The introduction of this research was the low of studentsâ understanding of mathematical concept and low of students activities. The purposes of this research was to determine studentsâ understanding of mathematical concept and students activities by applying active learning type instant assessment was better than studentsâ understanding of mathematical concept and students activities by applying conventional teaching class VIII of SMPN 25 Padang. Design of this research was experimental research random on the subject. The populations in this study was student of class VIII, the sample was class VIII.10 as the exsperimental class and the control class VIII.6. instruments in this study was a observation sheet and final test with essay. Data analysis was performed with the MINITABâS program obtained p-value was less than α, the hyphothesis was accepted. It can be concluded the studentsâ understanding of mathematical concept and students activities by inplementing active learning type instant assessment better than studentsâ understanding mathematical concept and students activities by applying conventional teaching class VIII SMPN 25 Padang.

Studentâs comprehension of mathematical concept is relatively low for conducting this research. Purpose of this research to determine the students comprehension of mathematical concept by implementing cooperative learning model Snowball Throwing better than students comprehension of mathematical concept that apply to convention teaching of eightth grade student of Junior High School 17 Padang. This type of research is experimental research. The research population was a student of eightth grade at Junior High School 17 Padang. Sampling technique was randomly, selected class is the class VIII1, as experimental class and the class VIII2 as control class. Instrument used is final test with indicator concept of comprehension form of the test used is essaywith totaling 9 item question. Data were analyzed by using a normality test, homogeny test, and t test. Based on the analysis of data obtained by the average result of the students comprehension of mathematical concept experimental was 87.30 and 68.04 the control class student. Hypothesis testing using one side of t-test with MINITAB software, acquired P-value less than , so it can be concluded that the student comprehension of mathematical concept by applying cooperative learning model Snowball Throwing better than student comprehension of mathematical concept that applying conventional learning on student eightth grade at Junior High School 17 Padang.

The comprehension in mathematics concept for students is still low becomes a basic of this research. The purpose of this research is to know what is the comprehension of mathematic concept for cooperatif learning type Pair Kancing Gemerincing better than for implementation of convensional learningâs students for grade VIII MTsN Subang Anak Kabupaten Tanah Datar. The type of this research is experimental research by using random planning focused on subject. The populations are students in grade VIII MTsN Subang Anak Kabupaten Tanah datar, which consist of five classes. Moreover, sample of this research is taken by random, VIII3 is for experimental class and VIII2 is for control class. The instrument of this research is the comprehension of mathematics concept test. The techniques of data analysis is using t test for one group by software MINITAB is got P-value < , so this hyphothesis is accepted. In conclusion, the comprehension of mathematics concept for implemented convensional learningâs students. The background of this research was studentsâ ability in sharing information, not only theory but also less of discussion the exercise with other student optimal and the lack of the studentsâ understanding of mathematical concept. The research aimed to determine studentsâ understanding of mathematical concept by applying strategy of active learning type Practice-Rehearsal Pairs with quizzes better than the studentsâ understanding of mathematical concept with conventional learning grade VIII SMPN 1 Patamuan Padang Pariaman regency and to analysis the effectiveness of strategy of active learning type Practice-Rehearsal Pairs with quizzes in learning mathematics. It was an experimental research with the design random on the subject. Instrument used was an essay test and questionnaire which already validated. Hypothesis testing which was used by one side of t test with program MINITAB 14, in which p-value 0,003 smaller than α 0,05 it mean that the alternative hypothesis was accepted. It can be concluded that the studentsâ understanding of mathematical concept with strategy of active learning types Practice-Rehearsal Pairs with quizzes better than by applying conventional learning.

This research was conducted based on the phenomena indicating that the teachers did not seem to have their students study in a group and were not likely to challenge them in the form of group competition. Therefore, the students were not willing to share what they have already learned with others and this condition made their understanding on mathematical concept became unsatisfactory. This could be seen from the learning achievement of the first year students of SMPN 4 Ranah Pesisir in math in Academic Year 2012/2013. This research was aimed at revealing the use of Learning Tournament active learning strategy gave better effect on the studentsâ understanding on mathematical concept than that of conventional learning strategy in class VIII of SMPN 4 Ranah Pesisir in Academic Year 2013/2014. This was an experimental research which used random research design toward the subject. The population of the research was all of students in class VIII of SMPN 4 Ranah Pesisir in Academic Year 2013/2014 which was divided into two classes. By using random sampling technique, class VIII2 was chosen as the experimental class and class VIII1 was as the control class. The instrument of the research was an essay post-test whose reliability was 0.83. The result of data analysis showed that p-value < α, thus the hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, the use of Learning Tournament active learning strategy improved the studentsâ understanding on mathematical concept better than that of conventional learning strategy.

