ABSTRACTThis research was based on the the students’ low understanding of mathematical concept and the studens still not  commonly involved in problem solving. The purpose of this research wasto know what are the student’s understanding of mathematical concept by usingPBI learningbetter than student’s understanding of mathematical concept by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The research population was a class X student of MAN Kajai Kec. Talamau Kab. Pasaman Barat. Sample of the research was X.A as experimental class and X.B as control class. The instrument used is an essay test with reliability 0,96. The techniques of data analysis were done to used the t-test a side. Based on analysis result Tvaluewas 1,792 and Ttable was 1,710 then the hypothesis in this research was accepted. Therefore it was concluded that the students’ understanding of mathematical concept by usingPBI  learning better than the students’ understanding of mathematical concept by using conventional learning in class X MAN Kajai Kec. Talamau Kab. Pasaman Barat

AbstractThe research was basic on  the teacher as a center of learning process. The students had low motivated to ask the questions and gave their reason to the materials.The goal of this research was to determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts with the application by using active learning strategies LSQ was better than comprehension mathematical concepts by applying Conventional Teaching of second year students at SMPN 16 Sijunjung. In this research, the researcher used experimental method. The population of this research was the second year students of SMPN 16 Sijunjung. It was chosen by using random sampling technique, the experimental class was VIII2 students and the control class was VIII1 students. The instrument of the research was the final test with indicator of comprehension mathematical concepts in the form of essay with a 0.93 reliability test. The data analysis technique used is t-test. The result of this research processed with t-test was obtained tcount = 4.28 and  ttable = 1.677 It can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concepts by using active learning strategies LSQ type was better than students comprehension of mathematical concepts by using conventional learning second grade students of SMPN 16 Sijunjung.ÂÂ

ABSTRACT This research was conducted based on the fact indicating that the students’ understanding on mathematic concept was still low, the students seemed to be less active and unable to complete the tasks given by themselves. The aim of this research was to improve the students’ activity and understanding on mathematic concept by using Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) strategy in class VIII of SMPN 2 Painan. This was an experimental research whose sample was chosen by random. The instruments of the research were observation sheets and a test on the students’ understanding on mathematic  concept. The result of the research revealed that after the strategy applied, the students’ activity improved, and their understanding on mathematic  concept was better than that of students treating by using conventional learning strategy. This could be seen from the P-Value (0,038) which was smaller than α, Thus it was concluded that the use of TAPPS strategy could improve the students’ understanding on mathematic concept better than that of the conventional learning.ÂÂ

                                                       ABSTRACT              This research was based on opinions of the students that mathematical was a difficult, boring lesson. This was supported by the fact that their understanding of mathematical concept was still low. The purpose of the research was to study whether students understanding of  mathematical concept by using Course Review Horay active learning method was better than understanding of mathematical concept by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The instrument of the research was an essay posttest whose reliability was 0,83. Based on the result of hypothesis testing, it is found that tcount is 1,85 and ttable is 1,645,  so tcount > ttable then the hypothesis is accepted. It can be conclude that the students understanding of mathematical concept by using Course Review Horay active learning method was better than understanding of mathematical concept by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 18 Padang.ÂÂ

ABSTRACTThe research was conducted based on the fact which indicated the students low motivation to rehearse the learning material which emerged the students difficulties to do the mathematical questions. The purpose of this research was to know whether the students treated by college ball strategy have better comprehension of mathematical concept than those who are treated by conventional strategy. This was an experimental research which used random sampling. The population was the VIII grade students of MTSN Talaok Bayang. The VIII.5 was the experimental class while the VIII.3 class was the control class. The instrument was final test. The hypotheses was tested by one tailed test. It was found that t-obtained > t-table. Thus,it can be concluded that the students treated by college ball strategy had better mathematical comprehension than those who treated the conventional strategy.

ABSTRACT The research was conducted because of less confidence of student in giving question and opinion on learning process, less of teamwork in learning and low ability in understanding of mathematical concept it was shown by learning outcome of student on eight grades Junior High School 9 Padang. This research was aimed to find out whether students’ understanding of mathematical concept used cooperative learning type Roving Group teachnique will be better than used conventional learning on eight grades Junior High School 9 Padang. The research was an experiment study of the subject with a random design. The population was all student in eight grades whom were registered in academic year 2013/2014. Based on analysis of data obtained by the average results of the students’ understanding of mathematical concept experiment class was 80.69 it was higher than the result of control class which was 58,61. Thus, it can be concluded that understanding of mathematical concept of eight grades student in Junior High School 9 Padang used cooperative learning type Roving Group technique was better than used conventional learning.

ABSTRACTThis research were based on the lack of students’ activity and students’ understanding of mathematical concept that still low. This research aims to know the students’ activities and students’ understanding of mathematical concept by implementing the One to One strategy in class VIII of SMPN 7 Lubuk Basung. This was an experimental research. The population was students’ class VIII of SMPN 7 Lubuk Basung. The experimental class was VIII.I and the control class was VIII.2. The Instrument of the research were observation form for the students’ activities and the final tes for the students’ understanding of mathematical concept. During the process of teaching by implementing One to One strategy, the students’ activities increase. The technique of data analysis was t-test one way and the result is  = 5,95 and = 1,69. Because > it can be concluded that students’ understanding of mathematical concept by implementing  One to One strategy was better than students’ understanding of mathematical concept by implementing conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 7 Lubuk Basung.

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted due to the students’ less confident in expressing their ideas and answering questions given. In addition, the students having low ability had less interest in searching for information and asking questions to those who had higher ability. This research was aimed at revealing whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using The Power of Two active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning. This research is experimental research which research design is randomized on subject.  Population is student in the class VIII SMPN 9 Padang. The instrument used is examinations with reliabiliti 0,73. Based on the result of data analysis it was found that the value of tcalculated 5,34 was higher than ttable 1,645 with α = 0,05, so it can concloded that mathematical conceptual understanding ability by using The Power of Two strategy is better than student’s by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 9 Padang

ABSTRACT The research was conducted based on the fact which indicated the low students’ comprehension about mathematical concept and the low students’ motivation to think during the learning process in the VIII grade students of SMPN 26 Padang. The purpose of the research was to know whether the VIII grade students’ comprehension in mathematical concept treated by Domino Game strategy was better than the students’ comprehension treated by conventional strategy. This was an experimental research which used random sampling. The instrument used was the post test. The hypothesis testing showed that t-obtained (2.332) was bigger than t-table (1.67). Thus, it can be concluded that the students’ treated by Domino Game strategy had better comprehension of mathematical concept than those who treated by the conventional learning.

ABSTRACT The background of this research was by the lack of student participation in teaching learning process grouply. The student did not have an effort to practise individually, the students understanding of mathematical concept still low.  It can be seen at the result students mathematic at the eight grade of student SMPN 17 Padang 2013 / 2014. This was an experimental reseach, applied random to subjek. The population was eight grade student of SMPN 17 Padang 2013 / 2014, consist of eight class. Technique of data collection was random, VIII-7 as experimental and VIII-8 as control class. Instrument in this research was understanding of mathematical concept in essay form. Based on the data analisys known that both of class homogeneous and have normal distribution. The hypothesis was accepted. Can concluded that understanding of mathematical concept by applied active lerning The Firing Line  type better than appllied conventional learning at the eight grade students SMPN 17 Padang. ÂÂ
