Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara efikasi diri siswa dan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris mereka di kelas satu MAN 4 AGAM. Ada permasalahan mendasar yang dihadapi oleh siswa dalam kemampuan berbicara seperti beberapa siswa khawatir dengan kemampuan berbicara mereka. Oleh karena itu, beberapa siswa masih kekurangan kosakata yang menyebabkan mereka tidak berbicara dengan lancar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan desain korelasional. Populasinya adalah 91 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan total sampling karena populasi penelitian kurang dari 100. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket dan dokumentasi nilai akhir penampilan berbicara bahasa Inggris siswa yang diperoleh dari guru bahasa Inggris. Untuk menganalisis data peneliti menggunakan Koefisien Korelasi Pearson Product Moment (r) dan untuk menguji hipotesis peneliti menggunakan rumus uji r dan hasilnya dikonsultasikan ke dalam r tabel dengan a = 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa koefisien korelasi (r) sebesar 0,407. Artinya terdapat korelasi sedang antara efikasi diri siswa dan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris mereka, arah korelasi menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi positif antara kedua variabel. Dengan kata lain berdasarkan uji hipotesis diperoleh r-score sebesar 0,407 sedangkan r-tabel pada a = 0,05 adalah 0,206. Artinya nilai r lebih besar dari r tabel. Oleh karena itu, H? diterima dan H? ditolak, yang menyatakan ada korelasi yang signifikan antara efikasi diri dan kinerja berbicara bahasa Inggris siswa.

Abstract

The surge in COVID-19 cases has a negative impact on the mental health of individuals, such as stress, depression, or fear, leading to a decline in immune response. The effects of this virus also affect the quality of life of heart failure patients. The aim of this research was to identify the barriers faced by heart failure patients in returning to hospital care during the COVID-19 pandemic and maintaining their quality of life. This study employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The research samples consisted of 53 heart failure patients selected through accidental sampling with the inclusion criteria of patients readmitted to the hospital. The majority of patients experienced mild barriers, especially in self-care management. Non-compliance with treatments remained a major challenge for patients. The data regarding various barriers faced by heart failure patients in maintaining their quality of life during the COVID-19 pandemic can serve as a foundation for developing intervention models to enhance the quality of life for readmitted patients during the pandemic.

ABSTRAKPembentukan stoma berisiko menimbulkan komplikasi. Untuk itu, pasien perlu mendapatkan edukasi melalui discharge planning. Namun, saat ini pelaksanaannya belum optimal. Tujuan: Untuk mengidentifikasi variasi model edukasi discharge planning pada ostomate serta pengaruhnya terhadap kemampuan perawatan diri dan penyesuaian ostomate terhadap kondisinya. Metode: Systematic review ini menggunakan pedoman ceklis PRISMA dan pencarian artikel menggunakan database PubMed, ProQuest, Science Direct, Wiley Online Library, dan EBSCO. Kata kunci yang digunakan ialah “Patient Education AND Stoma OR Ostomy OR Colostomy OR Ostomate AND Self-Care” dengan kriteria semua artikel tentang edukasi discharge planning, kemampuan perawatan dan penyesuaian diri ostomate (usia >18 tahun), studi randomized controlled trial (RCT) dan quasi-experiment. Strategi pencarian dengan penyaringan full text, artikel tahun 2017–2022, berbahasa Inggris. Kualitas artikel dinilai menggunakan Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP). Hasil: Enam artikel yang diidentifikasi secara umum menunjukkan bahwa discharge planning berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan perawatan diri pasien. Adapun variasi model edukasi discharge planning yang dapat digunakan ialah transtheoritical model (TTM), model NPET, model OMRE, edukasi dengan simulasi, model edukasi terstruktur, dan intervensi edukasi melalui prosedur FOCUS-PDCA. Diskusi: Intervensi edukasi dalam pelaksanaan discharge planning dapat diberikan secara langsung (face-to-face) ataupun melalui pemanfaatan telenursing, dan meskipun berbeda teknik maupun cara implentasinya namun semua model edukasi dari hasil tinjauan sistematik ini telah terbukti memberikan efek positif untuk ostomate. Kesimpulan: Discharge planning yang diimplementasikan secara terstruktur serta memperhatikan isi edukasi, bermafaat bagi peningkatkan kemampuan perawatan diri dan penyesuaian ostomate terhadap kondisinya.Kata kunci: discharge planning, edukasi, ostomate, stoma Educational Model for Implementing Discharge Planning in Patients with Stoma (Ostomate): A Systematic Review ABSTRACTFormation of a stoma poses risks of complications; hence, patients need education through discharge planning, yet its implementation is currently suboptimal. Objective: To identify variations in education models of discharge planning for ostomates and their impact on self-care ability and adjustment of ostomates to their condition. Methods: This Systematic Review followed PRISMA checklist guidelines, and article searches were conducted using PubMed, ProQuest, Science Direct, Wiley Online Library, and EBSCO databases. Keywords used were "Patient Education AND Stoma OR Ostomy OR Colostomy OR Ostomate AND Self-Care" with criteria of all articles on discharge planning education, ostomate self-care ability, and adjustment (age >18 years), Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT), and quasi-experiment studies. The search strategy included full-text screening, articles from 2017-2022, and English language. Article quality was assessed using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP). Results: Six identified articles generally influenced the improvement of patients' self-care abilities. Various models of discharge planning education identified were transtheoretical model (TTM), NPET model, OMRE model, education with simulation, structured education model, and FOCUS-PDCA procedure education intervention. Discussion: Education interventions in implementing discharge planning can be provided directly (face-to-face) or through tele-nursing, and although different in techniques and implementation methods, all education models from this systematic review have been proven to affect ostomates positively. Conclusion: Structured implementation of discharge planning considering education content is beneficial for improving self-care abilities and the adjustment of ostomates to their condition.Keywords: discharge planning,education, ostomate,  stoma

