This study aimed to develop learning tools on business and energy materials based on project based learning models that are suitable for use in learning. This research was a development research by 4Ddevelopment model design consisting of 4 stages, namely: define; design, develop, and disseminate. This research was only up to the stage of development. Based on the results of validation by experts, the development of learning tools in this study was valid. The percentage of validity was 87.5% on the syllabus; 87.5% on the lesson plan implementation; and 82.5% on student worksheets. Based on the results, the development of learning tools in this study is feasible to use with revisions to the student worksheet because it has quite valid criteria.

Writing skills is one of four skills that a student learns in language. Writing is a language skill with the last sequence studied by the learner. Writing in pairs is a strategy which is applied in writing. The aims of writing in pairs in learning are students and their partners can work together to get unite ideas owned by each student. This study was conducted to see how the use of writing in pairs strategy in learning writing that viewed from students perception whose results can be used as a reference for improvement in learning writing skills. The data were taken from the Essay Writing class in the English Language Education Study Program of FKIP Bung Hatta University by giving questionnaires to the students after they have studied three times of writing learning experience with writing in pairs strategy or pair work. The results showed that students were happy with the paired work strategy in writing activities. Working in pairs, learners find that it is easier to come up with an idea so that the boring writing activity is turning into a more fun activity.

In this writing, the writer uses descriptive research as the method of collecting the data. As for the data analysis method, after determining the theory obtained from the related book, the formulation of the problem is analyzed using the theory of psychology. By using the theory of Sigmund Freud, the characters in the drama are then further analyzed to understand the shape, causes and consequences of a conflict. Higher-order thinking skill is closely related to literacy skills. However, data from PIRLS 2011 states that the reading ability of elementary school students in Indonesia is relatively low because it is ranked 42 out of 45 countries. Data from PISA 2018, Indonesia ranked 74 out of 76 countries. Though literacy skill influences mindset. The purpose of this study is to explain: a) the basic concepts of literacy, b) the basic concepts of High Order Thinking Skills, and c) the literacy skill to improve high order thinking skills in elementary school students. The approach used in this study is qualitative. The research method used is content analysis. The data sources are journals and books related to literacy and high order thinking skills. The results of this study are: first, literacy is the ability to interpret information critically and can convey knowledge to others accurately. Second, higher-order thinking skills is the process of thinking students at a higher level of knowledge from various cognitive concepts such as analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and creation. Third, literacy skills improve higher-order thinking. The strategies used by schools include conditioning literacy-friendly physical environments, seeking social and affective situations as literate models of communication and interaction, and striving schools as a literate academic environments.

Teaching material is one important factor that influences the effectiveness of the learning process. The purpose of this research is to develop teaching materials that have been tested for validity and are suitable for use and to test whether the use of teaching materials that have been developed can increase the value of learning outcomes. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) research with reference to the development of Four D (4 D) which includes Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. The research subjects are the fourth semester students taking Physics learning strategy courses. Improved learning outcomes in the test using the Normalized N-Gain test. The results showed that the teaching materials of learning strategies that have been developed have been tested for validity and are feasible to be used, while the N-Gain test results show that 0.67% is in the medium category level and an increase in student learning outcomes.

This study aims to determine (1) the effect of CUPS learning model and direct learning, scientific approach, CUPS learning models and direct learning with the scientific approach to the activities and learning outcomes. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a 2x2 factorial design. The population is all students of grade X MIPA SMAN 1 Praya Tengah. Sampling using purposive sampling techniques consisting of students of class X MIPA 2 as the experimental class and class X MIPA 3 as the control class. Data obtained through tests of learning outcomes and learning activity through observation. Data were analyzed using Manova analysis. The results showed that (1) there are differences in learning activities and learning outcomes among students which taught by CUPS learning model and learners that taught by direct learning model; (2) there are significant scientific approach to the activity and learning outcomes; (3) there is interaction between the CUPS learning model with the scientific approach and direct learning with the scientific approach toward learning outcomes; and no interaction on learning activities.

This development research aims to produce a product in the form of a discovery learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills in physics. The research design used is the 4D model which consists of define, design, develop and disseminate. Products developed in the form of a syllabus, lesson plans (RPP), material analysis, student worksheets (LKPD), and test instruments in the form of description questions. Data collection techniques using validation sheets and questions. The validity data were analyzed by determining the final mean value (NA) of the expert validators and practitioners. The improvement of critical thinking skills is analyzed using standard gain from the results before and after the learning process. Data validity results show that the learning device developed is at a very valid level with a final average value of 3.48 so that the developed device is suitable for use in learning. The data on the reliability results of the learning tools developed with an average value of 93.21% were included in the reliable category. The ability to think critically with discovery learning models has increased with a gain value of 0.38. Based on the results of these data, it can be concluded that the discovery learning model that was developed is effective to improve students' critical thinking skills in physics. Keywords: Learning tools, discovery learning model, critical thinking skills in physics
