ABSTRACTThis research were based on the lack of students’ activity and students’ understanding of mathematical concept that still low. This research aims to know the students’ activities and students’ understanding of mathematical concept by implementing the One to One strategy in class VIII of SMPN 7 Lubuk Basung. This was an experimental research. The population was students’ class VIII of SMPN 7 Lubuk Basung. The experimental class was VIII.I and the control class was VIII.2. The Instrument of the research were observation form for the students’ activities and the final tes for the students’ understanding of mathematical concept. During the process of teaching by implementing One to One strategy, the students’ activities increase. The technique of data analysis was t-test one way and the result is  = 5,95 and = 1,69. Because > it can be concluded that students’ understanding of mathematical concept by implementing  One to One strategy was better than students’ understanding of mathematical concept by implementing conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 7 Lubuk Basung.

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted due to the students’ less confident in expressing their ideas and answering questions given. In addition, the students having low ability had less interest in searching for information and asking questions to those who had higher ability. This research was aimed at revealing whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using The Power of Two active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning. This research is experimental research which research design is randomized on subject.  Population is student in the class VIII SMPN 9 Padang. The instrument used is examinations with reliabiliti 0,73. Based on the result of data analysis it was found that the value of tcalculated 5,34 was higher than ttable 1,645 with α = 0,05, so it can concloded that mathematical conceptual understanding ability by using The Power of Two strategy is better than student’s by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 9 Padang

ABSTRACT The research was conducted based on the fact which indicated the low students’ comprehension about mathematical concept and the low students’ motivation to think during the learning process in the VIII grade students of SMPN 26 Padang. The purpose of the research was to know whether the VIII grade students’ comprehension in mathematical concept treated by Domino Game strategy was better than the students’ comprehension treated by conventional strategy. This was an experimental research which used random sampling. The instrument used was the post test. The hypothesis testing showed that t-obtained (2.332) was bigger than t-table (1.67). Thus, it can be concluded that the students’ treated by Domino Game strategy had better comprehension of mathematical concept than those who treated by the conventional learning.

ABSTRACT The background of this research was by the lack of student participation in teaching learning process grouply. The student did not have an effort to practise individually, the students understanding of mathematical concept still low.  It can be seen at the result students mathematic at the eight grade of student SMPN 17 Padang 2013 / 2014. This was an experimental reseach, applied random to subjek. The population was eight grade student of SMPN 17 Padang 2013 / 2014, consist of eight class. Technique of data collection was random, VIII-7 as experimental and VIII-8 as control class. Instrument in this research was understanding of mathematical concept in essay form. Based on the data analisys known that both of class homogeneous and have normal distribution. The hypothesis was accepted. Can concluded that understanding of mathematical concept by applied active lerning The Firing Line  type better than appllied conventional learning at the eight grade students SMPN 17 Padang. ÂÂ

ABSTRACT This research was carried out due to the students’ low understanding of mathematical concept in class VIII of SMPN 2 Padang. This research was intended to reveal the development of the students’ understanding of mathematical concept by using True Or False Statement active learning strategy an to see whether the mathematical conceptual understanding of the student taugh by using True Or False Statement active learning strategy was better than that of student taught by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 26 Padang. The instrument of the research were a quiz and a posttest. The data gotten was analyzed by using   t-test assisted with software MINITAB. Based on the result of dat a analysis, it was figured out that p-value was smaller than a indicating that the mathematical conceptual understanding of the students taught by using True Or False Statement active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning.

ABSTRACTThis research was designed for revealing whether understanding of mathematical concept by Guided Teaching active learning strategy was better than that by using conventional learning in class VIII of MTsN Talaok Bayang. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. In collecting the data, an essay test on the conceptual understanding was used. The data collected was analyzed by using t-test. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that the two sample classes were normally distributed and homogenous. the result of hypothesis test showed that the understanding of mathematical concepts by Guided teaching active learning strategy was better than that by using conventional learning in class VIII of MTsN Talaok Bayang

ABSTRACTThis research was based on the students’ low understanding of mathematical concept. This resulted in the students’ understanding of mathematical concept embedded optimally yet one good alternative to overcome these problems in mathematics learning strategies used The Power Of Two. This study aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concept by using active learning strategies The Power Of Two with quiz was better than the students understanding of mathematical concept using conventional learning in class VII SMPN 5 Padang. The design used was random against subject. With population of all VII grade students SMPN 5 Padang. Sample were taken at random. VII4 classroom experiments and VII5 selected as the control class. Research instruments are quizzed and final test in the form of an essay. From the analysis of test data and the understanding of concept normally distributed homogeneously. Based on the analysis result, the average student learning outcomes experimental class 98.42 higher than the control class is 82.81. From the hypothesis done t table obtained was less than the calculed. So it can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concept by using active learning strategies The Power Of Two with Quiz was better than the students understanding of mathematical concept using conventional in class VII SMPN 5 Padang.ÂÂ

ABSTRACTThis research was motivated by the students understanding of mathematical concepts was still low. This study aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying Bisnis Berisiko Technique than students understanding of mathematical concepts with the application of conventional learning. This was an experimental research which used Pre-Experimental Design: Static Group Comparison. The population of the research was the students in class VIII of MTsN Durian Tarung Padang registered in academic year 2013/2014. The instrument of the research was a posttest. The data collected was analyzed by using software MINITAB. The result of the research showed that the average score of the students in the experimental group was 54,01 and in the control class was 28,44. The result of the t-test indicated that the hypothesis was accepted. Based on these results, it was concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying Bisnis Berisiko Technique was better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning in class VIII of MTsN Durian Tarung Padang. ÂÂ

ABSTRACT This research was conducted based on the facts showing that the students understanding on mathematical concept was still low and they were not accustomed to be involved in a discussion in class VIII of SMPN 8 Bukittinggi. This research was intended to see whether the use of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) strategy with quiz could improve the students’ understanding on mathematical concept better than that of the conventional learning. This was an experimental research which used random toward subject design. The instruments of the research were a quiz and a test on mathematical conceptual understanding. Based on the result of data analysis, it was revealed that the sample was normally distributed and homogeny. The result of hypothesis by examining t showed that P-value was less than α. This result indicated that the use of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) strategy with quiz could improve the students’ understanding on mathematical concept was better than that of the conventional learning.ÂÂ

The purpose of this research is to describe the implementation of Polya phase that can improve student learning outcomes in solving word problems about rectangular in VII A SMP Negeri 19 Palu. This type of research is a classroom action research. Plan of this research is based of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. Based on the result of the research learning to use Polya phase can increase the student’s learning outcomes to solving the word problem about rectangular in VII A SMP Negeri 19 Palu, those are: 1) understanding the proble; 2) devising plan, 3) carrying out the plan;and 4) looking back at a complete solution.
