This study is aimed at find out the students? learning strategies in English communication.Due to the learning strategies, the researcher applied qualitative method. In collecting the data the researcher used three procedures; interviewing recording and noting. Then the data was analyzed in three ways; data redaction, data display, and conclusion. The subject consists of 40 students from fifth semester. Finally, the researcher found that the strategies that the students used in learning communication are good. It means that the strategies may help them to improve their abilities in doing communication by English. It can be seen at finding of this study (chapter IV). The students? communication ability improves together with the process of teaching and learning in the class. There are some strategies that they used; confirmation check, clarification check, comprehension check, self-repetition. Through these strategies their mistake and also their selves-confident in expressing their ideas is better than before.

This study is aimed to prove that building students? (MTs NW Tegal) abilities in English is easy. It can be proved from the analysis results before and after the research conducted. The early observation results show that the subject (students class II b) found any difficulties in expressing their ideas by using English. It is proved when they are demanded to introduce themselves, ask and answer the questions. To solve the problem the researcher applied classroom-environment approach. This research was conducted as long as one semester. The processes were started by doing the early observation and pre-test, then continued with teaching-learning process, and ended post-test. Reording was used to collect the data of the study. The recording was analyzed in three procedures, reduction, display and conclusion. The analysis results prove that the students? abilities in speaking change significant.

This Action Research has been conducted to see how interview and joke are effective in solving the students? speaking difficulties at MTs AL-Muslimun NW Tegal. This research is aimed at conducting an enjoy strategy to teach speaking. This research have been conducted since March 2015, it is done in four procedures in giving the treatment; planning, action, observing and reflecting. Then, pre-test and post-test are also the applied in collecting the data. Meanwhile, the students consists two classes A and B, each class there are 23 students. B class was chosen as the sample. They are chosen because of a reason: the students do not have motivation to learn English. It is proved with the findings in pre-test, most of them in answering and expressing their ideas got a lot of mistaken and do not know what to do. After the treatment done, the significant change happen. It could be seen from the finding at post-test, most of them in understanding and answering the question they got better. It also proved with their pronunciation, vocabularies, fluent and accuracy getting better and better. It means that the interview and joke is one of the method teaching and learning good to be applied. This analyzing is temporarily dealing with the findings; it will be completed at the final report.

Material fiberglass masih menjadi alternatif dalam pembuatan kapal di Indonesia, hal ini terlihat dari banyaknya kapal ikan berbahan fiberglass pesanan KKP pada tahun 2016. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan tinjaun sejauh mana penerapan aturan klasisfikasi pada proses produksi pembangunan kapal ikan 3 GT dengan melakukan pengujian kuat tarik dan kuat tekuk terhadap spesimen laminasi kapal ikan FRP 3 GT yang diambil dari dua galangan yang sedang membangun kapal ikan pesanan Kementrian Kelautan dan Perikanan (KKP) tahun 2016, dimana proses pembangunannya mengacu pada persyaratan pengujian dalam Biro Klasikasi Indonesia (BKI) tahun 2015, yang memakai International Standard (ISO) 527-4 (1997) untuk uji tarik, dan ISO 14125 (1998) untuk uji bending. Spesimen yang akan di uji masing-masing diambil dari bagian lunas (keel), alas (bottom) dan sisi (side). Secara keseluruhan hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi dari laminasi struktur konstruksi yang pada penerapanya tidak memenuhi dari aturan klasifiaksi dan juga memeberikan alterbatif susunan laminasi optimal untuk diterapkan dalam pembangunan kapal ikan 3 GT berbahan fiberglass. Penelitian ini juga nantinya dapat berkonstribusi dalam penyususnan standarisasi untuk kapal-kapal fiber berukuran kecil.

Gedung perkantoran X di Jakarta dalam mengolah air limbah telah memiliki sarana pengolahan air limbah berupa IPAL dengan menggunakan teknologi lumpur aktif dan proses biofilter serta penambahan disinfektan untuk membunuh mikroorganisme. Seiring berjalannya waktu kondisi operasional IPAL kurang optimal dan sudah tidak berfungsi dengan baik sehingga air olahan IPAL tidak memenuhi baku mutu air limbah domestik sehingga perlu dilakukan evaluasi terhadap IPAL yang ada. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah melakukan evaluasi kinerja dari IPAL Gedung Perkantoran X. Dari hasil survei dilapangan menunjukan bahwa beberapa unit operasi IPAL seperti airlive, scum skemer dan media tumbuh mikroorganisme pengurai polutan (sarang tawon) tidak berfungsi dengan baik. Hal ini disebabkan karena media tersebut tersumbat oleh lumpur sehingga sistem tidak beroperasi dengan baik. Berdasarkan hasil analisa dilaboratorium nilai BOD, COD dan jumlah total coliform masih diatas baku mutu air limbah domestik yaitu berturut-turut sebesar 35 mg/L, 103,5 mg/L dan 3 x 107 Jumlah/100 ml Kata Kunci : Limbah domestik, lumpur aktif, biofilter

