AbstractThe learning process that students do not only can be in the classroom can also be done outside or in the environment where they live. The environment around the students is also not far from the culture. Education and culture is something that can not in everyday life, because culture is unity and unity, apply in every society and education is a necessity for every individual in society. Currently the 2013 curriculum used is a very deep learning environment. In the textbook used is still a lot of language that must be understood students. The use of everyday language, language use is often interpreted as being able to speak in that language. More seriously here is defined as the ability to use symbols directly to communicate. The research used in this research is descriptive explorative research. The results obtained in this study are the mention of integers in the local language, the various units in the provision of ritual gear equipment, and the use of counting operations in the ritual activity of the device. all the results that can be integrated in mathematics learning. Keywords: Learning, Local Language, Etnomatematics

AbstractThe study aimed to determine the effect of applying the cooperative learning model of think pair share type on electrical circuits in improving student learning outcomes at MTs Mathla'ul Anwar Pontianak. This research was in the form of classroom action research with the sample taken using the intact group technique consisting of 29 students of class IX A. The data collection tool was a validated test of the question (the validity level of cycle I is 3.8 and cycle II is 3.9 in the medium category) and tested for reliability (treasonability 0.75 for the first cycle and 0.60 in the second cycle so that it was in the high category). Based on data analysis, it was obtained the level of class completeness in the first cycle of 86.20% and 79.31% in the second cycle. Besides the level of learning implementation 78.3% in the first cycle of the first meeting, 75.0% in the second cycle of the second meeting and 100% in the second cycle. Thus the cooperative learning model of the think pair shared can improve student learning outcomes about electrical circuits at MTs Mathla'ul Anwar Pontianak. Keywords: Electrical Circuit, Learning Outcomes, Think Pair Share.

AbstractMathematical communication skills are contained in Minister of Education and Culture Regulation (Permendikbud) Number 20 of 2016 concerning Competency Standards for Primary and Secondary Education Graduates. Through mathematical communication skills students can explain mathematical concepts in the form of numbers, images and or symbols using oral and written communication. That is, mathematical communication skills needed by students to be able to communicate their conceptual understanding. Instead, conceptual understanding is needed by students to be able to communicate mathematically. This study aims to describe the mathematical communication skills studied from the conceptual understanding of class VIII students at SMPN 12 Sungai Ambawang Kab. Kubu Raya, West Kalimantan Province. The research method used is descriptive in the form of case studies. Retrieval of data using tests and interviews. The subjects in this study consisted of 27 students who were divided into high, medium and low conceptual understanding levels. The results of data analysis show that students with high conceptual understanding have good mathematical communication skills. Students with conceptual understanding are having good mathematical communication skills. Students with low conceptual understanding have poor mathematical communication skills.  Keywords: Mathematics Communication, Conceptual Understanding, SetÂ

AbstractThis research aims to know the influence of the application of the POE (predict, observe, explain) learning model to remediate misconception of students on the material light reflection in junior high 23 State of Pontianak. The form of this research is pre-experimental design with one- group pre test post- test design. This research involves 28 students IX as sample that selected by intact group. The tool collecting data in the form of diagnostic tests in the form of multiple choice accompanied by a reason. Average change of misconception for all Mc Nemar test based on the question of the obtained results of χ2hitung > χ2tabel (3.84), then a change occurred after significant student misconceptions implemented remediation. In addition, the effectiveness of remediation using a model learning POE using the formula obtained price proportion to decrease the amount of misconception (0.59). So conclusion remediation using a model learning POE influential in reducing the misconception of students on the material reflection of light. The result of this research are expected to be an alternative in an attempt to remediate misconception that experienced students. Keywords: Remediation, Misconception, POE (predict, observe, explain) Learning Model, Material Light Reflection

AbstractThis study aims to find out the ability of visual thinking in the translation of representation of students who have high, medium and low mathematical abilities for trigonometric comparison material in XI IPA SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. The research method used in this research is descriptive method. The research subjects were 9 students from class XI IPA 1. The subjects of this study were determined based on students' mathematical grades and the consideration of mathematics teachers. The results of data analysis show that students with high mathematical abilities already have visual thinking abilities in translational representation, whereas students with moderate and low mathematical abilities do not yet have these abilities. Students with high mathematical ability have been able to meet all indicators of visual thinking ability in translational representation, while students with moderate mathematical ability have not been able to meet the indicators showing & telling and students with low mathematical ability have not been able to meet the indicators of imagining and showing & telling. Overall, the ability to visual thinking in the translation of representation of students XI IPA SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak is still relatively low. AbstractThe research goal is to know the effectivity of the implementation of direct instruction model by using the virtual laboratory to the learning result on momentum and impulse topic of 10th grade student of SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak. The form of this research is experimental research and the method is quasi experimental design with the nonequivalent control group design. This research was involved by 24 students from 10th grade MIPA 4 and 18 students from 10th grade MIPA1 with the intact group technique. The research instrument is the test result that consists from 10 multiple choice questions and 2 essays. The result analysis from pretest and posttest showed that there was significant change of the learning result that was proven by 25,85% changes on the control class and 50.8% on the experiment class. There was a significant learning result between the implementation of direct instruction with the virtual laboratory and without virtual laboratory. The implementation of direct instruction model by utilizing the virtual laboratory is effective to improve the learning result on momentum and impulse topic with score of 3,25 effect size which is considered as high. Â Keyword: Implementation, direct instruction, virtual laboratory, learningresult, momentum and impulse.