Abstract

Evidence-based practice (EBP) in nursing practice is one way to solve nursing problems based on existing research evidence. Implementation of EBP must be organized properly so that the expected results are also good. This integrative review aimed to identify the literature implementing EBP and barriers to EBP implementation. An integrative review was conducted using the Whittemore and Knafi approach. Results: EBP can be implemented to overcome problems in nursing interventions, use new instruments, and test regulations related to nursing practice. Implementation of EBP using an appropriate framework can improve implementation outcomes. EBP can provide opportunities for nurses to solve problems encountered in nursing practice.

Abstract

Stunting is a nutritional issue caused by prolonged insufficient nutrient intake, resulting in growth impairment in children, characterized by shorter height than the standard for their age. The causes of stunting are multidimensional, and one of them is food insecurity. Food insecurity is a condition where food needs are not adequately met at the regional, community, or household levels. According to data from the North Lombok District Health Office, there is a prevalence of 33.8% stunted toddlers in North Lombok District. Objective: This research aims to determine the relationship between food insecurity at the village level and the occurrence of stunting in children aged 24-59 months. Method: This study employed a cross-sectional study design with a total of 350 respondents selected using systemic random sampling method. Data on food insecurity were obtained from the North Lombok District Food Security Agency, while nutritional status data were obtained by measuring the length or height of toddlers using microtoice and infantometer, which were then compared with their age. The statistical test utilized in this study was the Chi-Square test.Results: The test on the relationship between food insecurity at the village level and the occurrence of stunting yielded a p-value of < 0.001, OR = <0.001, 95% CI = 0.086-0.225..Conclusions There is a significant association between food insecurity at the village level and the occurrence of stunting among toddlers aged 24-59 months.

Abstract

Having a healthy and perfect child is every parent's dream. There are times when the expectations are not the same as the reality when children are born with developmental barriers. This fact illustrates that the process of parents in accepting children with special needs is not easy. Especially in the Sorong city. There is not therapy and treatment spaces in Sorong City. Thus making the stress level and lower parental self-acceptance. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to analize whether positive parenting training can increase the self-acceptance of parents with special need children in Sorong city. The research method used is an experimental pretest-posttest control group design. The data collection method used the provision of a self-acceptance scale at the time of the pretest and posttest, observation and interviews during the training. Before the training was carried out, the researchers first made a training module along with the pretest and posttest. The results showed that the level of parental acceptance ranged from 6 to 10 Of the 38 participants who participated in the training optimally. So it can be concluded that positive parenting training can increase the self-acceptance of parents with special need children in sorong city