Teknologi fuel cell (sel bahan bakar) dewasa ini masih terus berkembang pesat dan disempurnakan. Hampir semua negara maju memberikan anggaran yang cukup besar untuk penelitian teknologi sel bahan bakar dari mulai pengembangan hingga proyek percontohan agar teknologi sel bahan bakar dapat segera memasuki ajang pasar komersial secepat mungkin. Dalam tulisan ini secara ringkas ditinjau pendekatan untuk penyusunan strategi pengembangan teknologi sel bahan bakar di Indonesia, khususnya terkait dengan peningkatan kerjasama antar pelaku peneliti dan pengembang sel bahan bakar di Indonesia. Beberapa pertimbangan awal yang bisa dijadikan dasar pada pengembangan sel bahan bakar di Indonesia a.l.: kemampuan sumber daya manusia, perkembangan teknologi material, ketersediaan sumberdaya alam, serta arah aplikasi yang tepat dan potensi pasar.

In this present work, we carry out systematically study on catalyst for ethanol electrooxidation in direct ethanol fuel cell. For cathode catalyst we use a commercial catalyst of 40% Pt/C from ETEK. Catalysts were printed on to carbon paper of TGPH 060 and sandwiched into membrane electrode assembly (MEA) and then arranged in fuel cell with the geometric area 1.2 cm2. As an electrolyte, we used Nafion 117 from Du Pont. On-line Differential Electrochemical Mass Spectrometry (DEMS) measurement in fuel cell setup was carried out in order to determine the activity and selectivity which was indicated by result of Faradaic current and CO2 current efficiency of ethanol electro-oxidation respectively. PtRhCeO2/C was significantly improve the selectivity to form of CO2 in comparison to the commercial catalyst of 20% Pt/C from Alfa Aesar- Johnson Mattews . Increasing of selectivity is shown by increase of CO2 current efficiency of ethanol oxidation of about 25 percent in comparison to references catalyst of 20% Pt/C Alfa Aesar-JM

We observed the current data in Hurun Bay, South Lampung Sumatra Hurun Bay is a small semi enclosed bay with areas up to 1.5 km2 and has four mouth river. Measuremet field around one year from Januari 2003 until Januari 2004. The two current sensor located at central of the bay and the sensor take a depth about four (4) and twelve (12) meter from surface.The continous current record indicated that the current in Hurun Bay relative small. The current velocity at June is higher and have a average value 3.98 cm/second at 4 meter and 3.94 cm/second at 12 meter from surface and commonly current velocity in bay under 50 cm/second. Spreading of wastes from 11 river mouths around the Jakarta Bay during the east and west monsoons is simulated in this study, making use of transport model. The data of wastes weight and concentration used in this study are obtained from ?Marine and Jakarta Bay Wastes Prevention? pilot project conducted by the government of DKI Jakarta. In this simulation, it is assumed that the weight of daily outflow of wastes is constant and the composition of wastes is not taken into account.From the simulation results there are found that during the west monsoon, wastes in the Jakarta Bay mostly transported eastward, spread until 3 km and accumulated in the eastern part of the Jakarta Bay. Wastes with concentration more than 10 kg/L spread out to the offshore until 1 km from the shore line or river mouth. On the other hand, the wastes mostly transported westward during the east monsoon. These wastes spread westward until 5 km and mix with the wastes from the river mouths which are located in the western part of the Jakarta Bay. The amount of wastes which are spread westward during the east monsoon is greater than the amount of wastes which are spread eastward during the west monsoon.Keywords: Jakarta Bay, wastes, transport model

Artificial reef (rumpon) are tools in the form fish collecting objects or structures that are designed made from natural or artificial materials that are placed permanently in marine waters. Many oil rigde spread in coastal area. Majority of fisherman from Kutai Kartanegara catch a fish around oil ridge and very dangerous. The Application of artificial reef technology as coral reefs have been set at Kutai Kartanegera waters in 2009. Activities are particularly in assessment site selection survey for deployment the artificial reef depand the quality and depth water. Artificial reef made of concrete with a total 60 pieces and has a size of 2 x 2.5 meters. The results of physical and chemical analysis such as water temperature, depth, salinity, turbidity, based material and dissolved oxygen in the normal condition. The dominat of sediment in a sand bed is muddy and has a marine topography a slope, because there is still considerable influence of the Mahakam delta. There are six potential locations for mooring artificial reef at position UTM 1.555000/9975100; 2.555823/9978221;3.559711/9981510;4.562515/9986117;5.558448/9991855; 6.557506/9987513. Artificial reef placement depths ranging 15 - 25 meters.
