Abstract

Intervention model consisting of group education, counseling, and leaflet used for optimizing the promotion of Hidangan Ekonomi Kecil (HEK) kampongs as a strategy for the prevention and control of tuberculosis has not been implemented. Tuberculosis (TB) is a public health importance at the global, regional, national, and local level. In line with this background, a research question was raised, i.e. what is the appropriate model for optimzing the promotion of HEK kampongs for the prevention and control of tuberculosis and the improvement of social welfare. This study aimed to examine the intervention model for optimizing the promotion of HEK kampongs for the prevention and control of tuberculosis and the improvement of social welfare. This study was an action research. The intervention comprised group education, counseling, and use of leaflet. The independent variable was an intervention comprising group education, counseling, and use of leaflet. The dependent variables included health-related behavior, quality of environmental health, and ability to pay. Continuous data was described by mean and SD. Categorical data was described by percentage. The effectiveness of intervention was analyzed by McNemar nonparametric test. The results showed that HEK is an important employment in the informal sector, which provides income for the economically weak community. This enterprise is acceptable and is needed by the community. Buyers of HEK are usually community members with low or medium income. The mean profit is Rp 38,500 per day, ranging from Rp 25,000 to Rp 300,000 per day. Mean net income from HEK is Rp 1,021,774 per month, median Rp 900,000 per month, ranging from Rp 560,000 to Rp 2,600,000 per month. Living condition around HEK kampongs has yet to need health requirement. The health intervention can help change the behaviors of the sellers, family members, and buyers, to have healthy behaviors. This study concludes that the promotion of HEK kampongs for the prevention and control of tuberculosis, and the improvement of social welfare can be attained by an intervention that include group education, counseling, and use of leaflet.

The sample had been taken from the population of undergraduate students of Faculty of Medicine, Sebelas Maret University, class of 2012. The sampling had been done using cluster random sampling technique. The obtained data had been statistically analyzed with simple linear regression technique, using Statistical Package for Social Sciences23 (SPSS 23) for Mac and p <0.05 was chosen as the minimal significance level. Result: The data analysis result with simple linear regression technique showed that there was no significant correlation between emotional intelligence and the achieved cumulative grade point average (GPA) in undergraduate students of Faculty of Medicine, Sebelas Maret University Surakarta. (p = 0.536 ; p>0.05). Conclusion: There was no significant correlation between emotional intelligence and the achieved cumulative grade point average (GPA) in undergraduate students of Faculty of Medicine, Sebelas Maret University Surakarta. In addition, they were not smokers, having no history of chronic disease, and or abnormalities of the genitals. Data collected by questionnaires and were analyzed with Chi Square test as well as Multiple Logistic Regression Analysis. Results: Twenty five out of forty subjects had high physical activity, 21 subjects out of them had no erectile dysfunction, in contrast, the other 4 subjects had. The rest of fifteen subjects of the others had low physical activity. Five subjects out of them had no erectile dysfunction, in contrast, 10 subjects out of the others had. It means that erectile dysfunction was more often presented in subject that had low physical activity than subjects that had high physical activity. Multiple Logistic Regression Analysis showed the value of p=0.049 and odds ratio=0.19. Conclusions: There is significant correlation between physical activity and erectile dysfunction at office workers in Grogol Subdistrict, Sukoharjo. Elderly or a person older than 60 years old will be more susceptible to hypertension because there were many changes in body function and structure. Hypertension will lead to changes in vascular structures, disruption of cerebral autoregulation, white matter lesion, lacunar infarction, and eventually result in cognitive impairment. This study aims to determine a relation of hypertension to cognitive impairment in elderly at Posyandu Lansia developed by Puskesmas Ngoresan, Surakarta and factors which affect cognitive impairment. Methods: This was an observational analytic research with a cross sectional study. This research was done in Posyandu Lansia and general clinic of Puskesmas Ngoresan, Surakarta. The subject of the research was the elderly with hypertension at Puskesmas Ngoresan, Surakarta, male, aged ? 60 years, and literate. The 60 samples were taken using purposive sampling technique, which consist of 30 with hypertension and 30 without hypertension. Blood pressure was measured by using mercury sphygmomanometer. The assesment of cognitive function was done by using the Indonesian version of Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA-Ina). The data were analyzed using chi square and multiple logistic regression. Results: The result of analytic test between hypertension and cognitive impairment showed significant relation (OR = 7.59; CI 95% = 1.73 33.30; p = 0,007). There was significant relation between smoking activity and cognitive impairment (OR = 0.07; CI 95% = 0.01 0.40; p = 0.003). Level of education and hypertension duration showed non significant relation to cognitive impairment with each value is p = 0.059; p = 0.697. Conclusions: Hypertension is a factor that increases the risk of cognitive impairment and smoking is a factor that decreases the risk of cognitive impairment. Sampling had been done by fixed-disease sampling, and the selection was done by checking the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the study sample. Data was collected using questioner and independent interview to the respondent. Data obtained by 60 subjects and analyzed by Chi Square Test. Results: Based on the result of Chi Square test, there was a significant difference between the group of people with clean and health behavior in a household with the incidence of diarrhea, whereas the value of p (<0,001) < 0,05. Out of eight indicators, there are four indicators which have a significant correlation with the incidence of diarrhea, those are the use of clean water (p value <0,001), waste management (p value <0,001), use of floor (p value <0,001) and use of latrines (p value 0,042).
