Background of this research based on students’ understanding of mathematical concepts was lack at grade IX SMPN 1 Bayang. This case was expected because of the learning process was centered on the teacher, students are not accustomed to discuss and construct knowledge during the learning process. One way to overcome this problem was implemented an active learning strategy Group To Group. This study aims to determine students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategy Group To Group.  Active learning strategy Group To Group was better than students’ understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning class IX students of SMPN 1 Bayang. This research was experimental research, with design of randomized trials on the subject. The population in this study was class IX SMPN 1 Bayang Academic Year 2013/2014. Sampling technique was randomly, one class be experimental class IX.2 and another class be control IX.4. The instrument of this research was final test with indicator concept understanding. The technique of data analysis was t-test formula with MINITAB. Based on data analysis was known both of classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples and the result of hypothesis test used obtained P-value < α, so hypothesis research was accepted. Inconclusion students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategy Group To Group was better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning class IX students’ of SMPN 1 Bayang in Academic Year 2013/2014.

The introduction of this research  by the lack of student’s mathematical problem solving. It can be supported by the result of examination of students SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan academic year 2012/2013, based on the percentage of student’s succeed in the first semester. Furthermore this research has purpose to find out mathematical in problem solving at eightth the grade of SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan by using cooperative learning strategy type Snowball Throwing is better than use conventional strategy.The design of this research is experiment. It seems that there are experiment and control class. Sample at this research took the population as all of eightth grade SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan students and the sample was VIII4 as experiment and VIII3 as control class. The instrument use here was a essay form and the reliabilitytest was 0,63. The result of hypothesis testing with one side oft test, at hypothesis the ttest greater than ttable,it can be concluded that students mathematical in problem solving use Snowball Throwing us better than conventional strategy at class student of eightth grade of SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan.

The research was motivated by student comprehension mathematical concept was low, and the smart students  didn’t want to share their knowledge with other students, so the  result in learning mathematic class of students  X SMAN 1 Canduang was low in academic year 2012/2013 . The purpose of this research to find out whether students comprehension mathematical concept by implementing cooperative learning model TPS was better than of used comprehension mathematical concept with conventional learning in class X SMAN 1 Canduang. The type of research was experimental research, the design of randomized trials on the subject . The population of this research was students of class X of SMAN 1 Canduang 2012/2013 academic year consisting of four classes. The ttechnique was random sampling , the sample was selected as the class, as a class experiment X3 and X2 as the control class . The instrument used in this study was written test essay form with reliability 0.72. The data of tests students in comprehension mathematical concepts was derived from the results of the final test comprehension mathematical concept. Based on the results of a quantitative analysis , the test of data to comprehension mathematical concepts , it is known that the two classes were normally distributed and the sample was not homogeneous on the real level α was 0.05 . Hypothesis was testing using the t test of the parties, obtained t was 5.354, so the research hypothesis was accepted . It can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning model TPS was better  than students to comprehension mathematical concepts with conventional teaching class X SMAN 1 Canduang.

This research was motivated by the importance of students understanding of mathematical concepts. This research aims to determine: 1) how the progress understanding indicators of students comprehension of mathematical concepts in class VIII SMPN 1 Rao Utara by applying active learning strategies questions students have type accompanied of quiz; 2) the students’ comprehension of mathematical concepts in class VIII SMPN 1 Rao Utara that apply active learning questions students have type accompanied of quiz was better than students’ comprehension of mathematical concepts that apply conventional learning. This design of this research was experiment with a random research on the subject. Population of this research was student`s at grade VIII SMPN1 Rao Utara. Results of hypothesis testing with one side of t- test it was obtained that thitung was greather than ttabel, then the hypothesis in this research received. In conclusion, students’ comprehension of mathematical concepts that apply active learning The Learning Cell type accompanied by quiz was better than students’ comprehension of mathematical concepts that apply conventional learning.

This research was conducted based on the phenonema indicating  that the students have no concern with learning that their understanding of mathematical concept have low, that can be seen from the completion percentage of II-semester examination points of VII- and VIII-grade students. The purposes of this research are to know the student activities by applying the guided-note-taking-type active learning strategy and the student understanding of mathematical concept by using the active learning strategy with Guided Note Taking type was better than the student mathematical concept apprehension by applying the conventional learning of the VIII-grade students of SMPN 28 Padang. This was experimental research. The instruments used in this research are observation sheet of student activities and final tests.  The results of student activity analysis show that the activities risen  an improvement, and from the hypothesis testing it is obtained that P-value is 0.009 so that H0 is rejected and the hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that the student activities can improve by applying the guided-note-taking-type active learning strategy and the students’ understanding of mathematical concept by using this strategy was better than that by using the conventional at the VIII-grade of SMPN 28 Padang.

