Abstract

This study examines the impact of interactive learning media on the learning motivation of elementary school students through a systematic literature review. The problem underlying this study is the low utilization of interactive media in elementary education, which results in passive learning, limited student engagement, and declining motivation. The study aims to analyze types of effective interactive media, identify their influence on motivational aspects, and evaluate challenges in their implementation at the elementary school level. Using purposive sampling, this review synthesizes national journals, empirical studies, and educational literature published within the last ten years. The analysis shows that interactive media such as game based learning, interactive videos, simulations, augmented reality, and mobile learning applications significantly increase students’ attention, curiosity, confidence, satisfaction, and overall motivation. Visual stimulation, immediate feedback, and hands-on learning experiences make abstract concepts more concrete and meaningful. However, issues such as limited infrastructure, teacher digital competence, content quality, and classroom management challenges remain obstacles to optimal implementation. The study concludes that interactive media play a crucial role in enhancing intrinsic motivation and supporting active, student-centered learning. The findings highlight the need for continuous teacher training, equitable digital access, and contextually relevant media development to maximize the benefits of interactive learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The gap between the idealism of progressivism and the actual practice of deep learning in classrooms calls for a deeper empirical investigation. This study aims to describe the patterns of implementing deep learning principles within the framework of progressive education in elementary schools and to identify the challenges and strategies used to address them. An exploratory case study was conducted using semi-structured interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis as data collection techniques. The unit of analysis consisted of the principal, teachers, and students from an elementary school implementing the Kurikulum Merdeka, while data were analyzed inductively using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model. The findings reveal that the application of inquiry learning, project-based learning, and problem-based learning enhances students’ active engagement, conceptual understanding, and connection between learning materials and authentic experiences. However, variations in learning readiness, limited facilities, and curriculum demands pose major challenges that require adaptive instructional strategies and institutional support. Teachers address these constraints through differentiated instruction, authentic assessment, and professional collaboration. Overall, the study concludes that deep learning strengthens progressive educational practices at the elementary level and highlights the need for systemic support through continuous training, policy alignment, and adequate resources to ensure meaningful and sustainable learning experiences.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has led to an increase in gadget use among elementary school students, which raises concerns regarding its impact on children’s behavior and academic achievement. Excessive gadget use, particularly for non-educational purposes, is suspected to negatively affect students’ concentration, social interaction, emotional stability, and learning outcomes. This study aims to comprehensively analyze the effects of excessive gadget use on the behavior and academic performance of elementary school students. The research employs a literature review method by examining various relevant scientific articles, books, and previous studies published in recent years. Data were analyzed using content analysis to identify patterns and findings related to gadget use intensity, behavioral changes, and learning achievement. The results indicate that excessive gadget use is closely associated with decreased learning concentration, reduced motivation, declining social interaction, emotional instability, and a tendency toward individualistic behavior. In addition, prolonged and uncontrolled gadget use contributes to sleep disturbances, which further impacts students’ readiness and academic performance at school. However, several studies show that the negative impacts may be mitigated through parental supervision, appropriate time management, and the use of gadgets for educational purposes. In conclusion, excessive gadget use has significant negative effects on both behavior and academic performance of elementary school students, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts between parents, teachers, and schools to regulate and guide children’s gadget use more wisely.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Strategic Plan and Operational Plan in improving educational quality in the era of deep learning at one public elementary school in Tanah Laut Regency. The background of this research is the importance of strategic and operational planning as fundamental instruments to ensure schools remain adaptive, effective, and oriented toward meaningful learning in response to the demands of 21st-century education. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the implementation of Strategic Plan and Operational Plan supports school management, instructional leadership, and continuous quality improvement. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed through data triangulation to ensure validity and reliability. The findings reveal that the effective implementation of Strategic Plan and Operational Plan is strongly influenced by visionary and instructional leadership of the principal, participatory communication, collaborative school culture, systematic monitoring and evaluation, and efficient resource management. Furthermore, the integration of strategic planning with instructional practices encourages adaptive curriculum development, professional growth of teachers, and improved learning processes aligned with deep learning principles. Continuous monitoring and evaluation enable schools to identify challenges, improve program effectiveness, and sustain quality improvement. In conclusion, the implementation of Strategic Plan and Operational Plan supported by strong leadership and systematic evaluation significantly contributes to sustainable school quality improvement in the deep learning era.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools is often hampered by students' difficulty understanding non-concrete concepts. This situation requires the use of more diverse and interactive learning aids, one of which is PhET Simulation. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of PhET Simulation in influencing students' mathematics learning outcomes at the elementary school level. The method used was a literature study using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to relevant scientific articles published in the last five years. The findings of this study indicate that the use of PhET Simulation has a positive influence on the development of students' learning outcomes and understanding of mathematical concepts. In addition, the use of this media can also increase student participation and learning interest during the teaching process. Therefore, PhET Simulation can be an alternative choice of effective learning media to support mathematics learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Reading ability, or literacy, is a competency that students must master from elementary school because it can influence the learning process at the next level. However, some students still experience obstacles in reading due to a lack of interest in reading. The use of visual media is one way that can be used to help students, because it can provide interesting visual images and facilitate understanding of the content of the reading. In the literature review, the use of visual media in improving students' reading comprehension was carried out to identify fundamental concepts, learning strategies, and previous research results to demonstrate the effectiveness of using visual media in students' reading comprehension in elementary schools.