Abstract

This study examined the effect of the think-pair-share strategy on seventh grade students at the junior high school in MtsS Ashhabul Yamin, Lasi Tuo's ability to write descriptive text. The background for this study was the students' difficulties with writing when learning English. First, most of the students did not understand well how to make a short paragraph. Second, many of the students had limited of vocabulary. Third, some of the students were difficult to writing the sentences that has the correct grammar. In this study, the researcher compared two classes using a quantitative method and a quasi-experimental research design. The sample of this study were junior high school students in the seventh grade at MTsS Ashhabul Yamin, Lasi Tuo, specifically 7.6 as the experimental class with 28 students and 7.9 as the control class with 27 students. The instrument of this research was writing test. The data was analyzed by using independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test in SPSS 22. The result of the research indicated that there was significant effect of students writing ability between the students who were taught by using think pair share strategy and without using think-pair-share strategy. It can be seen from the value of sig. (2-tailed) which was smaller than the alpha value (0,000<0,05). From the result of the data, it can be concluded that, using think pair share strategy gave significant effect of writing ability in descriptive text.

Abstract

This research aims to find the correlation between students' motivation and writing ability during online learning. This research was conducted at MTsN 2 Payakumbuh because it cannot be denied that there are still students who face problems in writing, including students who are not interested and feel bored while studying, some students feel unmotivated to complete assignments, and students who have difficulty writing in English. The research method used is quantitative with a correlational design. The data were collected by using a questionnaire consisting of 30 statements to determine the level of student motivation, and students' writing scores during online learning to determine the level of students' writing ability. Researcher used 35 students from a population of 140 students with purposive sampling technique. To analyze the data, the researcher used the Spearman’s Rank. The results showed there is no significant correlation between students' motivation and their writing ability during online leaerning in 7th grade at MTsN 2 Payakumbuh” in this research.The researcher found the correlation coefficient between student motivation and writing ability in 7th grade MTsN 2 Payakumbuh was 0,102. Meanwhile t-table on df = 33 and = 0,05 was 0.344. It means, the rs was smaller than ttable and Ha is rejected. The magnitude lies between 0,00 – 0,199. Thus, there is a positive correlation between student motivation and writing ability during online learning in 7th grade MTSN 2 Payakumbuh.

Abstract

The Indonesian school system curriculum was changed from KTSP to curriculum 2013 (K13) since the year 2013. This alteration of the curriculum dealt an impact by changing the allocated time for English classes. Within KTSP, Teachers taught English subject for four hours session per week, which means four times 45 minutes each week, whereas, within the K13, the allocated time for English subject is a two hours session per week which means two times 45 minutes which means there is a reduction in time for English subject. This study aims to determine how English teachers manage their time by conducting interviews, observations, and documentation analysis on 11th grade English teachers at MAN 1 Pasaman, Indonesia. Findings revealed seven strategies, namely following the school calendar, setting goals and working on achieving those goals, prioritizing the more important goal, making a daily schedule of classroom activities, making a to-do list, setting a time limit for the task in the classroom, and utilising transition time effectively. The findings are a novelty because few studies have identified the specific strategies that English teachers used to successfully adapt to the curriculum change. Thus, this study contributes to future educators preparing and anticipating possible curriculum changes that may drastically change teaching time.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the students’ perceptions of the flipped classroom approach in learning English at SMPN 2 X Koto Tanah Datar. The flipped classroom model, which reversed traditional in-class activities and homework, introduced new content at home through videos or readings, and dedicated class time to interactive, hands-on activities. This method sought to enhance student engagement, promote active learning, and provide opportunities for personalized instruction and immediate feedback. The study employed a descriptive quantitative method, focusing on second-grade students. Data were collected using a questionnaire that was distributed to 64 students, who were selected through purposive sampling. The questionnaire aimed to gauge students' perceptions of various aspects of the flipped classroom, including self-directed learning, collaboration, responsibility, learning performance, flexibility, and student satisfaction. The population for this study consisted of all second-grade students at SMPN 2 X Koto for the academic year 2021/2022, totaling 95 students across three classes. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, focusing on classes VIII.1 and VIII.2, to ensure participants had the specific attributes necessary for the research. Based on the findings and analysis, it can be concluded that students at SMPN 2 X Koto Tanah Datar have a highly favorable perception of the Flipped Classroom approach in learning English. The study, which involved 95 second-grade students, revealed positive responses across various aspects such as autonomy in learning, collaboration, responsibility, learning performance, flexibility, individualized experiences, interactions, and overall satisfaction. With an average score of 81.41%, categorized as "Very Good" by Arikunto's criteria, the Flipped Classroom methodology is well-received and deemed beneficial for English education at SMPN 2 X Koto Tanah Datar.