The Background of this research was the comprehension of mathematical concepts. This research therefore aims to determine how students’ learning activities with the implementation of active learning strategy The Power Of Two with student work sheet types and to determine whether student comprehension of mathematical concept by applying active learning strategy types The Power Of Two was better than the student comprehension of mathematis concepts with the application of learning conventional class IX student of SMPN 2 Dua Koto. This type of research was experimental research. Population in this research is class IX student of SMPN 2 Dua Koto consisting of three classes. The sampling technique is done randomly, which was selected as the sample classes are class IX 3 as the experiments class and class IX 1 as the control class. The instrument used in this final test with indicator of comprehension the concept. Form of test used was a form of essay with a reliability test was 0,709. Hypothesis testing use a t-test with the  of the software MINITAB. Based on the analysis of the data found P-value was less than , then this hypothesis is accepted. Thus concluded that the student comprehension of mathematical concept with application of active learning strategy types The Power Of Two with student work sheet was better than the student comprehension of mathematis concept with coventional learning in class IX SMPN 2 Dua Koto Kabupaten Pasaman.

This research of background is the important of mathematics concept comprehension student’s, and the unusually of student’s discuss with their friend. This research to determine how indicator of student’s concept comprehension about student’s mathematics concept by using active learning strategy type The Learning Cell, to determine  what is mathematics concept comprehension of student’s by using active learning strategy type The Learning Cell better than student’s mathematics concept comprehension using conventional. The kind of this research is experiment, by using random sampling research. The formulation is all of IX SMPN 1 Batang Kapas and the sample is IX.5 as experiment class and IX.4 as control class. The instrument that is used in this research are quiz and test. The function of quiz is to see the development of student’s mathematics concept comprehension indicator an the test used to see mathematics concept comprehension that consist of seven items in essay form with reability 0,98. Based on the quantitative analysis that is done on normality test by using MINITAB’S program we can get p-value 0,713 for experiment class and p-value 0,909 for control class, soo the hypothesis using t test by significant 0,05. Based on description of data and hypothesis test, can be conclude that the student’s mathematics by using active learning type The Learning Cell is better than student’s mathematics concept comprehension by using conventional learning student’s.

This research are  motivated by the lack of teachers who raise students  knowledge to express opinions / ideas regarding the content to be learned. One method to overcome this problem is to adopt a strategy of Generative Learning. This study aims to determine the students understanding of mathematical concepts using Generative Learning Strategy was  understanding of mathematical concepts was better  than students who used conventional teaching seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Padang. This type of research is experimental research study design for subjects randomized. The study population was all students in class VII SMP Negeri 10 fields listed in the school year 2012/2013. Random sampling technique and terplih VIIg class as the experimental class and the control class as a class VIIe. The research instrument is essay test with a reliability test was 0.90. Based on the analysis of the data found that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples. Hypothesis test results obtained P-value <α. Thus, it can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts using Generative Learning strategies are better than student understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional teaching seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Padang.

The research is based on by less unusually students discuss and construct knowledge received during the learning process, and students low of comprehension of mathematical concept. The research aims to determine students comprehension of mathematical concept by applying cooperative learning Think-Pair-Square better than the students comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional teaching 8th grade students of State Junior High School 11 Padang. This type of research is experimental research on the subject with a random design. The population is 8th grade students of State Junior High School 11 Padang academic year 2012/2013. Class selected sample is VIII.G class as the experimental class and the control class VIII.B class. The research instrument was the final test in the form of essay test reliability is 0.79084. Hypothesis testing using one side of t-test. Based on the analysis of data obtained thitung=2,83 is less than ttable=1,64, so it can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concept that apply cooperative learning model Think-Pair-Square is better than students comprehension of mathematical concept that apply conventional learning model in class VIII SMP 11 Padang.

ABSTRACTThe aim of this research was to reveal whether the understanding of  mathematical concept by using Guided Note Taking active learning model was better than by using conventional model. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject desaign. The population of the research was the student in class IX of MTsN Bungus Teluk Kabung Padang in Academic Year 2012/2013. The instruments of the research were a quiz and a post-test. The data gathered was analyzed by using t-test. Basade on the result of data analysis it was found that the average score of the student in the experimental class (86,37) was higher than those in the control one (78,90). The result of hypothesis test indicated that P-value was smaller than α. Therefore, it was concluded that the understanding of mathematical concept by using Guided Note Taking active learning model was better than by using conventional learning.