Abstract

This Systematic Literature Review aims to examine the effectiveness of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in enhancing numeracy skills among Elementary School (ES) students. The study is motivated by the low global numeracy literacy of Indonesian students and the dominance of conventional mathematics teaching methods. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), analyzing empirical research journals concerning RME and numeracy in ES published from 2018–2025. The synthesis results demonstrate that applying RME has a significant impact on improving students' numeracy literacy compared to conventional methods. RME is proven effective because it begins learning from realistic contexts, promotes active student involvement in guided reinvention, and links abstract concepts to daily life experiences. This improvement covers the ability to understand problem context, mathematical reasoning, and solving real-life problems. This review concludes that RME is a systematic and relevant learning strategy for strengthening ES students' numeracy, aligned with the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

Masalah pokok dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya kesenjangan penelitian (research gap) mengenai bagaimana analisis SWOT dapat diterapkan secara sistematis untuk menghasilkan strategi pengembangan sekolah yang realistis, terukur, dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi yang dilakukan kepala sekolah dalam menganalisis lingkungan internal dan eksternal sekolah berbasis analisis SWOT di SDN Sungai Pinang Baru 1. Metode penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus, yang dilakukan di SDN Sungai Pinang Baru 1, Kecamatan Sungai Tabuk, Kabupaten Banjar, dengan subjek penelitian melibatkan Kepala Sekolah, guru, dan komite sekolah. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen terkait. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan pengambilan kesimpulan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Kepala Sekolah secara efektif menggunakan kerangka SWOT untuk merumuskan langkah-langkah strategis, seperti peningkatan jumlah siswa dari 17 menjadi 37 melalui promosi inovatif, penggalangan dukungan komite dan orang tua, dan perbaikan fasilitas, meskipun menghadapi kelemahan seperti keterbatasan dana BOS dan tantangan lokasi pedesaan. Secara eksternal, peluang dimanfaatkan melalui penguatan keterlibatan komunitas dan kolaborasi, sembari mengantisipasi ancaman seperti persaingan sekolah, perubahan kebijakan, dan penurunan demografi. Simpulan menegaskan bahwa implementasi strategi berbasis SWOT di SDN Sungai Pinang Baru 1 menunjukkan bahwa dengan pemahaman mendalam terhadap kondisi internal dan eksternal, Kepala Sekolah dapat merumuskan kebijakan yang efektif, mendorong pertumbuhan berkelanjutan, dan meningkatkan mutu pendidikan, menekankan pentingnya kepemimpinan visioner dalam menghadapi tantangan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the levels and interrelationships among emotional intelligence, interpersonal communication, work motivation, and Organisational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) among teachers at State Middle Schools in East Banjarmasin District. Employing a quantitative, descriptive-correlational design, the study involved 149 respondents selected through proportional random sampling from a total population of 237 teachers across seven schools. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, path analysis, and the Sobel test. The results reveal significant direct effects of emotional intelligence (β = 0.260), interpersonal communication (β = 0.256), and work motivation (β = 0.310) on OCB. Emotional intelligence (β = 0.363) and interpersonal communication (β = 0.326) also significantly Influence work motivation. Furthermore, indirect effects were observed from emotional intelligence to OCB via work motivation (β = 0.112), and from interpersonal communication to OCB via work motivation (β = 0.101). The findings indicate that emotional intelligence and OCB are in the high category, while interpersonal communication and work motivation are in the moderate category. The study underscores the mediating role of work motivation in enhancing OCB and suggests that strengthening emotional and interpersonal competencies may promote positive organizational behaviour among teachers.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The SDi Platform is a digital platform recommended by the Department of Education with the aim of supporting educational transformation to meet the demands of the Society 5.0 era. The utilization of the SDi platform is integrated into daily school activities as a means of fostering students’ technological adaptation at the elementary school level. This study aims to examine how the implementation of the SDi platform supports educational transformation at SDN Pasar Lama 3 Banjarmasin. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, involving the school operator, principal, two teachers, and one student. The findings indicate that the SDi platform has a positive impact on educational activities in elementary schools; however, the implementation process also faces several challenges. The study further provides appropriate solutions, including comprehensive training programs, upgrading of school infrastructure, and the development of innovative platform features to enhance the effectiveness of digital education transformation.
