used to predict RUL using the NASA C-MAPSS FD001 dataset, which consists of 3 settings and 21 sensors, though sensors with stagnant readings are excluded. The dataset is normalized using min-max and z-score methods, and then segmented into sequences for input into the 1-D CNN model. Various training scenarios were evaluated, with the best RMSE of 3.26 achieved using 10 epochs, a learning rate of 0.0001, and z-score normalization. The results indicate that feature selection can produce a lower RMSE compared to scenarios without feature selection.

Abstract

Islamic multicultural education in formal education can be implemented since elementary school. The purpose of this article is to describe the application of multicultural education with moderate Islamic values through the learning process in elementary schools to shape the character of nationalism in Indonesia. The qualitative method was used in this study to see the phenomena that occur in the field. The data analysis used was the source and technique triangulation method. There were 8 respondents from three elementary schools, namely Sekolah Dasar Negeri 7 Kota Metro, Sekolah Dasar Negeri 4 Kota Metro, and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Kota Metro. The research instruments used were interviews, observations, and documentation, which were then analyzed through inductive thinking. The development of multicultural education and moderate Islamic values in shaping the character of nationalism was done through the integration of moderate Islam by instilling tawassuth, tassamuh, tawazun, and amar ma'ruf nahimunkar attitudes by introducing the surrounding environment as a cultural plurality (contextual approach) and instilling an attitude of tolerance and able to coexist with other people. These three steps were developed by the teachers in structured lesson planning by formulating goals, setting essential material, carrying out the learning process, and carrying out attitude assessments.

Abstract

This research tries to reveal the meaning of the Sakinah family as one of the goals of marriage as described in the Al-Qur'an Surah Ar-Rum (30:21). The aim, in addition to gaining a clear understanding of the substantive meaning of the term, is to obtain concepts that can be applied in modern life. In achieving this goal, the researcher tries to examine a number of opinions of modern interpretive scholars and analyze them using a qualitative descriptive approach. Based on the results of the analysis of a number of ideas from modern commentators, it can be concluded that the Sakinah family is a family in which harmony, peace, and comfort are created, and runs on legal and religious norms. To realize a sakinah family, every prospective married couple needs to prepare for their marriage from an early age, especially those related to moral, material, mental and spiritual abilities, and have a strong commitment to shaping and maintaining family continuity based on the guidelines and rules of religion and society.

Abstract

Indonesia is a unitary state with a heterogeneous population consisting of various ethnic groups, religions, races, and groups (SARA). Indonesian society with this diversity, has the potential to cause friction or conflict. Indonesian mujtahids who interpret the Qur'an offer conflict resolution efforts in their commentary books. This paper aims to explore the moderate attitude as an effort to resolve the Indonesian conflict in Tafsir Al-Azhar, An-Nur, and Al-Mishbah. This research is classified as library research with analytical descriptive nature. Treating everyone fairly and being tolerant of differences that are not related to faith and promoting peace are moderate attitudes offered by Indonesian commentators as an effort to resolve conflicts.