The research was due to the fact that most students were not used to have a discussion and share knowledge with the peers. Moreover, they had lack of understanding mathematical concept which could be seen from the mathematic result of grade VII students SMPN 9 Sijunjung. The research aimed at describing students activities and understanding how far the students of grade VIII SMPN 9 understood the mathematic concept using corporate identity technique with a quiz, whether it was better than conventional learning. The design was experimental research using random sampling technique. The population was students of grade VIII SMPN 9 Sijunjung. Based on the result of random sampling technique, grade VIII2 was chosen as the experimental group, while the grade VIII3 as the control group. The instrument used was observation sheet and essay mathematic test. The reliability of the test was . Based on the analysis of observation sheet, there was an improvement of students activities during the teaching and learning process and the data analysis obtained was distributed homogeny and normal. The technique analysis data used was one way t test. Based on the analysis of hypothesis using MINITAB, it was obtained that the p-value was less than . Therefore, it can be concluded the student understanding of mathematical concept using corporate identity technique with a quiz was better than conventional learning at grade VIII SMPN 9 Sijunjung.

The background of this research by students learning motivation and comprehension of mathematical concept was low. It could be seen from studentsâdemotivated in learning mathematic and also most of them did not do their exercises. One way to solve this problem was by implementing active learning strategy of Learning Tournament type. The purpose of this rese was by implementing active learning strategy of Learning Tournament type. The purpose of this research was answering the research question whether implementing active learning strategy of Learning Tournament type gave better improvement in studentsâ learning motivation and studentsâ comprehension of mathematical concept than by using conventional learning strategy. This strategy applied to student Grade VIII SMPN 5 Koto XI Tarusan. The type of this research was experimental research. The population in this research was the students grade VIII SMPN 5 Koto XI Tarusan year 2013/2014. The technique in choosing research sample was random sampling technique, which chose class VIII.3 as an experimental class VIII.1 as a control class. The instrument in this research was questionnaire and final tes. Questioner was used to see the differentiation of motivation score in the questioner which given in the beginning of the research and in questioner which given in the end of the research. Then, researcher also used final test by using comprehension of the concept as the indicator. The technique of data analysis was t test which was analyzed by using MINITAB. Based on the data analysis, it was known that two sample had normal disrtributions and homogenizes and hypothesis test shown P-value was last them <ð¼. So, hypothesis could be accepted. In conclusion, comprehension of mathematic concept of students Grade VIII SMPN 5 Koto XI Tarusan which was taught by using active learning strategy og Learning Tournament type got better improvement than their comprehension of mathematical concept by using conventional.

Background of this research based on studentsâ understanding of mathematical concepts was lack at grade IX SMPN 1 Bayang. This case was expected because of the learning process was centered on the teacher, students are not accustomed to discuss and construct knowledge during the learning process. One way to overcome this problem was implemented an active learning strategy Group To Group. This study aims to determine students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategy Group To Group.  Active learning strategy Group To Group was better than studentsâ understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning class IX students of SMPN 1 Bayang. This research was experimental research, with design of randomized trials on the subject. The population in this study was class IX SMPN 1 Bayang Academic Year 2013/2014. Sampling technique was randomly, one class be experimental class IX.2 and another class be control IX.4. The instrument of this research was final test with indicator concept understanding. The technique of data analysis was t-test formula with MINITAB. Based on data analysis was known both of classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples and the result of hypothesis test used obtained P-value < α, so hypothesis research was accepted. Inconclusion students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategy Group To Group was better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning class IX studentsâ of SMPN 1 Bayang in Academic Year 2013/2014.

The introduction of this research  by the lack of studentâs mathematical problem solving. It can be supported by the result of examination of students SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan academic year 2012/2013, based on the percentage of studentâs succeed in the first semester. Furthermore this research has purpose to find out mathematical in problem solving at eightth the grade of SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan by using cooperative learning strategy type Snowball Throwing is better than use conventional strategy.The design of this research is experiment. It seems that there are experiment and control class. Sample at this research took the population as all of eightth grade SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan students and the sample was VIII4 as experiment and VIII3 as control class. The instrument use here was a essay form and the reliabilitytest was 0,63. The result of hypothesis testing with one side oft test, at hypothesis the ttest greater than ttable,it can be concluded that students mathematical in problem solving use Snowball Throwing us better than conventional strategy at class student of eightth grade of SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan.

The research was motivated by student comprehension mathematical concept was low, and the smart students  didnât want to share their knowledge with other students, so the  result in learning mathematic class of students  X SMAN 1 Canduang was low in academic year 2012/2013 . The purpose of this research to find out whether students comprehension mathematical concept by implementing cooperative learning model TPS was better than of used comprehension mathematical concept with conventional learning in class X SMAN 1 Canduang. The type of research was experimental research, the design of randomized trials on the subject . The population of this research was students of class X of SMAN 1 Canduang 2012/2013 academic year consisting of four classes. The ttechnique was random sampling , the sample was selected as the class, as a class experiment X3 and X2 as the control class . The instrument used in this study was written test essay form with reliability 0.72. The data of tests students in comprehension mathematical concepts was derived from the results of the final test comprehension mathematical concept. Based on the results of a quantitative analysis , the test of data to comprehension mathematical concepts , it is known that the two classes were normally distributed and the sample was not homogeneous on the real level α was 0.05 . Hypothesis was testing using the t test of the parties, obtained t was 5.354, so the research hypothesis was accepted . It can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning model TPS was better  than students to comprehension mathematical concepts with conventional teaching class X SMAN 1 Canduang.
